Walkthrough Fern Island, FI Lake Island, LI Desert Island, DI Ice Island, II Cave Island, CI Cloud Island, CI Volcano Island, VI 10. Review 11. Copyright --------------- 1. Introduction --------------- Seeing that I have already made a FAQ for New Adventure Island for Turbo Grafix 16, I figure I should make FAQs for the Gameboy and possible for the Nintendo versions of the series. If you never played the series for any of the systems, you basically run across the level, collecting food to survive and reach the end of the level without getting hit. This game is based on the Adventure Island II for Nintendo, but has been slight altered. -------- 2. Story -------- Tina has been kidnapped by monsters and has been hidden on one of the eight islands. Higgins, {you}, must travel from island to island to search for Tina and defeat the monsters. ---------------- 3. Controls/Tips ---------------- D-Pad - Move Higgins Start - Pause Select - / B Button - Attack A Button - Jump - Hold the attack button to run. - This game is a one-hit-wonder game, meaning you only have one hit point. - When cracking eggs, make sure to you have room for the egg to open or hit it with your Hammer. - Make sure you get all the fruit you see, because the meter at the bottom of the screen is a Health meter and decreases a bar every three seconds or so. The more fruit you eat the longer the meter becomes and the more time you have on the level. - When traveling through a level, you will see rocks on the ground. Do not run into them, because you will trip over them and loose two health bars. - Before the beginning of a stage, you will be given a choice to use items that you have collected in the previous stage. - It is best not to take with you a Dinosaur when you start a level, because you will usually find one already in it. - It is a good idea to continually throw Hammers, because you may find a secret egg. You will know that you found it when your Hammers bounce off an invisible object. To uncover it, jump on the spot that the Hammers ricochet. - Note that after getting a key and returning back, enemies and objects will disappear in front of you. - With a Red Taylor, you can walk on lava, but it is difficult to separate lava and water. Lava has a jagged horizon, white bumps and white cracks on the surface. - A cheap way to get through a level is to use Don-Don to fly across it. Just remember to drop for fruit once in a while. ---------------- 4. Items/Weapons ---------------- Throughout the game you will these come across items that will a may aid or hinder your effort. Egg - These large eggs contain a set item. There are also hidden eggs that contain a Key. Look at tips to learn on how to find hidden eggs. Eggplant - This evil vegetable is like an anti-Fairy. Basically it drains you Health Meter for about five seconds. Very rare. Fairy - A small winged female. Once unleashed, she will protect you for about five seconds. For some reason, you do not accumulate points when you run through enemies when she is activated. Flower - These item appears only if you already have a Hammer and Skateboard. This flower will give you 1000 points. Fruit - Various Fruits will appear out of now where on the screen. Each Fruit is worth 50 points and restore two bars of Health. Only grapes give you 100 points. Gameboy - This item appears after you jump over the Coyote and defeat it. This miniature Gameboy gives you 1000 points. Hammer - This stone hammer is the only weapon that you will come across. It is a primitive weapon with a wooden handle and a large stone tied to it. Once thrown, the Hammer travels in an arc and has a short-range. Also, the Hammer can not destroy rocks or boulders. Note to get better range, jump and press the attack button. Last note, if you already have this item, a Skateboard will take its place. Key - A basic, ordinary looking key. Found in hidden eggs, these will cause either one of three things to happen. One is a cloud will appear at the bottom of the screen and levitate you to the a bonus level. The bonus level is a bunch of springs in the sky and you collect Fruit as you jump from spring to spring. The second thing that may happen is a bone platform will appear under you and levitate you to a special warp area. The pterodactyl will fly you to the next island. The third thing that may happen is that a wooden platform will take you to a secret room. The room will have a strange dinosaur in it, which will give you a item. Milk Bottle - A rare item that usually appears at the end of a bonus level. These small bottles with a "M" on it, are worth 2000 points and restore all Health. Skateboard - Picking this item up will equips you with a helmet and the skateboard. You can travel faster and have a hit point. Once hit of course, you loose the gear. Although good to have, the levels are not that long and because you can not stop while on the skateboard, you might miss a item or two. Pressing the back on the D-Pad, will cause you slow down. If your reach the end of the level on a Skateboard, the Skateboard disappears and you receive 2000 points. ------------ 5. Dinosaurs ------------ Through out the game, you will encounter Icons of symbols, {spade, heart, etc.}, which will unleash a dinosaur friend to help you on your quest. Note that I am using the same names from the Nintendo version. Name: Icon: Info: Blue Taylor Heart This Taylor is lighter in color and has a strange attack. Pressing the attack button, unleashes Taylor's tail and sends out a projectile. The projectile seems to be a electric bolt. This bolt can destroy rocks and boulders. Also, Blue Taylor can jump high enough to hit the top of the screen. Blue Taylor also has the ability to walk on ice and not slip. Classy Diamond Classy is a Plesiosaurus, an aquatic reptile that can travel on land as well as water. It can also go through bubbles in the water, without any harm. Classy has not attacks, but you can still throw your Hammer off its back. Don-Don Clover Don-Don is a Pterodactyl, obviously making him a flying dinosaur. Although it can walk on land, it is at a slow pace and is quite fast in the air. To fly, just hold the jump button. Don-Don can drop stones as a weapon. Like the Hammer, the stones fly in an arc. The rocks also have the properties of a Hammer, {it can not break rocks or boulders}. Red Taylor Spade This Taylor is a darker color and breathes a long-range fireball. The fireball can destroy rocks and boulders. Red Taylor also has the ability to walk on lava, but it is difficult to separate lava and water. Lava has a jagged horizon, white bumps and white cracks on the surface. Also, Red Taylor can jump high enough to hit the top of the screen. ---------- 6. Enemies ---------- Throughout you adventure you will encounter enemies ranging from deranged animals to large insects. The enemies are ordered alphabetically. Ammonite Points: 100 These shelled creatures look like a squid in a conch shell and are as big as you. They move back in forth in a large area and in a wave-like pattern. They also have no attacks. Easily killed, easily avoided. Bat Points: 100 These bats are lager then Higgins head. They have three different patterns. They either fly in a wave-like pattern, like the Toucan. They can move up and down in a straight line like the Spider. At lastly , they can be hanging from the ceiling, then when you get to close, they swoop down in an angle. Like the Toucan, it is best to just avoid the Bats that are higher and only deal with the lower ones. For the hangers, it is best to cause them to come after you, then quickly run around them and attack. Easily killed, easily avoided. Cache Points: 200 These large pulsating sacks are about your size, {twice your size when inflated}. They are stationary on the ceilings and fire a spike projectile every two or three seconds. Attack it as soon it spews a projectile, before it has time to spew another. Coyote Points: 50 This tricksters will only appear when you pass a lone flower. After you pass the flower, the Coyote will come running from behind. If you kill it, you will receive a Gameboy shortly after. Either jump over it and then attack, or turn around as soon as you pass the flower and attack it twice. It seems to move a little bit faster one you hit it once. Note that sometimes the Gameboy will only appear when you kill the Coyote in a certain place. Crab Points: 10 These little crustaceans come up to about chin height, {or eye level if you count the claws in the air}. The move back and forth in a small area. There movements go from moving all the way to the end of its area, then half the length. Other then that, an easy kill. Dragonfly Points: 100 These little insects are smaller then you head. They move back and forth in a large area. They move in a wave like pattern, but then moves at an angle and the continues the cycle. Make sure you watch its pattern, but other then that, an easy kill. Emu Points: 200 These large birds are slightly larger then you. Similar to the Coyote, they run across the screen and have two hit points. They will change a into a lighter color when hit once, and their speed increases slightly. Easily killed, easily avoided. Firefly Points: 100 These insects are slightly larger then your head, {including wingspan}. Like the Dragonfly, they move back and forth in a large area. They move in a wave like pattern, but then moves at an angle and the continues the cycle. Make sure you watch its pattern, but other then that, an easy kill. Flatworm Points: 20 These worms are about chin height and swim up and down, in a small area. Easily killed, easily avoided. Frog Points: 200 These small frogs come up to about knee height. They stay stationary, using their vocal chambers until you get to close. Then they start chasing you, by hopping short by high jumps. These jump can even by walked under. It is best to take them out from a distance, but other then that, not much to worry about. At times, some Frogs start out as a darker color and will not move at all when you are near. Then when you hit it once, it changes into a lighter color and begin to chase you when you are near. Hermit Crab Points: 200 This shell creatures come up to about eye level, {with shell}. They move back in forth in a small area. If hit with the Hammer or Don-Don's rock, it will retreat into its shell and will come back out in about three or four seconds. If you walk over it when in this form, it will act like a rock, {tripping you and decreasing your Health meter by two}. So the only way to kill these creatures is with Red or Blue Taylor. Jellyfish Points: 200 They invertebrate come up to eye level. They move back and forth in a small area, and moves in angles. First the move up/left, descend, then up/right and then continues from there. No attacks so it is easily killed, or you can just avoided it. Knifefish Points: 500 These large fish are as large as your head and longer then your body. They jump out of the water in an arc and continue jumping in a wave-like pattern. They seem to pop out of nowhere, so it is best to take it slow when you are in an area with them. Maggot Points: 50 These little worm come up to about knee height. They crawl back and forth in a small area and have no attacks. Easily killed, easily avoided. Nimbus Points: 200 The nimbus is slightly larger then your head and slightly wider then you body. The living cloud has a humanoid face on it and the cloud acts like the bird enemies. It will move forward in a wave-like pattern. Other then that, an easy kill. Octopus Points: 100, 200 These sea creatures jump up from the small ponds of water every two to three seconds. Their jump height is about the middle of the screen, {depending on location}. Like the Frogs, they can start out as a darker color then turn to a lighter color when hit once. The darker colored Octopi will give you 200 points. Penguin Points: 200 These large birds are as big as you. The stay stationary in their spot for about two seconds, then they jump up in the air and slam back down. This causes three snowballs to fall down. The middle snowball is always aim for you, while the other two are on opposite sides. When you see it jump in the air, start moving around so the snowball does not hit you. Either quickly run up and attack Penguin, or take it out from a distance. Ptera Points: 10 This fish look like a Heterostraci, {prehistoric fish with no fins and an armored head}. There are about the size of your head, but the length of your body. They move slowly across the screen and have no attacks. Easily killed, easily avoided. Rondure Points: 10 These strange creatures are round, spiked creatures that are slightly smaller then Higgins' head. They cling against walls and platforms, while moving in a counter-clockwise fashion. Not real threatening, {unless the it is over a pit or other hazard, but try to take it out from a distance. Scorpion Points: 50 These little insect only come up to about waist height. They slowly chase you and after about a second, the hop and pause, and the begin to chase you again. Easily killed, easily avoided. Sea Anemone Points: 100 These sea plants come up to about eye level, when fully extended. They are stationary and have no attacks, {and you thought the Snails were pathetic}. Easily avoided, easily killed. Sea Horse Points: 100 They sea creatures are slightly larger then you. They move up and down in the same spot. They have no attacks and have two hit points. Easily killed, easily avoided. Skull Points: 50 These large skulls are nearly as big as you and stay stationary. They have two small fireballs, swirling about them. They pose very little danger and can be easily killed or avoided. Snail Points: 50 These large snails come up to about eye level, {with shell}, and are probably the slowest enemies I have ever seen. They move about a pixel every three to four seconds. Easily killed, easily avoided. Near the end of the game, you will find Snails that move backwards, {but still move towards you}, and have spikes on their shells. Snake Points: 100 These reptiles stand ready to spring and stand at eye level. They stay stationary until you get too close, then they chase you by hopping small jumps. Their hopping speed is about half your walking, so you should be able to dodge them easily, but I wouldn't recommend running under them, but you can jump over them. Just attack from a distance or run and attack. Snake, Spitting Points: 100 These snakes look exactly like the other Snakes, except they attack with a different tactic. Like the name suggest, these Snakes do not chase you by hopping about, but attack by staying stationary and spitting a small projectile. Assuming this is acid, this acid spit travels slowly and moves in a wave-like pattern. It spits every three seconds, so use the time to either attack from long or short-range. Spider Points: 100 These large spiders are about as big as Higgins head. They are striped and move up and down in a straight line. They are no real threat and can easily be killed or avoided. Swine Points: 50 These upright pigs are as big as you. They walk at a normal rate across the screen and have no attacks. Easily killed, easily avoided. Snow Hare Points: This rabbits are slightly larger then you and they stand on their hind legs. They hop in one spot, until you get to close. Then they chase you with large hops. Take them out from a distance. Toucan Points: 500 These black birds fly across the screen in a wave like pattern. They are no real threat, unless they are at your elevation. This is really the only time you should attack them. Easily killed and easily avoided. Also, they sometimes drop eggs. Vulture Points: 200 These large birds come up to eye level and have a wingspan that is slightly larger then your body. Like the Toucans, they move in a wave-like pattern across the screen. Although slightly more difficult to avoid, they are still an easy kill. --------- 7. Bosses --------- Here is the list of bosses, straight from the walkthrough. Each boss has twenty hit points and for killing a boss, you get 2000 points. Also note that if you die during a boss battle, you have to start at the beginning of the level. Plantae Fern Island HP: 20 This living wall is real easy. The large pulsating bulb unleashes to two spheres. The spheres move slowly around the level, trailing a vine behind it. Then when the spheres reach their limit, they begin to pulsate rapidly and launch straight towards you after about two seconds. You should be able to kill it before it even gets a chance to launch its projectiles. You can even destroy the spheres with two hits. There are two ways to deal with the wall. Either jump on the left platform and walk as far as you can to the edge. Then just keep pressing the attack button and the arc of the Hammer will reach the bulb and even take out the spheres. This may take longer though so I suggest the second way. Using the lower right platform, either jump attack it or use the same strategy as the last. King Hermit Crab Lake Island HP: 20 This large hermit crab acts like the smaller Hermit Crabs that you have met. Instead of moving back and forth though, it stays stationary. It pops out of its shell every three seconds or so, and fires a pulsating projectile. The King then moves back in its shell after about three seconds. The only time you can attack it is when it is out of its shell. This boss should not be too difficult. The best strategy is to stay on the left side and swim up and down. Then when it pops out of its shell and fires its projectile, quickly swim up and throw your Hammers. Try to time you attacks with its attacks. After seven hits, the King will turn a lighter color and begin to fire two projectiles at a time. Ant Lion Desert Island HP: 24 The Ant Lion will appear on screen every two seconds or so and stay on screen for about six seconds. It only appears in three location and all are directly under the platforms. Also, it starts from the right, then goes to the middle, then to the left, and the begins at the right side again. After three seconds on being on screen, the boss will spit a pulsating projectile straight at you. Then after another three seconds, it will fade away. There are two basic strategies to fight this boss. The first is to wait for it to appear on the left or right side of the screen and move to the opposite side. Then just throw you Hammers at it and dodge its attacks. The problem is though that you may not hit it, so it will take longer to fight. The second strategy is to again, wait for it to appear on the left or right side of the screen. The quickly go the opposite side of the screen and jump down into the sand. Now just attack it and dodge its attack. When it is about to appear in the middle, quickly jump to the platform and either wait for it to move again or just keep attacking until you need to dodge it. After eleven hits, it will turn a lighter color and spit a pulsating projectile twice, after a three second delay. Another thirteen hits and it will die. Kraken Ice Island HP: 32 The large octopus will disappear and reappear every three seconds, and stay on screen for about six seconds. The Kraken only appears on the left and right large platforms. Like the Ant Lion, the Kraken will fire a pulsating projectile at the three second mark and then of course disappear after another three seconds. There is two basic strategies to fighting this beast. The first is to stay on the highest platform and just throw Hammers while dodging its attack. Then just turn around when it moves. The other is to use the same strategy, only use the middle platform to attack. The problem with the second strategy is it is easier to get hit from the projectiles. After twenty hits, Kraken will become a lighter color and like the Ant Lion, it will fire another projectile at the three second mark. After another twelve hits, it will die. Flying Fox Cave Island HP: 32 This large bat will appear after three seconds or so, and stay on screen for about six seconds. On the third second will spit a pulsating orb and then disappear after another three seconds. It will start at the left, then it will hang from the middle, then the right side, and then back to the left. Like the last two bosses, you have to stick and move. When it is on the left or right side of the screen, jump attack it from the middle and when it is in the middle, jump on either the left and right platforms to you advantage. You can jump attack it from the left and right platform, when the bat is on the opposite side, but it is not that effective. After nineteen hits, it will change into a lighter color. So you should know that it will now spit a pulsating orb twice, after a two or three second delay. Another twelve hits and it will die. Sky Lord Cloud Island HP: 24 This large hawk will be a lot simpler then the last three bosses. It moves up and down on the right side of the screen and spits a pulsating projectile every five seconds or so. The best strategy I find is to jump on the lowest right side platform and attack from there. Then when it spits its projectile, jump onto the next platform and continue the assault. After eleven hits, the Sky Lord will become a lighter color and spit a projectile every two or three seconds. You may want to go to the left most platform and attack from there, so the projectiles do not hit you. Or you can just use the same strategy and just jump more often. Either way, another thirteen more hits and it will die. Chela Volcano Island HP: 32 I refuse to call this large insect a scorpion. It appears on the bottom right screen after two or three seconds and stays on screen for about eight seconds. It fires a pulsating orb after two or three seconds, and then another after another two or three seconds. After three seconds, it will use its claw tail to protect itself from harm, then disappear after about two seconds and begin the cycle again on the top right side of the screen. The only way to hit it when it is on the bottom, is to drop to the left side of the screen and jump high enough to throw your Hammers under the platform. If you feel a little daring, drop down on the right side of the spikes and quickly attack it as many times as you can. Then quickly jump back, before it attacks. As attacking it when it is on top, you can just jump attack from the middle platform. After nineteen hits, it will change into a lighter color and fire two projectiles at once after two or three seconds, and a third projectile after another two or three seconds. After another twelve hits, it will die. Diptera, Larva Dinosaur Island HP: 16 The large insect will appear every two or three seconds and stays on screen for about six seconds. It will then spit a pulsating projectile every two or three seconds. It only appears at the bottom right or top right side of the screen. The best strategy is of course to attack it from the top middle platform when it is on the top, and then attack it on the bottom middle platform when it is at the bottom. It is best to dodge its attack by dropping or jumping to the platform. Although you can just jump over the projectile. After three hits, it will change into a lighter color and now spit out two projectiles the first time, and one more before it moves again. This is why you may want to just drop down or jump up when it attacks. After another thirteen hits, it would seem to be destroyed. Diptera, Adult Dinosaur Island HP: 32 The large fly will appear at the top right screen. It will appear every two or three seconds and stays on screen for about six seconds. It will then spit a pulsating projectile every two or three seconds. It moves from top right, bottom right, top left, bottom left and then continues the cycle. Same strategy as before. Use the top middle platform to attack when it is on top and dodge its attack by jumping or dropping down. After nineteen hits, it will change into a lighter color and now spit out two projectiles the first time, and one more before it moves again. Again, this is a good reason to just drop down or jump up the next platform. After another thirteen hits, you have won the game. ---------- 8. Secrets ---------- Island Select This secret will allow you to choose any of the islands to start at. At the title screen, press Right, Left, Right, Left, A, B, A, B. This will open up a menu of all eight islands and you get to choose which island to start at. -------------- 9. Walkthrough -------------- Your adventure will go through eight islands, each having five levels and a boss at the end of the fifth level. Also, at the end of each stage, you will be treated to a bonus game. The objective is to choose one of the six eggs and receive whatever in it. The prizes are 50 points, 100 points, 200 points, 1000 points, 2000 points, or a 1-Up. Fern Island, FI Stage 1-1 Enemies - Snail Snake Toucan Begin moving forward and after two pieces of fruit, you will break open your first egg, which contains a Hammer. Continue forward, and after another piece of fruit, you will encounter your first enemy, the Snail. Cut through the Snail, and you will see another one behind it. After another two pieces of fruit, you will see another egg. This one contains a Skateboard. I would not bother because you will end up loosing it soon anyways. Continue forward and after avoiding a rock and a grabbing a piece of fruit, you will encounter a Snake. Remember to take these reptiles out from a distance. Continue forward, and after another two Snakes and a piece of Fruit, you will see another egg. This one contains a Heart, which will unleash Blue Taylor. Continue forward and after defeating two Snails and a rock, you will see a piece of fruit and encounter your first Toucan. Continue forward and after a piece of fruit and another Toucan, you will reach the exit. Stage 1-2 Enemies - Spider Snake Frog Toucan Begin moving forward and you will spot an egg. If you have a Hammer, the egg will give you a Skateboard. Continue forward and after a piece of fruit, you will encounter a Spider. The first one can be dodged by just by walking under it, but the next you may want to take out. Continue forward, and after a rock and piece of fruit, a Snake will block your path. Before you continue forward, there is a hidden egg, {which contains a Key}, under the next Spider. Continue forward and after three Spiders, a Snake, and another Spider, you will encounter a Frog. Take them out from a distance and continue forward. If you are on top of the hill, go back to the bottom, because there is an egg waiting for you. Be careful when opening this one up, because you may hit it into the wall. This egg contains a Spade, which will unleash Red Taylor. Continue up the hill and forward. You will find a Milk Bottle down the hill and a Toucan. Continue forward and after another Toucan, you will reach the exit. Stage 1-3 Enemies - Bat Skull Frog Begin moving forward and you will see an egg. It either contains a Hammer or Skateboard. Continue forward and after two pieces of fruit, you will encounter your first Bat. Take it out and continue forward. After another Bat, you will see a boulder bouncing your way. Wait for it to fall down a step, then run and jump over it. Continue forward and you will see an egg, which contains a Blue Taylor. Shortly after, you will encounter your first Skull. After the first two Skulls, you will see another egg, which contains a Fairy. Grab it and quickly run. You should be able to pass a Skull, Bat, Frog and another Skull, before you run out of time and stop near another Skull. Afterwards, only one Bat stands in your way to the exit. Stage 1-4 Enemies - Spider Snake Toucan Spitting Snake Snail Begin moving forward and get whatever is the egg. After two pieces of fruit, a Spider will appear. After a rock and another two Spiders, a Snake will appear. After the Snake, two Toucans and another Snake will appear. Shortly after, you will encounter your first Spitting Snake. Take it out from the distance and continue forward. After a Toucan and a piece of fruit, you will encounter two Snails. Continue forward and after two Spiders and a piece of fruit, jump over the rock and pause. There is a hidden egg a few steps from the right side of the rock. The Key contained inside will bring you to a sort of warp room, where you can skip Fern Island and go right to Lake Island. Use it if you wish, but I got a walkthrough to finish. Continue forward and after a piece of fruit, a Frog, another piece of fruit and a Snake, you will reach the exit. Stage 1-5 Enemies - Rondure Spider This is so far the longest level you will have to venture through. Also, the fruit is scarce in this level. Also note that this level has lava and not water in it. Begin jumping through the tree tops and watch out for a Rondure. Continue forward and when you see a Spider, go to ground level and look for a Spade to the left. One you got Red Taylor, begin moving forward again and look out for another Rondure. To make your journey easier, you can run through the lava now with Red Taylor. Continue forward and sooner or later, you will reach an area similar to where you found the Spade, {two high grounds with a low ground in the middle}. Here you can find a hidden egg with a Key in it. The Key will bring you to the bonus level. You should take this one, because you can get a Diamond, Heart or Spade. Either way, continue forward and after a few Spiders and Rondures, you will reach the entrance to the boss. Fern Island Boss Begin moving forward and jump on the second platform. Plantae HP: 20 This living wall is real easy. Lake Island, LI Stage 2-1 Enemies - Frog Toucan Snake Begin moving forward and get whatever is contained in the egg. After two pieces, you will begin to move up a hill and a boulder will be bouncing down. Dodge it and continue on. When you begin to go down the hill, there is a hidden egg at the foot of the hill. The egg will bring you to a room where a strange dinosaur will give you a Clover. Continue forward and you will two hit point Frog. Continue forward and after another Frog, you will reach a pit with a Toucan above it. Wait for it to come over the pit and hit it. It should drop an egg, which contains a Spade. Stage 2-2 Enemies - Snail Coyote Frog Toucan Begin moving forward and after two pieces of fruit and a rock, you will encounter two Snails. Afterwards, continue forward and grab whatever is in the egg. Continue up the hill and you will see a lone flower, which means a Coyote will come from behind when you pass the flower. If you want the Gameboy, jump over the Coyote where the piece of fruit is. Then attack it twice and the Gameboy will appear near the next rock. Continue forward and after a few Snails, you will begin moving down hill where a hidden egg lies at the foot of the hill. The Key inside will bring you to the bonus level. Continue forward and after a Frog, you will see a Toucan who happens to have an egg. The egg will has a Diamond in it, which will unleash Classy. Continue forward and after a Snail and Frog, you will reach the exit. Stage 2-3 Enemies - Skull Bat Bring a Hammer with you on this level, because this level is just a large pit where you have to jump out. If you even have Don-Don, then use it to just fly out. Just remember to look for fruit on the way up and to watch out for Skulls. This level is pretty straight forward, so I will not bother to write a walkthrough for this level. Also there is a Milk Bottle on the right side of the level, near the middle of the level. There is also a Diamond, {Classy}, on the left side of the stage near the end. When you reach the top, only one Bat stands in your way to the exit. Stage 2-4 Enemies - Hermit Crab Octopus Toucan There is a hidden egg at the foot of the second background mountain. Use it to go to the bonus level and get a Hammer and one of three icons, {Diamond, Heart, and Spade}. If you want to kill the Hermit Crabs, you may want to get either Blue or Red Taylor. Continue forward and jump over the water pit to encounter your first Hermit Crab. Kill or dodge it and continue forward. After another water pit, the next will have a Octopus in it. Take care of it and continue forward. After passing another Hermit Crab, a Octopus will be in the next water pit. Continue forward and after a dark platform, you will soon see a dark colored Octopus. Continue forward and after a while, you will start to jump on clouds. After the second cloud, a Toucan will appear. After the Toucan, only one Toucan left, {who happens to have a Heart in an egg}, before you reach the exit. Stage 2-5 Enemies - Sea Anemone Ptera Sea Horse Ammonite Jelly Fish This level is water level, so you may want to bring Classy. This level is also fairly short and easy. Begin moving forward and jump into the water. Be careful not to hit the spikes on the ceiling. Begin moving through the water and grab the Hammer. Continue forward and you should see you first Sea Anemone and two Pteras. The first Ptera will have a Milk Bottle. Continue forward and you will encounter your first Sea Horse and an Ammonite. Make sure to watch where the Ammonites movement pattern is. Continue forward and after another Sea Anemone, you will encounter a Jellyfish. Continue forward and after another Jelly Fish, you will encounter only a few more enemies. You will encounter a Sea Horse, and three Pteras. Before the exit, beware of two spiked mines, {I think}. The first moves up and down and the other moves side to side. The entrance to the boss is only a few dog paddles away. Lake Island Boss Move into the water and move into the cave. Beware of the spikes and make sure to keep your finger ready to swim. King Hermit Crab HP: 20 This large hermit crab acts like the smaller Hermit Crabs that you have met. Desert Island, DI Stage 3-1 Enemies - Swine Dragonfly Snail Frog Spider Begin moving forward and you will encounter two Swine. Afterwards, pick up whatever is in the egg and you will soon encounter a Dragonfly. Be careful of its movements. Grab whatever is in the next egg and move on. After another Dragonfly and a fire pit, watch out for another two Swine. Continue forward and you will encounter in order; Snail, Frog, Snail, Snail, Spider and another Spider. After the two Spiders, you will see a spring that can launch you over the fire pit and allow you to get the Milk Bottle in the air. Afterwards, only two Swine are left before the exit. Stage 3-2 Enemies - Bat Skull Bring a Hammer with you on this level. Begin moving forward and after a Bat, you will realize that this is a jumping level. When you land on the second platform, walk to the edge and draw out the hanging Bat. Kill it and continue on. After another Bat, continue jumping on the small platform and you will see another hanging Bat. Soon you will land on a large platform with a Heart, {Blue Taylor}, so grab it. Continue past another Bat and you will see a Skull. Continue to the next large platform and there is a hidden egg in the middle. The Key will bring you to a warp room. Continue forward and after another Skull, you will see a bone platform, which will rise and drop. Carefully past the platform and only one more hanging Bat before the exit. Stage 3-3 Enemies - Frog Spitting Snake Toucan Snake Bring a Hammer with you on this level. Note that this level has some coconuts that will fall when you near them, and they can still hurt you when the bounce off the ground. . Begin moving forward and after two Frogs, you will see a Spitting Snake. Take it out from a distance and continue on. Watch out for a coconut from above. After a rock, you will see another Spitting Spider. Continue on and after you jump over a pit and a fire pit, you will start to see Toucans. After the second Toucan, a Snake blocks the path. Continue up the hill and break open the egg with your Hammer. It will contain a Milk Bottle. Continue past another Snake and down the hill. After you jump over another fire pit, watch for another coconut from above. Continue on and you will see another coconut, just before another hill. Continue on and after a Frog and fire pit, you will reach the exit. Stage 3-4 Enemies - Spider Frog Spitting Snake Snake Toucan Bring a Hammer for this level. Begin moving forward and be careful of the two Spiders. Continue forward and after a rock and fire pit, you will see a boulder bouncing towards you. Jump over it and continue forward. When you begin moving up the hill, another boulder will bounce towards you. Continue past the boulder and you will see an egg that contains a Spade, {Red Taylor}. Continue past a Frog and Spider, and soon you will see a Milk Bottle. Grab it and be careful of the Spitting Snake. Continue on and you will see a Snake. After you kill the Snake, there is a hidden egg where it was located. The Key will bring you to a bonus level. Continue forward and after a Frog, Toucan and a Spitting Snake, you will reach the exit. Stage 3-5 Enemies - Vulture Scorpion Spider Emu Note that the sandpits can be walk on and even sink into, but just keep you finger ready to jump out of the pit. Begin moving forward and grab whatever is in the egg. You will encounter a Vulture shortly after. Continue past another Vulture and after a sand pit, you will see a large sand pit on a hill. You will encounter some Scorpions in these pits. Continue past the Scorpions and Spiders and you will see another Vulture and Scorpion. Continue up the hill and there is a hidden egg. Before you uncover, take out an Emu near the end of the hill. The Key in the hidden egg will bring you to a secret room, where you will get a Clover, {Don-Don}. Continue forward and after a Scorpion and you travel up the hill, a boulder will begin to bounce towards you. Continue forward and after another Emu, you will reach the entrance to the boss. Desert Island Boss Begin moving forward and keep jumping out of the sand. Quickly get to the platforms and the boss will appear out of the sand. Ant Lion HP: 24 The Ant Lion will appear on screen every two seconds or so and stay on screen for about six seconds. Ice Island, II Stage 4-1 Enemies - Spitting Snake Snake Spider Begin moving forward, grab whatever is in the egg and watch out for a Spitting Snake. Continue on and after a fire pit, you will see a Snake and two Spiders. Under the second Spider is an egg, which contains a Heart, {Blue Taylor}. Continue forward and the next fire pit you see has a hidden egg on the right side of it. The Key will bring you to a bonus level. Continue forward and you will have to do a jumping course. You will encounter four Spiders on the course. Afterwards, only a Spitting Snake blocks the exit. Stage 4-2 Enemies - Coyote Spider Toucan Snail Frog Begin moving forward and get whatever is in the egg. You will soon see a lone flower, so beware of the Coyote. Remember, you have to jump over it first then kill it, before you can get a Gameboy. The Gameboy will appear just after the Spider. Continue forward and climb up the hill. There is a hidden egg at the top. The Key will bring you to a bonus level, with a Hammer, Diamond, Heart and Spade. Continue forward and if you did not get the Key, watch for another Coyote. Continue forward and after a rock, you will encounter a Toucan and another Spider. After the Spider, you will see another lone flower. After the Coyote, only a Snail and Frog are left before the exit. Stage 4-3 Enemies - Sea Horse Ammonite Sea Anemone Ptera This level is a water level, so you may want to bring Classy. Begin moving forward and beware of the bubbles and black mines. Continue through the small water area and you will soon get out. Jump through the water and get into the next water cavern. After another bubble, you will encounter two Sea Horses. After the Sea Horses, you will see a large pit and an Ammonite. Continue forward and you will see a Sea Anemone and begin to encounter Pteras. After two more Pteras and a black mine, you will soon reach the exit. Stage 4-4 Enemies - Snow Hare Vulture Penguin Begin moving forward and you will encounter a Snow Hare. Take it out from a distance and continue on. When you get to the bottom of the hill, a Vulture will pop up. Continue up the hill and after the fire pit, a boulder will bounce up the hill, {the laws of gravity do not apply}. Continue up and down the hills and watch out for two Snow Hares. After you go down a hill and pass a rock, go up the next hill and you will encounter a penguin. Quickly take it out, before it causes snowballs to fall on you. Continue forward and you will see a Vulture and an egg. The egg contains a Clover, {Don-Don}. With Don-Don, you can just fly high in the air and pass all the enemies, but I will list the enemies in order just in case. After a fire pit, another boulder will defy gravity and bounce up the hill. On top of the next hill is a Penguin. On the last hill is a Snow Hare and a Penguin. Stage 4-5 Enemies - Skull Take a Hammer into this level. This level is a large ice fortress, so the floors are slippery. Also, the ceilings can have stalactite and they fall when you get to close. Begin moving forward and after two Skulls, you will see a stalactite near the rock. Continue forward and after three Skulls, you will find an egg, which contains a Heart, {Blue Taylor}. Continue forward and watch out for another stalactite beside the pit. Make sure to take a running start to jump over this one. Continue on and you will see a ice platform. Be careful with these because the break under you after a while. After the ice platform, you will see another two more stalactite on this platform. Continue forward and you will encounter a Skull, and five stalactites along the way to the entrance of the boss. Ice Island Boss Begin moving forward and jump onto the left large platform and the boss will appear on the right large platform. If you still have Blue Taylor, this battle will be a lot easier, {although it already is pretty easy}. Kraken HP: 32 The large octopus will disappear and reappear every three seconds, and stay on screen for about six seconds. Cave Island, CI Stage 5-1 Enemies - Frog Spider Toucan Bring a Hammer and be careful of coconuts. Begin moving forward and after a Frog, you will have to jump of a large cliff onto land. Continue forward and after a Spider and a small jump, you will climb a cliff and see a gravity defying boulder, on your way down. When you reach the bottom, beware of a coconut in the trees. Continue forward and as you go up the hill and down it, three boulders will assault you. At the bottom of the hill, there is a hidden egg. The Key will bring you to a secret room and you will receive a Clover, {Don-Don}. Continue forward and you will see a Toucan, who happens to have an egg that contains another Clover. Continue forward and after a coconut and a Frog, you will reach the exit. Stage 5-2 Enemies - Skull Bat This is another one of those "climb out of the large pit" levels. You may want to use Don-Don to fly out of the level. Just remember to get fruit on the way up. There is a egg with a Heart, {Blue Taylor}, at the very beginning on the left side. Because of the simplicity of the level, I will not write a walkthrough for it. Know that there is of course Skulls in the area, and a few Bats. Stage 5-3 Enemies - Frog Spider Coyote Bring a Hammer and begin moving forward. After a Frog and Spider, you will see a lone flower. So watch out for a Coyote and if you want the Gameboy, make sure to jump over it before you kill it. Continue forward and after a Spider and three Frogs, there will be a hidden egg up on the right hill, after the third Frog. The Key will take you to a bonus level. Continue forward and after two Spiders, you will see another lone flower. After that Coyote, you will see yet another lone flower. Finish the last Coyote and head for the exit. Stage 5-4 Enemies - Bat Skull Bring a Hammer and know that the level has lava, {so you may want to bring Red Taylor}. Begin moving forward and you will see a hanging Bat. The next area is another jumping course over the lava. After the second jump, you will see a Skull. Continue forward and after another hanging Bat and two Skulls, you will land on a wide but thin platform. In the middle is a hidden egg and a flying Bat. The Key will bring you to a warp room. Continue forward and you will see fireballs flying vertically out of the lava. The spew out every three seconds or so. Continue past the fireball and you will see another Skull. Continue forward and after two bone platforms and a flying Bat, you will reach the exit. Stage 5-5 Enemies - Bat Hermit Crab Ptera Ammonite Jellyfish This level is part water and part land, so I you can take either path to the same destination. The land path is easier, but the water path has more fruit and a Milk Bottle. I will write a walkthrough for both paths and bring a Hammer. Land Begin moving forward and after a Bat, jump into the water and back onto the next land. You will see a Hermit Crab as soon as you jump on land. Continue forward and after a Bat in the middle of the land, you will see another Hermit Crab and more water. Jump in and jump onto the platforms. Continue jumping on the platforms and after two Bats, you will see land. After a Hermit Crab and a Bat, you will see another platform to jump on. Only a Bat and a Hermit Crab are left before the entrance to the boss. Water Remember to look out for bubbles and black mines. Also be careful of the spikes on the ceiling and in the pits. Begin moving forward and after the Bat, jump into the water. Continue swimming through the caverns and you will see a Ptera and an Ammonite. At the end of the cavern, watch out for a bubble. Continue forward and after another Ptera, you will see a Jellyfish. Continue into another cavern and watch for another Ptera. When you reach a another Ammonite, there is a Milk Bottle in the pit under it. Continue forward and after another Ammonite, you will see the end of the water area and a black mine. Jump onto land and only a Hermit Crab stands in front of the exit. Cave Island Boss Begin moving forward and watch out for the spikes. Jump onto the far right platform and wait for the boss to appear on the left. Flying Fox HP: 32 This large bat will appear after three seconds or so, and stay on screen for about six seconds. Cloud Island, CI Stage 6-1 Enemies - Octopus Hermit Crab Frog Crab Toucan Bring a Hammer and begin moving forward. The first pit of water has a dark colored Octopus in it. Take it out and continue forward. After two Hermit Crabs, you will see a Frog, who will happen to drop a Milk Bottle. Continue forward and use the moving cloud to help you across the water pit. The next water pit has another dark color Octopus in it. Continue forward and you will meet you first Crab. Take it out and continue forward. After a Hermit Crab, you cross an area of pits with clouds hovering above them. What out for the middle one, it will fall soon after you land on it. When you reach the end, and Frog will block your path. Continue forward and after a Hermit Crab and a Toucan, you will reach the exit. Stage 6-2 Enemies - Ptera Ammonite Jellyfish This level is a water level, so you may want to bring Classy. Do not forget to look out for black mines and bubbles. Also, look out for spikes on the ceiling and floors. Begin moving forward and jump into the water. Continue swimming and you will encounter a Ptera, Ammonite and another Ptera. When you see a black mine, there will be two Jellyfish close by. You will see a Hammer under a black mine soon, so pick it up if you did not bring one. Continue swimming and you will see two Ammonites. Continue swimming and after a Ptera, black mine, and another Ptera, you will reach the exit. Stage 6-3 Enemies - Skull Bat Another one of those "climb out of the large pit" levels. Again, I will not write a walkthrough for these levels, because they are pretty straight forward. Again, use Don-Don for a quick trip through it and do not forget to get fruit on the way up. There is a egg with a Spade, {Red Taylor}, in it on the left side near the middle of the level. Soon after the egg, is a Milk Bottle. On the right side of these two items is a boulder, so beware. Also, when you reach the top, you have to jump over a rock to get to the exit and a Bat will fly towards you, just as you reach the exit. If you still have Red Taylor, you can just destroy the rock. Stage 6-4 Enemies - Frog Coyote Toucan Bring a Hammer and begin moving forward. After the pit, walk up the hill and you will see a Frog. Jump to the next area and you will see a lone flower, so watch out for a Coyote. If you jump and kill it, the Gameboy will appear next to another lone flower. The next Gameboy will appear next to a Toucan. When you begin to walk up another hill, you will see another lone flower and an egg. If you have a Hammer it will be a Skateboard, which will pose a problem with the Coyote. If you want the Gameboy from this Coyote, you have to move up the next hill, dodge the Frog and kill the Coyote, because the Gameboy would have appeared in the hill. Continue forward and after a few jumps and hills, you will reach the last lone flower and the exit. You have to be quick to kill the Coyote and get the Gameboy, before the exit. Stage 6-5 Enemies - Nimbus Spider Do not bring a Hammer, because there is an egg right away and the level is a sky level. Begin moving forward and grab the egg. Begin jumping on the clouds and watch out for your first Nimbus. After the Nimbus, watch for a Spider. Continue forward and after another Nimbus and Spider. You will reach a large cloud. Continue forward and after two Spiders and two Nimbus', you will reach another jumping area. Be careful when jumping on the moving clouds. After another Nimbus and a few more clouds to jump on, you will reach the entrance to the boss. Be careful on the last cloud platform, because it will fall soon after you land on it. Cloud Island Boss Begin moving forward and jump on the clouds. The boss awaits you on the right side. Sky Lord HP: 24 This large hawk will be a lot simpler then the last three bosses. Volcano Island, VI Stage 7-1 Enemies - Frog Octopus Knifefish Begin moving forward and grab whatever is in the egg. Continue forward and after a Frog, you will reach a jumping area. Be careful of Octopi and Knifefish. After the first Octopus, you will see a Knifefish soon after. Continue forward and after another Knifefish, you will reach some cloud platforms. Be careful of the Octopus under the second cloud platform and be careful of the third platform, because it will fall soon after you land on it. The next cloud platform you see has an Octopus under it and will fall. Continue forward and after three more Octopi, you will reach the exit. Stage 7-2 Enemies - Spider Frog Spitting Snake Toucan Bring a Hammer and begin moving forward. After a Spider, you will see a dark colored Frog. Continue forward and after two Spiders and a Frog, you will encounter a Spitting Snake. Behind the Spitting Snake is a hidden egg and the Key will bring you to a bonus level. Continue forward You will soon see another egg, which contains a Milk Bottle. Continue forward and after two Toucans and a Spider, you will see a boulder bouncing towards you. Continue forward and after a Spider, another boulder will bounce down a steep hill. A few more steps, {and a rock}, and you will reach the exit. Stage 7-3 Enemies - Coyote Frog Toucan Bring a Hammer and as soon as you enter the level, you will see a lone flower. The Gameboy should appear just as the hill declines. Continue forward and watch for a coconut in the third tree. After the coconut, you will see another lone flower. If you want the Gameboy, you will need to give the Coyote some time to run up the hill, so that the Gameboy does not appear in the hill. Continue forward and after a Frog, you will see two Toucans, and the first one has an egg. The egg contains a Spade, {Red Taylor}. Continue forward and when you run up the hill, you will see another lone flower. Again, give the Coyote some running room so that the Gameboy does not appear into the hill. Continue forward and after a Frog, only one more lone flower and Coyote before the exit. You probably will not be able to get this Gameboy, but it will appear on the rights side of the exit. Stage 7-4 Enemies - Bat This level has lava in it, so you may want to bring Red Taylor. Begin moving forward and after a hanging Bat, you will reach a fire spewing area. After the first fireball, the first wide platform you reach has a hidden egg. The Key will bring you to a secret room, where you will get a Diamond, {Classy}. Jump to the next wide platform and be careful of the two fireballs, spewing from the lava. Continue forward and after a hanging Bat, you will reach a jumping area with small platforms and fireballs in between. Continue forward and after a flying Bat, you will find some bone platforms and the exit. Stage 7-5 Enemies - Snake Snail Firefly This level has lave in it, so you may want to bring Red Taylor. Bring a Hammer and begin moving forward. After a Snake, you will see a pit of lava and a fireball spewing out. After the pit, you will see first spiked Snail, but they are the same as the others. Continue forward and after another spiked Snail and a few pits of lava, you will encounter a Snake. Continue forward and after another fireball spewing pit of lava, you will see an egg. DO NOT GET IT! It is an Eggplant, so just avoid it. After the egg you will encounter your first Firefly. Continue forward and you will see a large volcano in the background, spewing magma bombs. The magma bombs have a pattern, {two to the left and one to the right}, so watch the pattern and continue forward. After another volcano, you will have to jump over more pits of lava. After the third pit, you will reach an area where the lava is pouring out of the land. You will have to carefully jump in between them and reach the entrance to the boss. Volcano Island Boss Begin moving forward and jump on the middle platform. The boss will appear on the bottom right side of the screen. Chela HP: 32 I refuse to call this large insect a scorpion. Dinosaur Island, DI Stage 8-1 Enemies - Snow Hare Vulture Penguin Bring a Hammer and begin moving forward. After two Snow Hares, you will see a Vulture flying over a pit. Continue forward and you will see a Penguin on top of the hill. After the Penguin, you will see another Vulture flying over a pit. Continue forward and you will find another Penguin on top of the hill and two Snow Hares at the bottom. Continue forward and once you passed a fire pit, you will reach another hill with a boulder bouncing down it. Continue forward and after a Snow Hare, Vulture, and a Penguin, you will reach the exit. Stage 8-2 Enemies - Jellyfish Sea Anemone Ptera Sea Horse Bat Ammonite This level is a water level, so you may want to bring Classy with you. Also, beware of bubbles and black mines. Bring a Hammer and jump into the water. Continue swimming and you will encounter a Jellyfish and a Sea Anemone. After going through a tight spiked area, you will see a Petra and a bubble. Continue swimming and a Sea Horse will block your way. Continue swimming and after a black mine, you will see another Jellyfish and Sea Anemone. Continue swimming and get out of the water. Continue past the Bat, grab the Milk Bottle and jump into the next water area. After a bubble and black mine, you will see another Jellyfish and a Ammonite. Continue swimming past the next black mine and after a Ammonite and two Pteras, you will reach the exit. There is a Hammer near the exit if you want it. Stage 8-3 Enemies - Firefly This level is all about lava and clouds, so just bring a Red Taylor to go through it. Begin moving forward and take out the only enemy in this level. Continue through the lava fields and pits. The second lava pit spews fireballs, so watch it. Continue through another lava field and passed a volcano. You will reach a large pit of lava with a could moving back and forth. Continue through it and passed another volcano. After the volcano is another lava field and at the end is a large hill with two boulders. Continue through a lava field, a volcano and another lava field. You will reach another pit of lava with a cloud. Cross it and another pit to reach the exit. Stage 8-4 Enemies - Hermit Crab Bat Ptera This level has land and large pools of water. Bring a Hammer and begin moving forward. After two Hermit Crabs, you will see the first pool of water. There is only a black mine and a piece of fruit in it. Swim all the way to the end, so that the hanging Bat does not come down on you. Continue forward and after another hanging Bat and Hermit Crab, you will see the second pool. This one has a bubble, two black mines and a piece of fruit. Swim all the way to the end and jump up to meet a Hermit Crab. Continue forward and after another Hermit Crab and Bat, you will see an egg. The egg contains a Diamond, {Classy}. Continue into the next pool, which contains two bubbles, a piece of fruit and a Ptera. Swim all the way to the end and only a Hermit Crab stands in front of the exit. Stage 8-5 Enemies - Frog Maggot Cache Flatworm Bat This level has drops of liquid, falling from the ceiling, so watch yourself. Bring a Hammer and begin moving forward. After a few jumps, you will see a drop forming on the ceiling. Move quickly and take out the Frog. Continue forward and after a few jumps, you will encounter a Maggot and a Cache. You will not be able to take out this Cache, so quickly take out the Maggot and run off. Continue through another Maggot and jump onto the next platform. Watch out for another drop from the ceiling and continue forward. You will see an egg, but do not jump on it. Attack from the platform and grab the Milk Bottle. Continue forward and after another Maggot, jump into the pool of water. After a few Flatworms and a Maggot, you will see a Cache on the ceiling. Take it out and continue swimming. After another Maggot and Flatworm, you will see another Cache. Continue swimming and after another Flatworm and Maggot, you will reach the end of the pool. Watch out for the Bat when coming out and continue forward. After a few jumps, you will see another Bat and a drop forming on the ceiling. Continue forward and after a Frog and a hanging Bat, you will soon reach the entrance to the final boss. Dinosaur Island Boss Begin moving and jump onto the top middle platform. The boss will appear on the top right side of the screen. Diptera, Larva HP: 16 The large insect will appear every two or three seconds and stays on screen for about six seconds. Diptera, Adult HP: 32 The large fly will appear at the top right screen. Ending Higgins appears in a room and holds an egg. He throw the egg and the egg unleashes Tina. Tina then hugs, kisses and jumps up for joy as a message appears. Higgins and Tina thanks and congratulates you. "Congratulations! You have saved your lovely Tina from the monsters." Higgins and Tina are then seen on a beach, looking onto an island. Final Score: 231300 ---------- 10. Review ---------- My reviews are based on the games own merit. Graphics = 3.5 Sound/Music = 3 Gameplay = 3.5 Overall = 3.5 Graphics = 3 ------------- Graphically, this game is pretty good. The backgrounds are quite detailed, having palm trees, mountains, glaciers and what not. Of course though, most of the backgrounds were just repeated like a bad Hana Barbera cartoon. The Graphics on the enemies are decent enough. You can tell what the enemies were and there was no blending into the background. It would been nice for a small amount of more detail in the enemies though. For instance, the Vulture look like two wings with a head attached. As for animations, I have no complaints. It is one of those games where it really does not need many. Sound/Music = 3 ------------- They did a good job of porting the Adventure Island II Sound/Music to the Gameboy. Although it is at a higher pitch and has more blips and squeaks. Same with the Sound FX. It would be better if they focused on just remaking the Sound/Music for the Gameboy's hardware and not just try to port it. Also, more Sound FX would have been nice. Gameplay = 3.5 ------------- If you got bored of the first Adventure Island for Nintendo, this version will probably make you come back to try again. Unlike the first Adventure Island, you do not cross large levels and having few items to get, {which I did not like}. This is a much better game. With the Dinosaurs, you have different abilities including the type of terrain that best suits them. The levels are shorter but many. The bosses are a lot more cooler, as well as the amount of enemies. However, there are some drawbacks. One is that it may get repetitive. It would have been nice to have more then just a Hammer, and possible one or two more Dinosaurs to the pack. One last thing that would have been nice is a save or password system, even though you can probably beat this game in under five hours. Overall = 3.5 ------------- Overall, if you enjoyed the first one, {or you hated the first one}, I suggest you give this a try. ------------- 11.
