In UNDER THE ICE , you have been given command of the U.S.S. Helldiver that is on patrol for German U-Boats. Suddenly, a high-priority coded message is radioed to you from the Pentagon. The message says that a specially-equipped B-17 bomber has crashed near the North Pole. Aboard the bomber was a VIP with diplomatic documents regarding the current and future joint war effort between us and the Soviets. If these documents fall into the wrong hands, we will lose the war. So you must recover these documents before the Germans do, but that isn't easy, they have planted a Nazi agent aboard your sub and his instructions are to compromise or terminate your mission.
