Valhellio is a vertically scrolling shooter developed by Masaaki Nagaura and released by Elements on December 29, 2011. It is notable for using beautiful artworks drawn by Tony Taka, a professional Japanese manga artist and video game artist. Valhellio takes place in a near future Earth where food and energy are all provided by robots known as Humanoids. When imbalance and internal conflicts occured, the Humanoids start a rebellion against mankind. The player chooses one of three different characters; Lukia Elgrato, Aono Oto and Iris Hartley; and shoots through five stages with two routes each. Each level ends with a boss fight and each game begins with six shields. The option to continue is given when all shields are lost. Each ship in Vahellio has four attacks: a main shot (spray of bullets), sub weapon (unbroken plasma laser), small floating gun and burst attack which serves as a force bomb. The game places emphasis on obtaining high scores which is a combination of Shikigami no Shiro's Tension Bonus System (TBS) and Donpachi's Get Point System (GPS).
