Tenka Gomen
First released in 1994 for the PC-98 platform to great acclaim, Tenka Gomen (literally "Exempt from Imperial Law") is a simulation game that lets players experience the life of a wealthy merchant in Edo, set against the backdrop of Japan’s peaceful and culturally flourishing early-to-mid Edo period.
Players choose one of 10 types of wholesale businesses—including sake, oil, medicine, and dyed fabrics—and take on the role of a young heir to the shop, aiming to become a tycoon by selling goods. It is entirely up to the player to strive for fame as a prominent merchant, live a lifetime as a steady, honest trader, or even perfect the path of an unethical businessman.
The goal of the game is to live the one-time life of a wealthy merchant exactly as you wish.
