Buccaneer: The Pursuit of Infamy is an action game about pirates. It consists of two parts:

The Cutlass Bay port, home for all the buccaneers. There are a number of important buildings that will assist in campaign (in menu view, though). The Dockyards affords ship repair and upgrades. Shipwright sales new vessels of different classes and properties, which should be earned first during the missions, gained in the Chart Room. Tavern lets to save game progress and shows other players online infamy high scores.

The Sea, where your missions take place. The only ship in disposal is controlled with four directional buttons for movement and mouse for aiming and attacking. Cannons can fire from the left or right side, depending on button pressed. Task usually suggest to sink other vessels, destroy land building or explore something. Most of them are allowed to be done once, except for merchant convoy robbery. For successful completion character gains gold, infamy points and heightens crew morale.

The goal of the game is to raise the Golden Buccaneer pirates from dead peril by accumulating infamy points. But they tend to disappear over the time, with speed depending on the crew morale, so it should be kept at good level. Next to the main campaign there are team-based multiplayer battles up to 18 players.
