Oric Products
Oric is a brand of microcomputers, developed by the British company Tangerine Computer Systems and later by the French company Eureka. Three models were released in the 1980s: the Oric-1, the first microcomputer to have mass appeal in households in the UK and France, where it was elected "Computer of the Year" in 1983, followed by the Oric-Atmos, also elected "Computer of the Year" in France in 1984. After a third model, the Oric Telestrat, which had a more confidential release, clones of the Atmos continued to be sold in Eastern Europe until the 1990s. The range sold just under 400,000 units in Europe, a respectable volume but far from matching its competitors, the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64.
