E.T. pode ter deixado a Terra com segurança a bordo sua nave espacial, mas espera por perturbá-lo logo após o desembarque nesta aventura 3D PlayStation. O universo está em perigo e só E.T. pode ajudar a salvá-lo, encontrando plantas exóticas. Como o estrangeiro bondoso do filme de 1982, re-lançado em 2002 para comemorar seu aniversário de 20 anos, os jogadores devem resgatar plantas raras de um total de cinco planetas: Planeta verde, planeta do gelo, deserto planeta, Metrópole, e da terra. Cada planeta contém um número específico de plantas para encontrar através de três níveis.
