For the most part, there is not too much to All-Star Baseball '99. As it was done on a fairly primitive system (the original Game Boy), there is little beyond the most basic parts of the game. To my knowledge, you cannot steal, nor can you pinch-hit. Additionally, stuff that one may be used to in other games, such as angling your hits, is not present either. For more in-depth information on playing the game, I suggest you read VinnyVideo's FAQ for All-Star Baseball 2003. While the two games are not the _exact_ same, the 2003 version being several years newer and on a different system, they follow the same general system of gameplay: http://www.gamefaqs.com/gba/553545-all-star-baseball-2003/faqs/52974 ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Modes -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ [MODE] Home Run Derby: This lets you match up players from several different teams in a batting marathon with the American division versus the National Division, where you have to try to hit as many home runs as possible. If you do not swing at all, it does not count as a miss, but if you swing and miss it does. Exhibition Game: Lets you play a simple game between two teams of your choosing. Season: Lets you play a season. You have the option to play the full 162 game schedule, 87 games, 26/30 or 13/15 Batting Practice: Lets you practice with any batter in the league against any pitcher, with options for pitching types. All-Star: You can play the All-Star game with this. All-Star players are default from the '97 season All-Star game. Your only option is whether you are playing as the National or American team. Passwords: Lets you enter a password Playoffs: You can play in the '97 Playoffs. If you choose a team that is not in the playoffs, you bump the team at the top of each division out of their spot and play in its place instead. Options: Allows you to change difficulty, toggle on and off Auto Fielding, change between Regular and Quick Play mode and toggle on and off Sound ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~- Donations/Amazon -~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ [DONT] I don't really care too much about donations, but if you are feeling generous, feel free to send one via PayPal to gammabetaalphafaqs AT gmail DOT com Alternatively, if you ever order any items from Amazon.com, go to the link below. You do not have to buy anything right away, but (if you do not clear browser cookies often) any items you buy within the next 90 days will count as a 'referral order' to me, meaning I get anywhere from 4-6% as a referral/affiliate payment of what you ordered (ie. order $100 worth of stuff, I get $4-6 from Amazon.com) www.amazon.com/?&camp=212361&linkCode=wsw&tag=raofavigafa-20&creative=391881 Other than that, considering this FAQ is for an obscure old game, if you have any other obscure old games that you do not play anymore, consider sending them to me (I will even pay the shipping cost!). I write FAQs for plenty of obscure old games with no FAQs, and having a physical copy of the game (and even better, a manual) is superior to not.
