Collect Red Gems to fill it up as otherwise you'll end up dead. If either character dies you'll be sent back to a previous checkpoint, these tend to not be too far away but can be. You can upgrade the health bars by smashing the large Red Health Crystals you'll find hidden in levels, these are rare and are needed for 100%. Collect 4 parts for Spyro to upgrade and 5 for Cynder to upgrade, each Crystal gives one part to each character. Health does not refill by itself without a certain piece of armour equipped. ,----------------------------------, | [010500] Breath [010500] | '----------------------------------' Use Green Gems to power your breath attacks, when you run out you can't use them and will either have to go find some more or just use your melee attacks. Purple Crystals will drain your breath if you're nearby so smash them as quick as you can. You can upgrade the magic bars by smashing the large Green Magic Crystals you'll find hidden in levels, these are rare and are needed for 100%. Collect 5 parts for Spyro to upgrade and 4 for Cynder to upgrade, each Crystal gives one part to each character. Like health your magic will not refill by itself without the correct armour equipped. ,--------------------------------------, | [010600] Experience [010600] | '--------------------------------------' Experience is used to upgrade your elemental abilities and you get them from killing enemies, smashing objects, smashing Blue Gem Clusters and killing Elite Enemies. Blue Gem Clusters are found hidden in the levels, there are 99 throughout the game and give 1000 experience to each character when smashed. Elite Enemies are tougher versions of the normal enemies and require a bit more effort to kill, once killed they give you 10000 experience, this is not shared so if you're trying to get one character to get the experience make sure you're controlling them when the kill happens. Once a character reaches the max amount of experience all of it gathered after that point will go to the other character. ,----------------------------------, | [010700] Armour [010700] | '----------------------------------' Hidden throughout the game are several pieces of armour, nine for each character, that will give special bonuses. You'll find these inside special chests that require both characters to open it at the same time. If you collect all three pieces of one set and equip them all at the same time you get an extra bonus effect. ,----------------------------------------, | [010800] Chapter Mode [010800] | '----------------------------------------' After you complete each level in Story Mode you unlock it for play in Chapter Mode. This allows you to go back into a level and search out any items that you missed the first time through. The main difference being that you can't save during play but you can quit at any point and it'll save what you've found. You can use all the abilities and armour that you've earned in Story Mode during Chapter Mode. ,-----------------------------------------------------------------------------, |~-[020000]~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-WALKTHROUGH~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-[020000]-~| '-----------------------------------------------------------------------------' ,-----------------------------------------, | [020100] The Catacombs [020100] | '-----------------------------------------' | Blue | Red | Green | Armour | Elite | | 10 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 1 | '------------------------------------' After the opening cutscene you get thrown straight into the action. Kill the first wave of the litte enemies, Grublins, and read the tutorials that the game gives you to make sure you know how to fight. Without any breath you can only keep on meleeing until you've beaten them all, if playing in single player switch to the other character if you're on low health. There's another wave of Grublins after you defeat this first bunch and the game will teach you all about grabbing, a move good for getting high combos and killing single targets. Once you've beaten this second lot you'll meet the Golem. Press the action button as the game shows near the centre of the platform where you're currently tethered to. Then repeatedly press the light attack button until you're free. Once free you can now move around the area, mostly wanting to avoid the Golem's hand as he swipes it at you, using the dodge move to avoid it. As he rests his hand on the left go up to it and melee it. Keep doing this and dodging his attacks until he pulls it back in pain. And again. He'll get a bit more active in smashing his fist into the ground but still falls into the trap of resting his hand in the exact same place, hit it until you get another gem explosion. Then one more time repeat the dodging and hitting and you're done. Jump up onto the pillar and glide across the gap to the right where you'll meet up with Hunter. Once in the next room go to the right past some red gem clusters and out to a series of platforms that Hunter jumps along. Follow him along and learn how to fly, press jump three times. Once you reach the other end you'll be treated to a cutscene and the first quick time event, press jump when the game indicates. If you don't do it in time or press the wrong button you'll die. Once you're safe and sound there's a save point right next to you. The Crypt Fly over the gap towards the green gem cluster. After the cutscene smash it to get some mana. As soon as you're done smashing it the floor will explode with Grublins, perfect for testing out your elemental attacks (use the Dpad to switch between the different elements). You'll be set upon by a few waves here until the passageway ahead is opened up. Jump up to where Hunter is waiting and use Spyro's Fire Breath or Cynder's Poison Breath (Up on the Dpad if you've switched element) to destroy the vines. Go through and you'll be shown the first Blue Gem Cluster. Smash it to get 1000 experience for each character that you can use to help upgrade their elemental abilities. Each level has a certain number of Blue Gem Clusters and if you want to get 100% you're going to need to find them all. On the left of the entrance is a lever, press the action button and then rapidly press light attack until it flips and the platforms on the right move. Go over to the opposite corner of the current platform and pick up the Adamantite Orb, this will limit your flying but you can still fly a bit just not very high (if you drop the orb over the side it'll reappear next to where you picked it up). Jump up the stepped platforms whilst one of your characters is carrying the orb to where Hunter is. He'll run off as you approach but over to the right on the wall is an Electric Conduit. Use Spyro's Electricity Breath (right on the Dpad) and keep it going it until you see the platforms above move into place (use the green cluster to refuel if you run out of mana). Pick up the orb again and make your way up those platforms, stop when you left wall at the top. Drop the orb on the floor (or switch to the other character) and fly towards the screen from the higher point. You should find your first Red Life Crystal on a ledge here. Glide back to the orb, pick it up and continue to the top where Hunter is waiting by a large door. Put the orb down on the small blue circle identical to the one at the bottom. This will open up the door at the top of the steps and allow you to continue on. Ignore Hunter for a while and drop down to the right, you should be able to see the second Blue Gem Cluster down off the side. Smash it and turn the camera to the right, jump down onto the platforms below and make your way to the first Green Magic Crystal. Finding these will help towards increasing the size of your magic bar for both characters. Jump and fly back up to the large open area, smash the Blue Gem Cluster on the right which you should be able to get up to. Fly down into the centre of the area and at the base of the tall platform in the middle you should find a lever which requires both Spyro and Cynder to throw. This'll twist the platform around so that you can use the vines on the side to climb on it. Now go back up to the entrance of the area and climb up to where Hunter was and then glide across to the Climbing Zones on the platform you just turned. As you get close to it press the action button to grab on. Glide across the gaps to Hunter and then up some vines and to the left. Drop off the vines by pressing the action button again. Glide across to a Blue Gem Cluster and then onwards to Hunter and yet another Blue Gem Cluster. Glide down to Hunter and the Golem will make a reappearance. Use the vines to climb to the right then up at the end. Jump backwards at the top and continue going left. When you get to the really large vine area make your way to the far left, and jump off to a Blue Gem Cluster. Jump back onto the vines and go right at the top. Another quick time event will play out and the Golem will leave again. Smash the purple crystal in the Golem's wrist and then glide over the gap towards Hunter. The game will then inform you of Elite Enemies, the first one being back down in the area below. First you'll probably want to smash the Blue Gem Cluster up here and save the game. The Waterfall Cave Jump back down to the open area and you can find a couple more Blue Gem Clusters, one in the corner nearest to where the Golem was hanging out and the other right next to it. Turn around and head past a fallen column that provides a path upwards. You should then trigger an Elite Enemy to appear. This guy is entirely optional and quite tough due to its high health and attack, the trick is to use the required element to smash its armour and then you can more easily damage it. The colour of its helmet is the answer to this, simply match it up with one of the eight elements that Spyro and Cynder have and use that on it until the helmet flies off. The element appears to be random but usually the same if you return later (or die). Once the hat is off you can more easily damage the Elite Grublin with any other attack, make sure to avoid getting hit as at this stage you really can't survive many hits. If you're wanting to upgrade a certain character's abilities make sure to grab the reward gems with that one as it doesn't get shared like the blue gems clusters do. As this guy is small you can grab him, use Spyro's Electricity Breath to keep him stunned between the large combo increasing "Terrador's Sentence" (rapidly press light attack whilst holding an enemy of the ground) bouts so that you can immediately grab him again and do the same thing until he's dead. Fairly simple. Once you've either killed him or you've given up, make your way back up to the save point (resave if you managed to kill him) and continue on through the passageway. Follow Hunter and jump down into a large windy room, smash the final Blue Gem Cluster of the level down here and then up the vines to the exit. Wander down the steps and into the final room. Head into the corner nearest the screen where you'll find dual wheel, start lowering the horn but partway through you'll be attacked by Grublins. Disengage from the wheel and focus on them first. After you've killed a few waves of these, ending with a wave appearing on the steps, go back to the wheel and spin it all the way until the horn reaches the ground. Using Cynder and her Wind Breath blow into the horn from the left until the door is fully open. One more quick time event and you're done. ,------------------------------------------, | [020200] Twilight Falls [020200] | '------------------------------------------' | B | R | G | A | E | | 7 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 1 | '-----------------' Fly forwards following Hunter out of the cave and down the waterfall. About halfway down veer off to the right where there's a slight alternate direction in the water, go up the stepped bits of the waterfall here and smash the first Blue Gem Cluster of the level. Rejoin the waterfall on its path downwards and at the bottom on the left is a second Blue Gem Cluster. Continue onwards towards the save point. You'll be told of how you can't save whilst there are enemies nearby, so kill the enemies that pop out of the ground until you can. Also smash the third Blue Gem Cluster up on the platform near you. Foot of the Twilight Falls Cross the river and double back a short way so that you can go through the gap in the trees. Go forwards until you reach the end where you'll be attacked by yet more Grublins, you can easily just fly on past these if you can't be bothered. Anyway, go left at the end and keep to the wall, you should come across a vine which you can use Fire or Poison to get past. Behind it you'll find the fourth Blue Gem Cluster of the level. Head back out of this little dead end and off to the right past some gem clusters and over the river to where Hunter is waiting. Fight two waves of Grublins and a new enemy will appear. Kill this guy and two things will happen. A pair of purple lights will appear at the base of a nearby vertical log and the fifth Blue Gem Cluster will appear. Ignoring the log for a bit head along following the righthand side of the area and you will come across another vine blocked path. Destroy those vines and follow the path to a chest. Open it for some tail armour for Spyro. Head back out into the open and you should be able to find a Green Magic Crystal ahead as well as a sixth Blue Gem Cluster near the base of a cliff. Jump up that cliff by using the platforms and go through the tunnel in it, at the other end is the second Green Magic Crystal of the level. Jump down into the gust of wind and allow it to take you over the initial waterfall and along to where there's an Elite Enemy. Work out from the colour of its mask which element you will need to use on it to get its protective mask off. Once that's done you will have a much easier time fighting it, and with it being a small enemy you should be able to use the melee grab attacks to great effect. Once you've killed the Elite wander over to the chest in the corner and open it to gain a piece of armour. Regenerating Health Bracers for Cynder. Once you've got that fly down to the ground level again and make your way back to where Hunter is waiting next to a vertical log. Push that log over with both characters. Grab onto the climbing zone on the side of the cliff and use one character to climb up as high as you can go. Switch to the other character and hold down the jump button and start swinging from left to right, you should quickly build up enough momentum to reach a Red Life Crystal on the right, when you're close to the climbing zone underneath it press the action button to grab on and climb into the small alcove. Jump back out and swing up to the climbing zones directly above the first character. You should be able to reach the final Blue Gem Cluster of the level without having to switch again. Now jump back down once more and swing up onto the left climbing zones, once here switch back to the first character and swing up to Hunter to tell him you want to go to the Enchanted Forest. ,--------------------------------------------, | [020300] Valley of Avalar [020300] | '--------------------------------------------' | B | R | G | A | E | | 19 | 3 | 3 | 4 | 1 | '------------------' Once you're able to start moving rush over to the Grublins attacking the nearest building and start attacking them. Try and keep them from attacking the building itself and focused on attacking you, Cynder's Wind Breath and Spyro's Electricity Breath are the two that seem to be most effective at keeping them from doing damage. Keep doing this until you kill several waves of them and you trigger the arrival of some Wyverns. Once they arrive you now have to contend with some flying creatures attacking as well as the Grublins on the ground. Try and keep them at bay by knocking one back and moving on to the next one, going back and forth between all of them until they explode into gems. If you're running low of breath grab a Grublin and swing it about a bit. You'll eventually win and save the village. Saving all of the buildings will earn you an Achievement on the Xbox 360 version but nothing extra on the others. Village of the Cheetahs You can go save the game over by Hunter. Once you've done that it's time to head out into the Valley. At the far end of the village, just over the fence, is the first Blue Gem Cluster of the level. Fly over the river and right behind the tree is the first Red Life Crystal. Continue heading forwards following the river towards a waterfall up ahead. Just past some trees on the left near the waterfall is a second Blue Gem Cluster. Now go right up to the waterfall and jump onto the Climbing Zone to the left of the cave entrance. Keep going up and up here you should be able to find a piece of Regenerating Mana Bracers Armour for Cynder and a Blue Gem Cluster a little further along the river. Drop back down off the top of the waterfall and head into the cave at the bottom. Approach the restrained Cheetah and you'll be attacked. As you might expect your task is to kill these enemies. Once you've managed it Meadow will ask you to go get a raft, and to do that you'll need to visit a hermit. As you start leaving a rock behind where Meadow was held explodes leaving behind a chest with some Tail Armour for Cynder inside. Now leave and follow the river along until it forks. Take the left hand path along and just around the corner from the village you'll find the next Blue Gem Cluster on the side. Continue along this side of the river following it until you reach an upright log which you can push over. Either push it over now or you can just wait a bit. Head to the left and to the waterfall at the end of the fork in the river. Smash the two Blue Gem Clusters on either side of the waterfall and then land next to the door at the bottom of it. Open the passageway and walk into it. Head to the right when you get out of the passageway and go into a cave on the other side of the river, you should find another Blue Gem Cluster in here. Head up the slope and at the end to the left is a hidden Red Life Crystal. Turn around and head back towards where you entered the area, on the opposite side of the river from the entrance you should be able to see some Climbing Zones. Climb those zones and the game will teach you a couple new moves. First off it's the ability to jump quickly from zone to zone, just press the jump button right as you approach another climbing zone and you'll immediately jump again. Side effects to this move involve accidentally jumping when you should grab so this is a purely optional move. Wall Running however is something you'll need to get used to, this involves pressing the action button as you jump along a wall, this will cause your character to start running along it as if they were the Prince of Persia. Whilst the game will show you where it wants you to wall run by the scratch marks you can also run in other places that aren't marked as well, it's just not as necessary. Hold the run until you land on a platform over the river and then jump and fly over another platform on the right and up to another where the game will tell you how to jump off from a wall run. Double jump and glide hugging the wall on the right (don't fly) and perform a run and jump as you approach the ledge on the left. Making sure not to take flight land and then push over a log. This both provides you with a shortcut back here if you should fall and a way onwards. Jump up onto the brown vines on the wall, these are climbing zones except that they vanish after a short time of holding onto them so move quickly. Go up and then to the right dropping down onto a ledge at the end of a large bit of green climbing zone. Jump over the river and towards a large open area. Ambushed by skeletons known as Shadows you'll have to fight them off. Luckily they're probably weaker than Grublins but there will be a lot of them. Once you kill them all the Hermit will provide you with the key you're after. Hermit's camp There's a Blue Gem Cluster over in the corner and a save point up some vines on the right. From the save point either wall run or just fly over to the corner where you'll find the Hermit sitting and a chest with some Armour, Increased Fury Power Bracers, for Spyro inside. You might be able to manage a wall run along the next wall towards the Green Magic Crystal up high but otherwise use the climbing zone down in the opposite corner and jump up to it. Once you've got it fly down and follow the river and go through the passageway and back out into the main area again. Head straight forwards and across the river, go to the right on the other side and take the first left in the trees, here you'll find a Blue Gem Cluster waiting to be smashed. Continue heading along to the right and you'll find another Blue Gem Cluster up on some stepped platforms. A little further on go to the left as the river splits and on the right you will be able to see yet another Blue Gem Cluster, once you turn around from smashing it go straight forwards towards the door in the rock ahead, killing the enemies that pop up attacking you. Once you've gotten past them open the door and grab one orb. Taking two at this point would be just hindering you. Go back to the river and go left, the opposite direction to where the raft is. Go past the waterfall and put the orb down. Jump up the platforms just beyond the waterfall on the wall to the left and make your way up and into a cave at the top of it, you'll find the last bit of Armour in this level, the Increased Defense Helmet for Spyro. Jump out of the waterfall and pick up your orb again, just behind some trees further along is the twelfth Blue Gem Cluster, only seven more to go. And one of those seven is underneath a large outcrop of rock ahead, just next to the river. Go past it and to the left where there's a Climbing Zone on the wall. Carrying the orb as you go up the zone jump to the right at the top and then run along the wall onto the ledges. Jump up to the climbing zone above your head and walk along upside down until you reach the other end. Place the orb on the button to open the door and grab the Green Magic Crystal locked within. Fly down to the right and go around the rock and the trees heading towards the cave where you met Meadow. On the left you should see some platforms and climbing zones, climb them up to the top. Here you'll meet this level's Elite Enemy. Again notice the colour of its hat and use the appropriate element to smash it. Unlike the previous elites this is no Grublin, this is an Orc so it might be a bit more tricky to use grabbing moves over and over to defeat. Instead use Electricity to disarm him and keep him looking for his weapon as you batter away at his health until victory is achieved. If you have fury available then this would be a good point to use it for an easier win. Up here you'll find a Blue Gem Cluster and if you jump up to the left of it you will be able to glide over a bottomless pit to the last of the level's Red Life Crystals. Go back to the bottom of the climbing zone that you previously used to deliver the Adamantite Orb and jump on the platforms leading towards the river. There's a nice Blue Gem Cluster at the top. Glide towards the central pillar where you should be able to see the next Blue Gem Cluster. And just off a small drop to the left you should be able to grab the third Green Magic Crystal. Now it's time to go get the raft. Fly forwards along the river to a point where you can see a pair of wooden nets blocking the river. Land next to a control box in the middle and use both characters to turn the wheel until it is fully retracted (there's another closer to the village but you can ignore it for now). Turn around and head towards the place where you picked up that Adamantite Orb, this time pick up two and fly back to the place where you entered the passageway to the Hermit. Don't go through the passageway but you should be able to get up onto the land on the left side. Head up the slope towards the log, push it over if you haven't already, and cross the river. Continuing on along this path you should spot another Blue Gem Cluster to the left. Continue beyond it and through the trees, jump up a small step to the left and you'll be another Blue Gem Cluster closer to completion. Duck back a short distance and continue through the trees going left. You'll meet a dead end. Or rather you'll now need to climb some vines on the left. If you're on single player you'll need to keep switching between the two characters and both will need to climb up the vines, in two player you'll probably be doing that anyway, you just need to keep up with each other as the orbs make it difficult to follow otherwise. Once you're both over the cliff head towards the save point up ahead and drop the orbs on the buttons. Kill the enemies attacking you and save the game. The Valley Pier Now go over to the raft, smashing the last Blue Gem Cluster over the river nearby, and use one character to hold onto it whilst the other flies, pulling the raft along as you go. Assuming you retracted the first nets continue onwards until you reach the second (if you forgot to do the first you'll have to get off and do it and then go back for the raft). Regardless of whether you retracted this second one or not the enemies will have put it back blocking your path. Get off the raft, it'll only float back a little here, and kill all the enemies near the wheel. Once they're all dead you'll be able to turn the wheel to retract the nets and get back onto the raft to bring it all the way to Meadow. Provided you've collected everything immediately speak to Hunter to finish the level and proceed to Warfang. ,---------------------------------------, | [020400] Dragon City [020400] | '---------------------------------------' | B | R | G | A | E | | 9 | 3 | 2 | 3 | 0 | '-----------------' Kill the Grublins that appear if you wish and head over to the corner of the area where the fire is. Fly up onto the vines on the wall and jump to the right. Fly from here to the first Blue Gem Cluster on top of the building that is currently fire. From here jump up to the next layer of buildings and to a door which requires Cynder's Shadow Breath to get through. Once Cynder is inside, use the lever on the right to open the door and let Spyro in. Now open the chest together to earn a piece of Tail Armour for Cynder. Head back outside and use Spyro's Fire Breath on the pot on the corner. This will light the middle of three pots in a place you haven't been to yet. Next, drop down to the floor level again and go through the Shadow Door on the floor directly beneath where you just were. If you've run out of Magic pull the lever to open the door, either way smash the Red Life Crystal inside here and get out. Head down the path in the corner diagonally opposite the building on fire. As you emerge in the end section turn to the left and you should find a Green Magic Crystal hidden in an alcove. Further along the same wall you'll find a place for Spyro and Cynder to turn a wheel in order to "Fill the Pool with Water". Whilst attempting this you'll be attacked so break off to deal with them and then continue on until the game shows the pool getting filled. Turn around and head towards the corner on the right closest to the camera. Climb the vines on the wall to the top where you'll find a familiar looking horn to blow through using Cynder's Wind Breath. Blow into it until the pillar across the other side of the area reaches the floor (you don't really need to do it all the way) and use Fire Breath to light the pot, this will ignite the left of three pots in a place you haven't yet been to, you should have already done the middle one. Now head back to the area with the fire and go through the other exit on the right. Follow this through to where the game tells you to "Find a Bucket". Go over to the door on the right where you and the other character can pull a lever together. To speed this up a little get both of the dragons to pick up a bucket from inside the room. Carry the buckets back to the pool in the first area and walk up to it to trigger an automatic scooping. Next go to the fire and you'll pour the water on. You may need one more bucket of water to be poured on so go back and grab a new bucket (or two), scoop some more water and douse the flames until you save the moles trapped inside. Follow the moles back through to where you picked up the buckets. Over in the left corner you'll find a Blue Gem Cluster and that door you keep seeing. Jump up the steps to another Blue Gem Cluster and the third and final torch. Light it and the door to the Red Life Crystal will open. Near the Ramparts Head up the rest of the steps, save the game, and follow the moles up further to where they're waiting for you to pull a lever on the wall next to them (if you need to go back just pull the lever back up). Follow them a little further. After the cutscene turn around and smash the Blue Gem Cluster at the top of the stairs on the way up here to the ramparts. As you proceed towards the catapult you should also spot a Green Magic Crystal on the first bit sticking out towards the battle. Once you reach where the catapult is being attacked if you go off towards the screen a little you'll find another Blue Gem Cluster to break. Once you've got that you can probably start attacking the little Gublins that are attacking the catapult. If they've done a lot of damage you may wish to fix it a bit by going to the bottom left corner of the catapult and scrabble around with both characters. Keep attacking and repairing until the mole yells that he's out of ammunition. Go over to the lever across from the catapult and pull it down. This will reload the catapult and trigger the next part. Now you have a few tasks you need to do all at once. To keep the catapult alive and to go over to that Siege Tower and destroy it. First kill the enemies currently attacking the catapult, then fully repair it. Once you've done that head to the right and kill the enemies that attack you infront of the Siege Tower. Once you've killed them smash the purple crystal at the base of the part of the tower that you can see (you don't actually need to kill the enemies, you can attack the crystal whilst they're still alive). Once that's done you'll be asked to escort the mole back to the catapult. Again you'll have to also keep the catapult alive so repair it as you go past towards the mole at the far end. Once you reach him he'll start moving towards the catapult but stop every time some more enemies arrive, kill them and he'll continue on his way again, don't forget the Red Life Crystal you'll also find here. Whilst doing this make sure to keep an eye on the catapult's life meter and to go back to repair it if it gets low (the mole can't be killed by the enemies or anything). Once you get him back you'll need to reload the catapult again. Once you've done that you'll want to continue protecting the catapult until a second Siege Tower will appear back where you just walked the mole from. Head over to it and smash the crystal at its base. Once that's destroyed and you've reloaded the catapult once more there'll be another cutscene and then two more Siege Towers will appear for you to destroy. Juggle fixing the catapult and destroying the crystals on the Siege Towers until both the crystals are smashed. Once that is done you'll need to perform one more reload. You'll see a tower collapse once the cutscene is over, go towards it and drop down the steps and to the bottom of the area here. Once at the bottom you should notice some vines on the wall going back up, climb them and jump to the right to a Blue Gem Cluster. Climb the vines on the wall at the back here to get to the seventh Blue Gem Cluster. Dragon City Drop down to the floor again and save the game, over beyond the save point you should be able to see another Blue Gem Cluster hidden away, and right next to it a Helmet Armour for Spyro. Climb up the vines on the left and then turn around and glide to a platform above the save point. Climb some more vines and when you get to the top walk forwards a bit. Time to kill a large Troll. Before doing that though you may wish to go over to the far left corner, use Cynder's Shadow Breath to get under the door and to smash the final Blue Gem Cluster of Dragon City. Head back out and go kill that Troll, swooping and attacking until he falls over defeated. As you do that two torches on either side of the large door will go out and the door will start to open. Kill the enemies that come through and light the two torches again. Open up the chest that appeared when you killed the troll to get a bit of Helmet Armour for Cynder and once you've killed enough enemies go to the door and position yourself inbetween the moles and start pushing. If more enemies come through kill them and get back to pushing the door. You should eventually manage to close it. The orange line will begin to reform but the door will keep trying to open. Stand right in the middle and when it opens a bit rapidly tap to keep it closed. After a while it will fully lock and the level will be over so make sure to have picked up the collectibles in this area before doing so. ,-----------------------------------------------, | [020500] Attack of the Golem [020500] | '-----------------------------------------------' | B | R | G | A | E | | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | '-----------------' You'll be immediately attacked by a pair of Orcs, as you kill them you'll want to watch the Golem ahead of you and avoid his tail when he swings it. You should be able to work out when he's about to attack as he makes a noise to signal it. It's not too often so you can run around fighting the Orcs but if you keep on getting hit stand over to the right on the slightly raised bit, the Golem doesn't seem to be able to hit you there. And over on the right you should also find a Red Life Crystal. Once you've killed a third pair of Orcs you will be able to push over a bit of rubble over in the forward left corner. Save the game. Head up the stairs and on the left at the top you should find hidden away a Green Magic Crystal. Continue a bit further out into the open. Kill a load of Orcs and you'll move onto the next part. Head up the steps and open the Armour chest to the left of the save point for a piece of Helmet Armour for Cynder. The High Tower Head through the gap and the Golem will appear. First off he'll breathe fire on the ground floor and then climb upwards. Fly up the steps on the left to the next floor and the fun will begin. He'll start attacking using his real hand which is of course still covered in purple crystals. He will rest it after smashing it down in an attempt to hit you. Melee it. He'll keep repeating this, the hand landing in the same spot each time until he recoils in pain. While he's leaning over now is your chance to attack those purple crystals on his neck. Climb the vines on the right to get up to him. Melee the crystals. You will need to be quick otherwise he'll go back to the last stage of his attack pattern which you'll need to repeat. Once you've smashed them he'll begin another sequence of smashing his hand down. You'll also need to fight his fire breath to keep on the platform. His attack pattern is a bit more varied this time so you may need to roll to avoid his attacks occasionally. Once his hand is done again he'll lower his head for you to hit the other side. Climb the vines on the wall to the left as quickly as you can and smash the next crystals in. He'll begin climbing upwards again, fly to the right up some steps and around the corner you should find some vines to climb. Now you're on the very top. Stand in the near left corner of the square and you should avoid all attacks and their shockwaves for this part whilst still being close enough to attack quickly. When he smashes both hands down together in the middle run up to it and melee it. Keep repeating this and returning to the safe spot until he recoils again. Run over to his arm and press the Action button to jump onto it. Then you'll Jump to stay on and then rapidly tap Light Melee. Spyro and Cynder will run up the Golem's arm where you should jump to avoid his hand, then immediately to jump off his shoulder and onto his head. Rapidly Light Melee to open up his head to reveal another purple crystal. Once you're back on the ground head to the same safe spot you were using before and get ready to do the same kind of thing, except that there will also be firey boulders smashing down on each attack. When he roars without smashing his hands you'll probably need to move out of the way of one. Keep attacking the dual hand smash until he leans over again. This will be the same sequence of button presses up until you get onto his head. So jump back onto his hand with the Action button and then jump to stay on. Rapidly tap Light Melee to avoid being squished, jump to avoid the hand and jump off the shoulder onto his head. Now press Heavy Melee once to finish it off. ,--------------------------------------------, | [020600] Ruins of Warfang [020600] | '--------------------------------------------' | B | R | G | A | E | | 13 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 1 | '------------------' Head towards the camera and collect the Blue Gem Cluster at the far end on the right and the other Blue Gem Cluster on the left a little further along. Now you have a choice, either left or right. You'll go both ways eventually so it doesn't really matter. I'm going to the left first in the walkthrough. Lower Left From the front of the gates head to the left and fly to a platform with water pouring off it. Follow the short platform round to where there are some wooden planks on the floor and you can see a Blue Gem Cluster below you. Smash it and fly further on towards a climbing zone but as you reach if veer off to the left and smash another Blue Gem Cluster on the platform there. Head back and climb that climbing zone and at the top turn around and fly back towards the camera along the wall. You'll find another Blue Gem Cluster up here. Fly back to the top of the climbing zone and then jump straight down the other side, landing on a small platform and yet another Blue Gem Cluster. Jump up to the left and then grab onto the vines on the righthand end of the platform. Climb these up to the top and what do you know? There's another Blue Gem Cluster here. Continue further up the vines and run along the wall to the right. At the end of the platform up here you'll find a Blue Gem Cluster, how rare. You can also see some another Bonus through the wall but you can't get it yet. Turn around and head back to where you first climbed up here and take the climbing zones further along the platform to get up to where you can see some vines blocking a doorway on the right, you'll also see some Shadows jumping out of their hiding place so you may wish to kill them first. Once they're dead use Fire or Poison to open it up and gain a Green Magic Crystal. Continue on to the left and glide around the corner. Ignore the climbing zone on the wall as you pass it and go down to the platforms on the left. Just around the corner here you'll find another piece of Helmet Armour for Cynder. Jump up to the left and onto the final platform. Head towards the Octagonal Door and a large enemy will popup. Fly around it meleeing, using elemental attacks and dodging whenever it looks like it's about to attack and you'll eventually kill it. A couple of torches will rise out of the ground, use Fire Breath to light them. This will cause four more torches to appear back near the climbing zone you just passed. Fly back to it and get Cynder to hold onto the climbing zone whilst you swing around in circles breathing fire in an attempt to light the four torches in a circle. There's no pattern or order you need to light them in or anything. If you've forgotten how to swing simply hold down the jump button. Once all four are lit head back to where you fought that creature and up to the top of the newly opened room. Pick up the red Crystal Key and a gust of wind will appear above you. You can kill the Shadows that appeared or just jump up into the gust and it'll take you back to the dragon statues. Drop it in the left statue that has a red beam coming from its foot to awaken the first of the four. Upper Left Jump up into the gust of wind above the left statues to be taken to the Upper Left. Walk along the platform until you are ambushed by Shadows. Kill them and then use Cynder's Shadow Breath to get under the Shadow Door and pull the lever. This will lower a large key-like object. Ignore it for a while though and instead smash the second wooden circle in the floor ahead. Jump down the hole and a spiked wall will start moving. Run towards the camera and use Shadow Breath to get under the door blocking the way. Quickly pull the lever to let Spyro through and continue running down the corridor. Repeat for a second door and lever and then turn the corner to get to a Red Life Crystal. Jump out of the waterfall covering the exit and you'll find yourself back in the Lower Left section. It's time to go kill an Elite Enemy. Fly back to where you got the first Crystal Key and an Elite Enemy Troll will
