A Stroke of Fate: Operation Valkyrie is the first of two adventure games set in World War II, following the story of the German Resistance in 1944. You play this first game in the role of Gerhard Mayer, a member of the SS with a day job in the Gestapo. Disagreeing with some of the heavy-handed tactics of the Third Reich, you get embroiled in a plot to overthrow the Nazi regime and assassinate Adolf Hitler.

Operation Valkyrie is a standard 3rd person point-and-click adventure game with a realistic graphical style and a strong historical focus. An option is provided to play the game with black-and-white visuals, to further add to the historical feel.
