Cadillacs and Dinosaurs General FAQ Version 2.2 Last Updated: 12/23/06 CONTENTS - Introduction - Version History - Status Indicators - Controls - Characters - Items - Enemies - Bosses - Levels - Credits \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ INTRODUCTION This is a general FAQ with walkthrough for the game, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, on the arcade. Cadillacs and Dinosaurs is a beat-em-up game, like Streets of Rage and Final Fight, that was released by Capcom. The gameplay is more similar to Streets of Rage since it also has some special moves, rather than just punching and jump kicking. This is quite a unique beat-em-up in a way that it has guns. Most other beat-em-ups just have knives, swords, and pipes. Unfortunately, this game is arcade exclusive and has never been ported to home consoles. There was a sequel to this game on the Sega CD called Cadillacs and Dinosaurs: The Second Cataclysm. I've never played the second game, but from the pictures I've seen, it doesn't look like it's a beat-em-up. If you have any questions, comments, or would like to contribute anything, just email me or post on the board. You'll be credited for any contributions you make. The game is for up to three players, but it can also be set to two players. Depending on how the arcade machine you are playing is set up, the stats may appear a little different. In a 2-player game, Player 1 stats are on the left and Player 2 on the right. In a 3-player game, Player 1 is on the left, Player 2 in the middle, and Player 3 on the right. Character Icon - shows a picture of the character you're playing and indicates these are his/her stats. Health Meter - the yellow bar with your character's name at the top. You lose health whenever you're hit. If you lose all your health, you'll lose a life. In a 2-player game, health meters appear longer than in a 3-player game. The amount of health is the same on both modes, though. Lives - the number beside the character icon, preceded by an "=" sign. This is how many lives you have left. If you run out of lives, it's game over and you'll have to insert another coin to continue. Depending on how the arcade machine is set, you'll begin and continue the game with anywhere from 1 to 4 lives. Score - the blue numbers above your character's health meter. You gain points by defeating enemies, picking up certain items, and by completing levels. Depending on how the machine is set, you'll get extra lives at either first 300,000 points and every 700,000 points afterwards, or first 500,000 points and every 1,000,000 points after, or you may not get any at all. Player Rank - number between score and character's health meter. This is your rank based on your score. After beating the game or if you get a game over and don't continue, you get to enter your initials if your score is high enough. If you leave the game running for a while without playing, the Top 10 screen will come up displaying the top ten players based on score. Enemy Icon - icon below your character's. This shows a picture of the current enemy you are attacking along with their stats. Enemy Health - the bar beside the enemy icon with the enemy's name on top. This is the health meter for the current enemy you're attacking. Deplete all their health to defeat them. Gun Ammo - a row of bullets at the bottom of the screen. This stat only appears when you grab a gun. It shows how many shots you have left with a number above the row of bullets. If you run out of ammo, you can't shoot anymore. You'll just throw the gun or swing it if you try to shoot without bullets. Timer - this appears in the middle of the screen if you stay in an area for too long. You have a certain amount of time to defeat all enemies in each section of the levels. If you run out of time, you'll lose a life, even at full health. The timer stat affects all players onscreen. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ CONTROLS Joystick - used for moving character in all eight directions. Attack Button - press to punch. Jump Button - press to jump. Other Moves Run - press the joystick any direction once, then press and hold it in the same direction again to run (e.g. press Right, hold Right to run to the right). You can run in all eight directions. While running, you are also able to switch your directions without stopping. Like if you're running to the right, you can rotate the joystick to the Up/Right Diagonal position and continue to rotate it more to the Left, causing you to switch to the left. This can be useful at times, rather than stopping and pressing a direction twice. By doing this, it is also possible to run around in a circle. Defensive Move - usually called a special by most people, press the Attack and Jump buttons simultaneously to perform this move. Your character does an attack that hits all enemies in front and back. Your character will also be invincible during this move. This move is useful when surrounded by enemies or for breaking out of enemy attack combos. Like in practically all beat-em-up games, this move will consume a little of your health each time it's used and it hits something. Offensive Move - press Down, Up + Attack. Jack does a forward flip kick, Hannah rolls on the ground and ends with an elbow attack, Mustapha a back flip kick, and Mess a forward flip where he comes down crushing enemies. Only Hannah's and Mustapha's offensive moves are useful; Jack and Mess' are hard to hit with. The best one is Mustapha's. You can link it to combos for major damage and it also almost acts like a defensive move. It can even knock away enemies that jump at you to try to crush you. Hannah's is good for hitting small enemies or if you're surrounded and need to knock away some enemies fast. Grab Enemy - simply walk all the way to an enemy and you'll automatically grab them. It's best to approach bosses and sub-bosses from the top or bottom since they're likely to attack you from the front. With the exception of the dinosaur bosses, regular dinosaur enemies can't be grabbed. Throw - with the enemy grabbed, press Left or Right + Attack to throw them. They will be thrown in the direction you pressed. Grab Combo - with the enemy grabbed, press the Attack button up to three times to punch/knee/head bash them. There are three ways to end the grab combo. You can give the enemy another bash, throw them, or link your offensive move. For maximum damage, give the enemy two bashes and end with an offensive move if you are Mustapha. With the others, end with a throw. Attack Combo - hit an enemy by pressing the Attack button up to four times to do a combo. Unlike other beat-em-ups, this move does major damage in this game and decent damage to bosses. This is one of the moves you'll want to use a lot. Like your grab combo, you can also end this combo three ways: another punch/kick, an offensive move, or throw. Another punch/kick is the easiest way to end it. You can link an offensive move anytime during the first three hits, but before the fourth. It can be hard to link the offensive move after the third hit, though. For a throw, you must hit an enemy three times, then press Up + Attack to throw them forward or Down + Attack to throw them behind you. Jump Kick - jump and press the Attack button while in the air. This move is weak and doesn't really seem to be useful. Stick to dive kicks instead. Dive Kick - a better version of the jump kick, press the Attack button while at the peak of your jump. The attack does decent damage and will knock down regular enemies. Bosses will get knocked down only if the attack hits as a counter. The attack also does more damage when it hits as a counter (e.g. it does about 40% damage if you hit a charging fat boy, otherwise it does about 20% damage). Dash Attack - press the Attack button while running. Jack will do a slide kick, Hannah a flying knee bash, Mustapha a flying kick, and Mess does a flying body dive attack. This is also another great move in the game. It can hit multiple times doing major damage from a distance. At close range, it hits once and does decent damage. Mustapha has the best one and also his has the longest range and great priority over many enemy attacks. You can just keep dash attacking enemies back and forth with him. Mess' is also good, only it has shorter range and less priority. Jack and Hannah's dash attacks are okay. Hannah seems to get knocked out of her dash attack quite a lot by certain bosses and sometimes even regular enemies knock her out of it. Jack is the least likely one to get knocked out of his dash attack since his is a slide kick that hits low, but his is the hardest to hit with since it has the shortest range. Running Jump Kick - a little better than the regular jump kick, while running, jump and press the Attack button while in the air. Mess does a dash uppercut, instead of a jump kick. This attack is also weak, but it can hit multiple times and it also knocks down enemies, even most bosses. Mess has the best one and is the easiest to hit multiple times with. The other three characters do jump kicks with shorter range and are harder to hit with. This move is the most useful for fighting the last boss. Against the last boss, though, it's Hannah who has the best running jump attack. Wall Jump Kick - with Hannah or Mustapha, jump towards a wall, then jump away from the wall when you touch it and press the Attack button while in the air. After jumping off a wall, you can either do a regular jump kick or a dive kick. It's a little harder to do a dive kick from here, though. For a dive kick, you still press the Attack button while at the peak of jumping off the wall. This move can only be done by Hannah and Mustapha. Pick Up Item - press the Attack button while standing over an item. Pick Up Barrel - press Forward + Attack while standing beside a barrel. Disarm - do your defensive move when you have a weapon to disarm yourself. You won't lose any health doing this, just as long as you don't hit anything. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ CHARACTERS You have four characters to choose from. Like in many games, each character has their own strengths and weaknesses. At the character select screen, you can see that the game rates their power, speed, skill and lists their special ability. Power is how strong a character is, speed is how fast they move, skill is how easy they are to use, and special ability is their greatest strength. Jack and Mess' ratings are about right, but some of Hannah's and Mustapha's are somewhat off. Mainly their power rating is what's completely off. -Jack Tenrec- Power: 4 Speed: 3 Skill: 3 Ability: Good Ability Overall: I think what they mean by "Good Ability" is that Jack's supposed to be the balanced character of the game. By looking at his ratings, you can see that he is balanced. He does have a weakness, though, and that is he's the hardest to use. He isn't hard to use, just a little harder than the other three. He doesn't really have any problems dealing with regular enemies. It's against some bosses where he may have more trouble than the others. Usually the balanced character would be the best choice for beginners, but not this time. Jack is still good, but is best used by intermediate players. -Hannah Dundee- Power: 2, should really be a 4 Speed: 4 Skill: 5, more like a 4 Ability: Item Skilled Overall: Do not be fooled by her power rating; she is not that weak. She is just as strong as Jack and Mustapha and should have a 4 for her power rating. None of the characters are actually weak at all. The way Hannah's ability is listed may have you think that she has several abilities with several different items that the other characters don't have. She really only has a special ability with two weapons, the knife and broken stick. She is able to stab multiple times, while the other characters stab once, knocking the enemy away. If you take a look at her ratings, which should all be 4's, you'll see that she is overall a powerful character. She does still have a weakness and it's not power. Her true weakness is range; she has the shortest range of the characters. Range isn't really any problem against regular enemies, but against certain bosses like Vice T., she tends to get knocked around quite a lot. She is still a great character and is a great choice for beginners. -Mustapha Cairo- Power: 3, should be a 4 Speed: 5 Skill: 3, should definitely be a 5 Ability: Flying Kicks Overall: Like Hannah, his power rating should also really be a 4. This guy has nothing but strengths. Besides being strong like everyone else, he's also the fastest, has the longest range, and has some of the best moves in the game with great priority. His ability is listed as "Flying Kicks". His flying kick is one of the best, if not the best move in the game. It has great range and priority over many attacks that you can just keep dash kicking enemies back and forth. Mustapha's other best moves are his dive kick, defensive attack, and offensive attack which can be linked to combos for major damage. As for any weaknesses, I don't know; he doesn't appear to have any. All these strengths and no weaknesses make him the easiest to use and best character in the game. He's definitely the best choice for beginners. -Mess O'Bradovich- Power: 5 Speed: 2 Skill: 4 Ability: High Powered Overall: Just like his power rating says, he's the strongest of the characters. His strength isn't too noticeable on regular enemies, though. He only has to hit them one time less than the others to defeat them. Fighting bosses is where his true power shows. Being "High Powered", he is able to defeat them faster. Mess' attack combo does about 75% damage to bosses, while the others do about 50%. His other moves will also do a little more damage. Besides being the strongest, he also has a little more stamina than the other characters. He takes slightly less damage from attacks, allowing him to take one more hit or two. It may just be a little, but sometimes a little can make a difference. Mess' weakness would be in his speed. He's the slowest, but not that slow like Max from Streets of Rage. So don't let that stop you from selecting him. He can still run like everyone else and if you abuse his running jump attack, you can get around a lot faster. You can just fly through the level. He is another great choice for beginners and is probably the best to use for speedruns. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ ITEMS Throughout the game you'll find various items. Most are hidden inside barrels and other objects, while some are dropped by defeating certain enemies. There are three types of items: health recovery, weapons, and point items. A health recovery item is usually food that will recover any lost health. There are many different types of food, each recovering a certain amount of health. Weapons are another way for attacking enemies. There are several types of weapons ranging from knives, bombs, clubs, swords, and even guns. Guns have a limited amount of ammo. If you run out, you'll have to find bullets to shoot again. If you're hit while holding a weapon, you may drop it and it may disappear. Whether or not you drop the weapon and it disappears seems to be random, but the guns seem to have the highest chance of disappearing. The last type of item is a point item, which just gives you points. -Health Recovery- Chocolate (candy bar) - restores about 15% of health. Coffee (cup) - drink this to recover about 15% health. Croissant (croissant) - gives back about 15% health. Donut (donut) - recovers about 15% health. Gum (gum) - chew on this for about 15% health. Cake (piece of cake) - about 33% health. Paffe (sundae) - gives you about 33% health. Potato (fries) - side order to go with the burger, about 33% health. Pudding (ice cream) - looks like ice cream, restores about 33% health. Salad (salad) - recovers about 33% of your health. Burger (burger) - eat this to restore 50% of your health. Hotdog (hotdog) - gives you 50% health. Pizza (pizza slice) - restores 50% health. Lobster (lobster) - about 66% health recovered. Steak (dinner tray) - pick this up to recover 80% health. Barbecue (ham) - will completely replenish all health. -Weapons- Stone (stone) - throw at enemies to knock them away. Throw it while running for more damage and to knock them further away. Stones come in brown or grey colors; both are the same. Grenade (grenade) - throw this at enemies to blow them up and knock them away. Try throwing it while running for more damage and to knock them further back. It can also blow up other enemies nearby the one thrown at. Dynamite (dynamite) - just like the grenade, only it takes a while to explode after it's been thrown. Knife (knife) - use it to stab enemies and knock them down fast. Hannah has an ability with it where she can stab enemies multiple times before knocking them down. The others just stab once. From a distance, it can be thrown. Try throwing it when running to cause more damage and knock the enemy further away. Rod (stick) - the worst weapon in the game, you attack by swinging it at enemies and it does decent damage, but slows your attack down. You are better off just using your attack combo. Avoid this weapon at all costs. Stick (broken stick) - after hitting enemies with the rod a certain amount of times, it breaks and becomes a better weapon. It has the same effect as a knife. Club (club) - the most deadly weapon in the game, if you hold the Attack button long enough you can actually do 100% damage and by that I mean to an enemy with a lifebar the size as yours. Even with quick swings the club still does major damage. Unfortunately, it slows your attack down and is best avoided. Torch (club on fire) - same as the club, only it does less damage and engulfs enemies in flames. You should also avoid getting this weapon. B. Knife (Butcher's sword) - this weapon is used by the second boss, Butcher. It is also the only weapon that never disappears when dropped. The amount of damage dealt depends on how long you hold down the Attack button. The longer you hold it, the more damage it does. It really doesn't seem too helpful and just slows your attacking down. It's best avoided. Gun (revolver gun) - one shot from this gun stuns enemies for a second; three consecutive shots will knock them down. What you can do is shoot an enemy once, then quickly follow up with a dash attack. This gun doesn't really seem to be too helpful, overall. It is really only most helpful for getting in the first few hits on the second boss. The gun has 6 shots and can be thrown at an enemy after running out. Shotgun (shotgun) - the best weapon in the game, shotguns do major damage to any regular enemies and still do a decent amount to bosses. At close range, one shot will knock down an enemy. From a distance, it does less damage and doesn't cause any knockdown. It can also hit any other enemies nearby the one you're shooting at. Shotguns have a capacity of 6 shots. When you run out of ammo, you can throw it to hit enemies. Rifle (rifle) - has the same effect as the shotgun, only it does less damage and can only hit a single enemy. The capacity is 6 shots. After you run out, you can smack enemies with it, but it's best not to since it slows down your attack. Uzi (small machine gun) - with this gun, you can shoot rapidly by holding the Attack button. Each shot pushes an enemy away a little and six consecutive shots will knock them down. The gun is most helpful on bosses for depleting a lot of their health and keeping them at a distance. The gun carries 48 shots and can be thrown at enemies when you run out. M-16A1 (big machine gun) - the most rare item, it seems to have a 1% chance of ever appearing. It works exactly like the uzi, only you can smack enemies with it after running out of ammo. Again, just use it to shoot as swinging it will slow down your attack. The gun has 48 shots. Bazooka (grenade launcher) - same effect as throwing a grenade while running. This gun always disappears after you've used all shots, so if there are bullets lying around, pick them up when you have one shot left. The gun carries 4 shots. Bullets (gun clip) - used to reload guns, pick up a gun after picking up bullets and its ammo will be maxed out again. If there's more than one gun lying around, the one you pick up is the one that will be reloaded. Radio (transmitter) - only found in one level, used for bringing in the ultimate weapon, the Cadillac. Perhaps it's not really a weapon, but it does allow you to run over enemies and you're invincible when driving it. -Point Items- 1000$ (dollar bills) - worth 1,000 points. Dime (gold coin) - odd color for a dime, pick up for 1,000 points. Grove (baseball mitt) - looks like a baseball mitt, grab for 1,000 points. Sunglass (sunglasses) - pick up for 1,000 points. Necklace (necklace) - worth 3,000 points. Ring (ring) - worth 3,000 points. Watch (watch) - wear it for 3,000 points. Ammonite (wood) - looks like wood, worth 5,000 points. Golddust (bag) - pick it up to receive 5,000 points. Pearl (seashell) - get it for 5,000 points. Diamond (diamond) - 10,000 points for picking this up. Egg (dinosaur egg) - only one in the game, worth 10,000 points. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ ENEMIES Throughout the game you'll come across various enemies. There are three types of enemies: standard, sub-bosses, and dinosaurs. Standard are the most common and aren't too aggressive, but don't leave them standing around for long or they may surprise you. Standard enemies have up to one lifebar of health. Sub-bosses are more aggressive and have up to three lifebars. They are like bosses, only with less health. Dinosaurs are very powerful, but not very aggressive. They can also have up to three lifebars, but their stamina is just like that of the standard enemies and are easily defeated. Some dinosaurs will be friendly when you meet them, but if attacked, they'll get angry and attack you. -Standard Enemies- Punk - the very first enemy you see in the game. He isn't very aggressive and hardly attacks at all, but don't leave him standing for too long or he may just surprise you with a jump kick or dash kick. Sometimes he'll drop a gun or some bullets when defeated. He'll sometimes be riding a motorcycle. Names: Ferris, Gneiss, Driver Midget - quite an annoying enemy and can be hard to hit due to his size. He is the weakest of the enemies and doesn't do much damage, but is quite aggressive. Sometimes he'll throw dynamite at you. Names: Punk, Thug Knife Guy - this guy fights with knives most of the time and has many different attacks with them. Like the punk enemy, he also isn't too aggressive, but if he is left standing for long, he might surprise you. He is a little defensive and will sometimes block your attacks. When he's armed with a knife, you can knock it out of his hands sometimes. Names: Blade, Razor Fat Boy - the strongest of the standard enemies. He usually charges towards you and sometimes tries to jump on you. All his attacks are powerful and do a lot of damage. His attacks don't seem to have much priority and can be easily knocked out of many of them, even his charge. Sometimes he drops food when defeated. Names: Hammer T., Wrench T., Blk Elmer Hunter - the least aggressive enemy in the game, but just like the others don't leave him standing long or he might surprise you with a jump kick or gun shot. Sometimes he'll enter the screen rolling on the ground and ending with a smack of his rifle. Stay a distance when you see him do this. He will sometimes drop a rifle when defeated. Names: Poacher J, Skinner, Gutter -Sub-Bosses- Lash T. - he's the easiest of the sub-bosses. He attacks with a mace that has very long range. It's never a good idea to stand directly across from him at a distance or he's likely to hit you easily. The best way to beat him is to stay close to him and use either grab combos or attack combos. Walter - he is exactly the same as Vice T., only with less health. He is quite a common sub-boss in the later levels. Buldge - similar looking to Blanka from Street Fighter. He can be hard to hit since he jumps around a lot. Dash attacks and dive kicks work well, though. He sometimes eats weapons, so keep him away from any guns you're not using. Tyrog 2 - he's basically just Tyrog with all three attacks: chest blades, lava, fireballs, and he has one phase. -Dinosaurs- R Hopper - this dinosaur is usually friendly when you first meet him, but when attacked, he'll get angry and begin attacking you. He isn't too aggressive and doesn't have much stamina either, but shouldn't be left around for too long or he may surprise you with his throw. Mack - this is a slow dinosaur that attacks simply by walking slowly towards you and trying to ram you. He may be big, but like all dinosaurs his stamina is just like that of the standard enemies. His slow ram attack also hardly has priority and can be easily taken cared of. Shivat - the most dangerous dinosaur, but still not too aggressive just like all other dinosaurs. You'll find him sleeping at first. Then, fat boys come and hit him to try to wake him up. Defeat the fat boys quickly and don't let them wake him up. He's easy to deal with, but he does have a bite combo that does lots of damage, so that's why you don't want him to wake up. Zeke - the hardest enemy to hit since he's always flying above you. He tries to scratch you with his talons and can also pick you up and drop you. The best way to get rid of him is with your defensive attack. He has the least amount of life of any enemy in the game that it takes only one use of your defensive attack to defeat him. So, having to sacrifice a little health shouldn't be a problem. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ BOSSES Like in almost every beat-em-up game, you'll usually fight a boss at the end of the level. Most of the bosses in this game are actually easy. What makes them hard is that they fight with other enemies. There are eight bosses in this game, one for each of the eight levels. You'll usually get some dialogue before each boss fight. You can hold the Attack or Jump button to speed it up. Go here http://youtube.com/profile_videos?user=ninjasrok to see some strategy videos on beating the bosses. -Level 1: Vice T.- For being a first boss, he can be tough sometimes. Before the fight, you'll get some dialogue, which you can speed up by holding the Attack or Jump button. You most likely have a shotgun, so the first thing you'll want to do is shoot him as much as you can. Sometimes you can also shoot the dinosaur at the same time if he's nearby. If you have the uzi gun, do the same, only it's a little harder to hit with. After using all your shots, throw the gun at him. Now, get the grenade and try to hit both him and the dinosaur with it. You won't have anymore weapons now, so the next thing you want to do is dash attack him and the dinosaur. Try to get rid of the dinosaur quickly. You can try doing your attack combo on him and dash attack him if he blocks. For Vice T., keep dash attacking him and if you manage to grab him, give him two bashes and a throw or if you're Mustapha, finish the combo with his flip kick. After taking a certain amount of damage, Vice T. stands still and calls some enemies to come help him. As he's standing, quickly do your attack combo on him. Keep dash attacking the enemies and him to finish them off. Just keep in mind to never approach Vice T. from the front if he's not standing to call his backup or you're likely to get a punch which does a lot of damage or he may combo you. If you're caught in his combo, you can try breaking out by trying to combo him back if you're one of the guys. With Hannah, always use your defensive attack; she has the most trouble breaking out. Once you get Vice T. down to a little health, you may just want to keep doing your defensive attack to finish him. Like I said, this boss can be hard sometimes so you want to beat him as soon as possible. Difficulty: 3/10 -Level 2: Butcher- The only reason this boss is hard is because he fights with other enemies. When he's alone, he's easy to deal with. This is when you want to deal as much damage to him before other enemies show up. When the fight begins, shoot him with the revolver gun three times. This will knock him offscreen. Just stay where you are and he'll try to jump on you. When his about to land, simply move down to avoid getting crushed and move up to grab him. Give him two bashes and throw him to the left. Quickly move to the right and you can disarm yourself if you want. He will usually try to crush you again. Use the same strategy again to avoid his jump and grab him to combo him and throw him to the left again. He usually just keeps trying again, so you just repeat. If you're Mustapha, try ending your grab combos with the flip kick whenever you can. You can also try doing your attack combo on him a second after he lands, but it's easier to grab him and he seems to jump at you more if you grab him instead. By the time enemies come, you would have depleted two or three lifebars from him. The first enemies will be hunters coming from the left. Try keeping them and the Butcher on the left by throwing them at each other. Also, try not to defeat the hunters too fast since they're the easiest regular enemies to deal with. After the hunters, it will be tougher enemies, like midgets and fat boys that come. Since hunters are less aggressive, this is why you want to keep them longer. With other enemies around, the pattern may change a little. Try keeping a distance bewteen yourself and the Butcher so he tries his jump attack. At close range he's likely to slash you or dash punch you if he's disarmed. You can try dash attacking him, but it's not always safe as you may get knocked out of it, especially with Hannah. Basically, what you want to do is keep your distance from him as he's likely to try a jump attack. Combo him after he lands or do a grab combo. Like the previous boss, when you get him down to a little health you may just want to keep using your defensive attack to finish him off. Difficulty: 4/10 (2/10 when alone) -Level 3: Hogg- This is the easiest boss. He has three lifebars and his stamina is just like a regular enemy's. You should have slowed down after seeing the rolling barrels. The reason you want to slow down is because it will be easier to hit Hogg with the cadillac and avoid his grenades. While in the cadillac, you'll want to hit him as many times as possible and avoid his grenades. You won't lose any health if hit by the grenades, but it will damage the cadillac and your character will dismount if it takes too many hits. Just drive slow a while, then speed up and you usually hit him, slow down a while again, and repeat. Move in an up and down pattern to avoid the grenades. As Hogg gets hit more, he'll throw more grenades. Keep moving up and down to avoid the grenades, and slowing down then speeding up to hit him. With any luck, you'll beat him while still in the cadillac. If you lose it, it's not a problem. Your character will jump out and Hogg will come at you back and forth. All you have to do then is dash attack when he comes towards you. After a while, a few enemies will come. If a punk shows up, he may drop a shotgun, which you can use to finish Hogg. The shotgun does major damage to him since his stamina is like a regular enemy's. Difficulty: 1/10 -Level 4: Slice- You should have either a rifle or uzi with you. When the fight begins, Slice may try to slash you, so immediately dodge upwards to the left. If you have the uzi, you can just shoot him immediately instead since it's fast. What you want to do is keep him at a distance and shoot him as much as possible. One shot from the rifle knocks him away and it takes six consecutive shots with the uzi. Keep your distance and let him come towards you to shoot him. After a while, a knife guy will come from the right, but he's not much of a threat. A little while longer, when you've probably used up all your ammo, a fat boy comes from the left. Get rid of him quickly since he can become a threat. You're out of ammo, so what you should do now is still keep your distance and dash attack Slice as he comes to you if you are one of the guys. Dash attacks won't work with Hannah unless you run diagonally towards him, but that can be hard. The best way to defeat Slice with Hannah is to jump towards him when he tries to slash you. You'll go over his slash attack and land right next to him, which you can then combo or grab him. You can also do this with the guys, but dash attacking is much easier with them. That's all there really is to it. Some things you should also look out for are Slice's multi-boomerang attack, single boomerang, and his combo. The reason for staying a distance is because of the boomerangs. The multi-boomerang attack covers about half the screen, but by being on the other side of the screen, it will make it easier to avoid. If Slice throws the single boomerang, try punching it or run up then down around it. If you get caught in his combo, always break out with your defensive move no matter who you're playing. He punches fast and will drain your health fast. Just like the first two bosses, you might want to go ahead and finish Slice with your defensive move once he's at low health. Difficulty: 6/10 (4/10 with the guys) -Level 5: Morgan/Morgue- Like Butcher, he is much easier when he's alone. He is usually alone at first, so this is the time to deal as much damage to him as possible. Morgan is easiest to hit using the uzi, so hopefully you made it here with it. Stay in the middle of the screen and just shoot him to knock him offscreen. Wait a while and shoot to knock him offscreen again and just repeat until you're out of ammo. This has to be timed right or you'll both shoot each other if you wait too long or you'll waste bullets if you shoot too early. After using all your shots or if you lost the uzi on the way, you'll want to dash attack Morgan, except if you're Jack. You should still stay in the middle and just simply dash attack to knock Morgan offscreen and repeat. This also requires some timing or you'll be punished if you mess up. Dive kicks also work well, but dash attacking is easier. This won't work well with Jack as the shots from Morgan's gun will usually knock him out of it. Use either dive kicks with Jack or try moving close to Morgan to combo him. If you manage to grab him, always give him two bashes and a throw. Mustapha's flip kick doesn't work well on Morgan, so you should also end the combo with a throw when using him. Something else to keep in mind is to never stand close to Morgan after knocking him down or he'll smack you after getting up. After you've defeated him, he'll drop his uzi and transform into a dinosaur called Morgue. Right after the transformation, you'll be able to get in a quick combo on him. This phase is easiest using Jack. All you have to do is dash attack him and any other enemies back and forth. Since Jack's dash attack is a slide kick, he'll go right under Morgue's charge and hit him. The other characters will always get knocked out of their dash attacks. The best thing to do with the others is dash attack Morgue from behind. Wait for him to charge and just run around behind him to dash attack. It's also safe to dash attack him by running diagonally towards him in the front, but that's harder to do. The uzi that was dropped should be saved for when midgets appear onscreen. You'll want to use the uzi mainly on the midgets since it's easier to shoot at them. I've said this about practically all bosses, but once Morgue's at low health, finish him with a defensive attack. Difficulty: 5/10 (2/10 when alone) -Level 6: Tyrog- Another boss who'd be easier if he fought alone. Unfortunately, he's practically never alone, so he isn't going to get any easier. Tyrog has three phases, each being a little different. When the fight begins, you can get in a quick combo on him. What you want to do is dash attack him and other enemies and always keep moving around. By moving around, it will make it easier to avoid Tyrog's jump. His chest blades will knock you out of your dash attack, but if you're quick to attack, he'll never have the chance to extend them out. The best time to attack is after he lands from jumping. If you're close to him, try to combo him or grab him. Dash attacking is easier, but you can usually do more damage with a combo or grabbing him. After depleting all his health, he'll get off his victim and on to another enemy. This is the only time he's usually alone, but you can't damage him much. Keep moving back and forth on Tyrog's body and you'll end up grabbing him when he gets off the victim. Throw him immediately; you can't combo him as one hit knocks him off your hands and you can't grab him again. After getting on the next victim, Tyrog jumps back a little. You can get in a quick combo or grab him afterwards. Grabbing is easier, but you can do more damage with a combo. The second phase is the same as the first, only Tyrog's chest blade attack will be replaced by him throwing fireballs. This phase is easier and again, if you're quick to attack, he'll never have the chance to throw fireballs. Use the same strategy as before to defeat him. When defeated, he'll get off his victim again, which you can then grab him again by moving back and forth on his body. You know the rest of it after he gets on another victim and jumps back. The last phase is also the same, only he'll be spitting lava instead of using the chest blades or fireballs. Use the same strategy again, but you'll have to be a little faster this time to stop his lava spit. That's all there is to defeating him. Things to keep in mind are to never stand close to Tyrog after knocking him down and to always try defeating as many fat boys as possible before getting Tyrog to the next phases. Tyrog will always claw at you the moment he gets up, so that's why you shouldn't stand close after knocking him down. Many of the fat boys will be dropping food, so this is the reason to defeat as many as possible. Just like basically anything, Tyrog will get easier with practice and you'll be staying alive longer, but it can become a problem in the last phase. If you've managed to do well and survive, time becomes your enemy. You will most likely have one minute left, so you'll want to defeat him quickly or it will be a big loss to run out of time with a lot of health left. I'm sure you also know by now to go and finish tough bosses with your defensive attack. Difficulty: 5/10 (2/10 if he was ever alone) -Level 7: Slisaur- This is the hardest boss fight in the game. Well, the fight is a lot easier with Mustapha than with the others, but still quite hard even with him. You'll fight two half-human, half-dinosaur hybrids, both called Slisaur. They fight exactly the same as Slice, so it's like fighting two of him. This boss is hard no matter who you're playing. There is a trick, though, with Mustapha to make it easier. The first thing you should do is immediately throw the knife you brought at the Slisaurs right as the fight begins. If you're lucky, it might hit them both. If you don't have a knife, dodge upwards to the left incase they try to slash you. You can get in a quick dash attack afterwards if you're fast enough. The trick to beating them with Mustapha is to go all the way to the bottom of the screen and just keep dash attacking them back and forth. If you can get them both to one side, it will be easier, but it's not really necessary since Mustapha's dash attack has the range and priority. This tactic is about 80% effective and with any luck you'll sometimes manage to beat them both with ease. Dash attacks may have also worked well with Jack and Mess when fighting Slice, but not here. Even with both Slisaurs on the same side, you'll usually get slashed out of your dash attack by the one behind. The best way to beat the Slisaurs with the other three characters is to run around them and dash attack. Yes, this can be hard to do, but it's the safest and quickest way to beat them. Mess' and Hannah's running jump attacks seem to also be good to use, though, the damage won't be much. Dive kicks seem to be 50% effective, so use them if you're having trouble with the running around. Afterwards, you could try to combo if the Slisaur wasn't knocked down. If you knock one of the Slisaurs down and you're close to him, try to grab and throw him to the other one that way both are on one side. This boss fight is so hard that you're likely to lose a life, maybe two. Sure it's sometimes easy with Mustapha, but even with him you'll sometimes lose a life due to just plain bad luck. While you're invincible from losing a life, you should use this time to try dealing as much damage to the Slisaurs with combos by letting them come to you. The same things to look out for when fighting Slice also apply here, the multi-boomerang attack, single boomerang, and their deadly combo. Use the same strategy you used on Slice to avoid these attacks. Once you've defeated one of the Slisaurs, the fight will be a lot easier. Use the Slice strategy to finish off the other one. You know what to do once you get the remaining Slisaur down to low health, right? Difficulty: 10/10 (6/10 with Mustapha) -Level 8: Fessenden- The last boss is usually hard, but this one is quite easy. In the first phase, Fessenden will transform into a dinosaur similar to Morgue. His attacks are also the same, but because he fights alone, he's very easy and the strategy will be different. After he transforms, you can get in a quick combo. All you have to do to defeat him is stay on the other side and wait for him to charge. Dodge up or down and combo or grab him from behind. It's easier to grab, but you can do more damage if you combo him. Bash him twice and throw him offscreen if you grab him. Run to the other side and repeat. That's all there is to it, very simple. On the second phase, Fessenden will transform into a two-headed dinosaur and have seven lifebars with very high stamina. He's harder, but still quite easy. Stay at the top and just keep doing running jump attacks on him as he comes towards you. He will be hit most of the time, even if he attacks. Run away from him and repeat. Sometimes you may end up grabbing him while doing this; throw him immediately because he seems to break out of your grabs. You can also combo him if you are above or below him. Never combo him from the front because he'll break through most of the time. Some knife guys will come later and throw knives, but as long as you're all the way at the top, they won't reach you. Even though Fessenden is an easy boss, you may lose a life on the second phase due to either running out of time or just plain bad luck. After all, the strategy is about 80% effective with the guys and 90% with Hannah. There actually may just be times when you'll have bad luck and Fessenden will keep knocking you out of your jump attack. If you do manage to stay alive, the time will most likely be up when you've gotten him down to three lifebars due to his high stamina. You have about three minutes to defeat Fessenden in both phases. Defeat him to beat the game. Difficulty: 3/10 //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ LEVELS There are eight levels in the game. Like with any game, the early levels will be easy and get harder as you progress through the game. Most levels have multiple scenes, while others have only one scene. The names of the levels are taken from the game, which can be seen after completing a level, when a map appears. ========================== |Level 1: City in the Sea| ========================== -Scene 1- Before the level begins, you'll get a cutscene. Hold the Attack or Jump button to speed it up. This level is short and easy, and so is this scene. All you do after the cutscene is defeat four punk enemies, which aren't too aggressive and hardly attack at all. Defeat them however you want and your character will go to the next scene automatically. -Scene 2- This scene is also short and easy. As you enter the building, a punk will come at you by the entrance. The door in the background then opens with a midget and another punk coming at you. Quickly defeat these three enemies anyway you want. The screen scrolls forward and a Gneiss punk comes at you. This enemy usually drops a shotgun, sometimes an uzi when defeated. Don't defeat him yet. Instead, dash forward to defeat a knife guy and a few more punks. After defeating them, some fat boys will come charging at you from both sides, so be careful. You can easily take care of the fat boys with your dash attack or attack combo. Defeat the fat boys and the punk that gives you the shotgun or uzi to automatically go to the next scene. Don't use the gun on any regular enemies at all; save it for the boss since he can be tough sometimes. -Scene 3- After falling from the building and landing, a fat boy will fall out and a door breaks with a punk coming at you. Defeat these two by using your dash attack so you don't shoot them with the gun you're holding. The screen scrolls forward and another punk comes at you. He drops a grenade, so defeat him by using your grab combo and finishing him off by throwing him offscreen to the right. Also, break the bucket with a dive kick before the screen moves to the boss that way you'll have a health item close by. ======================= |Level 2: Swamp Forest| ======================= -Scene 1- This level is a little longer than the first, but is overall short and easy. At the beginning of the level, just behind the first tree is a diamond worth 10,000 points. There are also other point items behind the other trees that you can get if you want. The first section is very easy that you can just dash attack your way through. There will be two Mack dinosaurs ahead, but they're slow and don't really have any priority, so that's why you can just keep dash attacking. Down the way, you'll come to a sleeping dinosaur and some hunters. Defeat them and two fat boys and another hunter will show up. The fat boys will try to wake the sleeping dinosaur, so you'll want to take care of them first and quickly. As you are fighting them, some knife guys will appear on the left side and throw knives at you. The knives can be avoided simply by punching them out of the air. After defeating all enemies here, your character automatically moves forward into the water. Here, there will be three hunters that show up. They're easy just like all hunters, but watch out for the one on the buttom because he might sometimes surprise you with a jump kick. After defeating the hunters, a fat boy will come charging from the right, so be sure you're not too close to the right to not get hit. Defeat the fat boy to move forward to the next section of enemies. At the end, you'll fight a Lash T. sub-boss, knife guy, and two hunters. Lash T. and the knife guy appear first, then the hunters later. Lash T. is an easy sub-boss who is easily defeated by grab or attack combos. Don't stand directly across him because he's likely to hit you with his long range attack. Stay close to him and approach him from the top or bottom to combo him. You can also dash attack him from a mid distance. Defeat him and the others to go to the next scene. -Scene 2- This next scene is very short. All you do here is go all the way down to fight two hunters and the boss battle follows afterwards. Before you beat the hunters, pick up the middle barrel at the bottom and toss it offscreen to the right. This barrel contains a food item, like a donut or gum, that restores a little health. It may be a little, but it will allow you to take an extra hit. The top-right barrel has a revolver gun, which you'll also want to take into the boss battle. So, break it first so you can grab the gun easily after defeating the hunters. ===================== |Level 3: Waste Land| ===================== This is the shortest and easiest level in the game. Well, it could also be one of the hardest if you decide not to take the cadillac. Unless you're looking for a challenge, just take the cadillac. Dash attack the two enemies at the bottom and quickly get the transmitter in the first barrel you see. Depending on who you're playing, Jack or another character will bring the cadillac to you. Your character jumps in and drives away. As you're in the cadillac, you're invincible to everything except Hogg's grenades. You can basically just run over everything you come across. Use Left on the joystick to slow down and Right to speed up. You can also move up and down. After passing several punk enemies and rolling barrels, slow down because the boss is coming up. ======================== |Level 4: Jack's Garage| ======================== -Scene 1- From here on, the levels will be hard. The first scene is short and easy. All you do is fight some punks and a knife guy. Defeat them anyway you want to go to the next scene. One of the barrels contains a shotgun; save it for a hard part early in the next scene. -Scene 2- Use a dive kick to get the pizza from the stack of tires if you need it. Get in between the stack of tires and barrels and disarm yourself. Walk forward just a little and a fat boy will come from the left. Defeat him using your combo and break the barrels for a grenade. Pick the shotgun back up and now comes the hard part. Move down and align yourself so you're across from the vent on the floor. Walk forward and the moment the Walter sub-boss appears, shoot him. Now, quickly move upwards to the middle and shoot a punk and midget that come from the left and right. Quickly move all the way to the top and keep shooting Walter and the other enemies that appear. Throw the grenade after you've run out of ammo. Keep using dash attacks to defeat Walter and the other enemies. Punks on motorcycles will be coming, but as long as you stay all the way at the top, they won't reach you. After defeating all of them, move all the way to the bottom and continue forward. Use a dash attack to knock the punk at the bottom off his motorcycle because he usually drops a food item, which you'll probably need. Finish off the punk and proceed forward to beat two hunters. Break the fence and beat two punks before proceeding. Here's another hard part. You'll fight some midgets and after defeating a few, knife guys will be dropping from above. Dash attack the midgets back and forth and try using dive kicks. Throw any dynamites they may drop to help you. Be sure to save one, though, for a hard part early in the next scene. Do the same to defeat the knife guys and try throwing knives they drop back at them. Sometimes one of the barrels in this area will have a rifle or a machine gun. Use the gun if you happen to get lucky. After defeating the enemies, you'll be taken to the next scene. Don't forget to bring some dynamite. -Scene 3- Another hard part early in the scene, this is where you want to use dynamite. Align yourself across from the coin and throw the dynamite so it lands past the coin. Wait a while, then run forward with a running jump attack. If you timed it right, the dynamite should have exploded and knocked away the fat boys on both sides. Finish them off by dash attacking them back and forth. Get the uzi in the barrel and move to the last section of enemies. You'll fight four punks, then a fat boy with two hunters. Defeat them all anyway you want to go to the boss. One of the punks drops bullets, so you can use the guns on them if you want. You'll want to take one of the guns to the boss. It's easier to hit him with the rifle, but you can take away one more lifebar from him if you more or less hit him with all 48 shots from the uzi. =========================== |Level 5: Village of Flame| =========================== The first section of enemies isn't hard; you just have to move slow and you'll be able to fight them one by one. First, defeat the three enemies by the torches before going any further. You shouldn't need any health items yet, so leave the meat alone for now. Don't try picking up the dinosaur egg yet either because it is so close to the meat items that you may end up accidentally picking up a meat item instead. The torches should, of course, be avoided since they'll slow down your attack. Move forward a little and you'll see a friendly dinosaur. He will become a threat later if you leave him alone, so get rid of him now. Punch him and move away, then combo him as he walks towards you. Move forward a little bit again and a pterodactyl will come down to you. Use your defensive attack to beat him. Now, you can go ahead and get the meat items and if you want the dinosaur egg. Walk forward slowly and a Mack dinosaur appears. Use your attack combo to defeat him. Walk forward slowly again and another one comes from the left. Beat him the same way. Move forward and you'll see another friendly dinosaur, which you should also beat before going on. Next, you'll face several enemies at once, most of them fat boys. This section isn't really hard, though, as the fat boys just keep trying to wake the sleeping dinosaur. Don't let them wake him. Just be quick and attack them when they get near the dinosaur. You should also go slow towards the next section of enemies. Defeat the enemies by the barrels. One of the barrels contains a bazooka, which you should save for the Buldge sub-boss up ahead. Boulders will be falling and crumble into rocks you can pick up to throw. If you move slowly, only one boulder will fall at a time making them easier to dodge. Use the bazooka to help you beat the Buldge sub-boss and other enemies. Throw the grenade from one of the barrels in this area after using all shots. Save the gun for the Walter sub-boss in the next section. Dash attacks and dive kicks will also work well on Buldge. You'll fight Walter immediately in the next section after defeating Buldge. This section is hard. Shoot Walter three times the moment you see him. He'll be knocked away and three knife guys will show up. Dash attack them all back and forth and use the gun to help you some. Try to get rid of the knife guys fast because after a while, several hunters will fall from above and it will get very crowded. Beat the hunters the same way and throw any knives dropped to help you. Right after this section of enemies will be several barrels. One contains an uzi, which you should try to take to the boss. The one at the bottom, all the way at the right contains bullets. Grab the uzi and move all the way to the right. Two fat boys will come from the left and the bullets will still be in sight. Defeat the fat boys anyway you want and two midgets will show up. The midgets are easier to defeat using the gun, so use it and get the bullets after beating them. Head down and use a dive kick to destroy the three buckets. This is another hard section of enemies. First, stand near the door so you can grab and combo a punk that comes out. One of the buckets has bullets, so use the uzi to help you defeat the punk, midgets, and fat boy. You should stay away from the left because after a while, hunters will come from there with a roll attack. Try to get rid of the first group of enemies quickly so it doesn't get crowded. The second group consists of three hunters and a Lash T. sub-boss. Use dash attacks on the hunters, combo Lash T., and use the uzi if you have any shots left. The bullets from the bucket should be saved for the boss. Defeat all the enemies to be taken to the boss. ======================== |Level 6: Jungle & Mine| ======================== -Scene 1- Proceed forward slowly and a knife guy will come from the left. Defeat him and move forward slowy again and another knife guy will come from the right. Defeat him and head all the way right. You'll fight four punks now, two coming out from doors. The ones coming out the doors have the least health, so you should try to beat them first. Beat the other two and break the door on the right to move on. You'll see some enemies by a row of barrels. The leftmost barrel has a grenade and the rightmost has a pizza. Defeat the enemies using your combo before moving on. Here comes a hard part; you'll fight a Walter and Lash T. sub-boss at once. What makes this even harder is that the screen will move if you dash attack to the right. Get the grenade and throw it at Walter. Use dash attacks on him and your combo on Lash T. If possible, try to also combo Walter instead. You don't want to end up having the screen advance forward because it will make it harder with two hunters up ahead. Depending how much health you have, you also may not want to break the barrel with the pizza just yet. It helps some if you stay at the bottom of the barrels. Just do your best to beat them without breaking the barrel with the pizza and without advancing forward. Next fight is two hunters, which is easy. Now, depending how much health you have, you should either get the pizza now or carry the barrel with you all the way to the right. Pizza will recover half your health, so carry the barrel to the right if your health is at 70% or more to have a health item nearby for another hard part. Eat the pizza, otherwise. In the last section, you'll fight these enemies in this order: two fat boys, Lash T., another fat boy, Walter, and two hunters. Defeat them all the same way you've been doing to go to the next scene. You fight the enemies two at a time and the next one shows up after defeating one. Walter is easier to fight with a fat boy than when he's with Lash T., so you'll want to try to get rid of Lash T. before the fat boys. -Scene 2- You'll want to take it slow at the beginning of this scene. After going past the first tree, a hunter and three rolling barrels will come from the left. They're easy to take care of; just punch the barrel so it doesn't hit you. The reason to go slow here is because you want to get the items inside two of the barrels. If you rush through here, the barrels will not appear. The top barrel in the first set contains a grenade you'll want to take to the fat boys just way ahead. The middle barrel of the second set has a pizza, which you'll probably need after the two previous encounters with sub-bosses. These are the two barrels you'll want to break. Afterwards, you'll fight a few enemies, which shouldn't be any problem. You can then just run through if you want. Hunters will be appearing; be sure to stop when the fourth one appears. Right after the fourth hunter, is the fight with four fat boys, so you want to defeat the four hunters first. Try throwing one hunter at the other three to knock them all down so you can disarm yourself without accidentally hitting them with your defensive attack. Use your combo to beat them. You can also fight the hunters one by one to make it easier. Also, watch out for the giant dinosaur's foot. You'll take major damage if he stomps you. The stomp is easy to avoid. Just watch his foot and never stand on the shadow. The dinosaur can sometimes make the fight with the fat boys hard. While running, throw the grenade at the fat boys on the right and quickly dash attack the ones on the left. Keep dash attacking them back and forth, but you'll have to watch for the dinosaur's foot. Next section, you'll fight three hunters and two Buldge sub-bosses. The Buldges appear a while after the hunters, so you want to defeat the hunters quickly. Dash attack and use dive kicks to defeat the Buldges. You'll fight one punk at the end before the boss and a barrel will be close by with salad. Salad recovers about 33% health; get it now if you need it or throw the barrel offscreen so you have it for the boss fight. ======================= |Level 7: The Basement| ======================= -Scene 1- Use your combo to beat the four punks before moving further. Before crossing the bridge, wait a while and a pterodactyl will appear. Use your defensive attack to defeat him. The next section is hard. You'll fight four knife guys and after a while, some punks on motorcycles will come. Dash attack the knife guys and stay at the bottom and the first motorcycle won't reach you. Move to the top quickly after the first motorcycle passes, so the others don't reach you. Stay at the top and go forward slowly. More motorcycle punks will come, but they won't reach you as long as you're on top. Keep walking forward slowly until you barely see a knife guy ahead. Throw a knife at him if you have one or wait and he'll come to you. Later, another one will come to you. Defeat both using your combo before going any further. Now, you'll fight several midgets. Quickly run to the barrel and get the bazooka to help you defeat the midgets. Soon after, you fight many fat boys. Stand in front of the doorway and a fat boy will come charging. Combo him, ending your combo by throwing him behind you. Go in the doorway and move a little up so you're by the wall inside. You'll be able to safely combo the fat boys from here. Next, are several hunters. You can fight most of them one at a time, but they shouldn't be a problem. The last section can be hard sometimes. You'll fight two groups of enemies consisting of punks and fat boys. Stay in the lower right corner and a fat boy will fall close to you from above a while after the first group of punks show up. Use your combo to beat them and stay towards the right, ready to punch knives that four knife guys will come throwing later from the left. The second group, you can dash attack them back and forth. Knife guys will fall from above a little later, so move out the way of shadows. -Scene 2- The next scene is short. You'll just fight several enemies, usually in groups of four, while going down the elevator. It isn't really hard, though. You can dash attack the enemies back and forth or combo them if you get them all to one side. A knife guy will fall from above after the midgets, so watch out for a shadow and stay out of the way. -Scene 3- Instead of going and beating the three punks by the fence, wait for the two that fall from above. You'll have enough time to defeat one of them and get the other to low health with your combo before the ones by the fence come to you. Break the fence once defeating them all to go on. You'll fight a lot of enemies and two Lash T. sub-bosses next, but this section actually isn't hard. Just stay at the top and get rid of the midgets that come from the bookshelves quickly. The hunters that come rolling from both sides will miss you. Eventually, they'll go up where you can attack them. Some of them may drop grenades, which you should use on midgets or the sub-bosses. Two Lash T. sub-bosses appear on both sides after a while. This isn't hard. Simply keep moving up and down to avoid their long range attack and just try to get close to them to combo them. It will be easier if you can get them both on the left side because they'll be up against the fence, which makes it easier to combo them. You'll want to proceed forward slowly afterwards. Several barrels will be rolling by with some of them having food items that restore a little health. By going slow, usually only one will appear at a time, making it easier to break with a punch. At the end, will be three Buldge sub-bosses. You can't fight them one by one, at least not for long. The other two eventually get up as you're fighting one, so you might as well go and get in a quick combo on all three while they're down. Later, some punks will come from the bookshelf. Do the same thing you've been doing to defeat them all. Some barrels will roll by later and the bottom one will contain pudding, so you may want to stay at the bottom to break the barrel easily. -Scene 4- This is a short scene and quite easy. The barrel all the way at the right has a hotdog that recovers half your health. Get it if you need to or carry the barrel over to the fat boys to have if you need it then. There will be six fat boys in lines of three. You can fight them one by one, but it seems you only have about one minute to clear this scene. So, you may want to fight them three at a time. Three fat boys at once shouldn't be much of a problem. The bottom one has less health than the other two above him, so you should go up to him first and combo him. Combo the other two and just combo them once more to defeat them. Do the same for the next line of fat boys. You'll fight four knife guys last before the boss. Beat them the same way you've been doing and take a knife with you if they happen to drop one. ========================= |Level 8: Deep Deep Down| ========================= -Scene 1- This entire scene consists of sub-boss battles. Walk forward slowly and a Buldge and dinosaur break out of the glass cylinders. Immediately dash attack Buldge and just defeat them the way you normally would. Try not to dash attack to the right too much because you don't want to advance forward where there is another Buldge fight. The second fight is another Buldge with some knife guys. Use the same methods you've been using to defeat them. Three midgets will come and toss grenades as you move forward, so be ready to avoid them. Next, are four fat boys that come from the four corners of the screen. Quickly dash attack the one on the lower right, then dash attack the one on the lower left. Finish them to go to the last section. The last section is a fight with Tyrog 2 and some hunters. Use the same strategy you used on the boss, Tyrog, to beat this sub-boss. The only regular enemies here are hunters, so the fight is easier. -Scene 2- The next scene is easy. You just fight regular enemies in each section and not many, so it shouldn't be a problem. Use the same tactics you've been using to beat them all. Get rid of enemies coming out of doors quickly with your combo, destroy exhaust pipes with your combo to make things easier, and that's all you really have to do here. If you're low on health due to the previous sub-bosses, go slow here until you fight the second fat boy who drops a pizza. Right around halfway through, when you first meet hunters, four knife guys will come throwing knives from both sides. Simply stay all the way at the top to avoid the knives. That's all to look out for here. -Scene 3- The first and last sections are easy. Defeat all the enemies around and get the uzi in the middle barrel. You'll want to take it to the sub-boss battle ahead. Before heading down the slope, defeat a hunter who appears behind with your dash attack. Run down the slope and use your running jump to get through faster. By running down the slope, you'll cause the pterodactyls and most of the rolling barrels to disappear. When you reach the bottom, only a few barrels will come, but they shouldn't be a problem. Destroy them with your dash attack if they get in your way. Beat the four punks with your dash attack and move forward slowly, staying in the middle. A fat boy will come charging from the left; quickly dash attack him the moment you see him. Move forward slowly again and do the same to another fat boy who comes charging. Now, is the sub-boss fight with Walter and Lash T. twice. Use the same strategy you've used to defeat them and use the uzi mainly on Walter. After a while, another Walter and Lash T. will show up, so you want to defeat the first two quickly so it doesn't get harder. Go to the middle and move forward slowly after defeating the sub-bosses. Like before you met the sub-bosses, a fat boy will come charging from the left, so dash attack as soon as he appears. Move forward slowly again and do the same to another fat boy. You can carry the barrel with meat over to the boss battle. The meat will completely restore all your health, so save it if you have 50% health or more. You'll fight some hunters in the last section before the boss. After a while, some knife guys will come from both sides and throw knives. Move to the bottom to avoid them. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ CREDITS Thanks to: CJayC - for hosting the guide at www.gamefaqs.com GameFAQs member atro city - for helping with fourth and seventh boss strategies //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ============= |END OF FILE| =============
