Bravoman Version 1.00 (final) (o4/06/07) Copyright Brandon Grimm 2007 =============================================================================== BRAVOMAN WALKTHROUGH =============================================================================== ------------- Game Concept ------------- Welcome to Bravoman! Your job is to navigate the Stages of the game and defeat the evil Dr. Bomb, who will destroy the world with his doom device. The game is Boss heavy, there is a boss after every stage except the first. There are only 5 original stage concepts, so you will see a lot of the same scenery. Not to mention, Bravoman likes to yell Bravo every time he punches and some other intelligible stuff when he jumps. Needless to say, this game is more fun with the volume off. Also, this game is tough. The bosses vary from delightfully simple to God Almighty impossible. It's aggrevating to play, and will take some patience. Enjoy! ------------- Controls ------------- I = jump (bombs when underwater) Run = starts and pauses the game II = Punches direction you are facing (missiles when underwater) II+down = Bravoman will do a stretch attack along the ground II+up = Bravoman will do a high stretch kick at a 45 degree angle in the direction you are facing I+II+II = Bravo Jump Technique (double jump) ========== Stage 1 ========== Who is rising against me? Bravoman it's Stage 1! First off, don't stand still, don't get up and get a drink and leave this game running. If you do, a large, angry robot will appear. He'll say: "Wow, away with you!" and he'll kill you with laser beams. I think they like you to keep moving! This robot is destroyable, but it takes time and health. Walk forward and meet your first ally from the Planet Alfa. He says he's your friend and proceeds to fly away. Awesome! Do not attack any of your friends or the Lottery Man, they will not give you your health bonuses if you do! There are a few different enemies in this level. Some that fly at you, have to be punched in air. The ones on the ground have to be destroyed by pressing II+down. As you begin, ground attack the tanks and punch the flying bots out of the air. Once you walk a little further, you'll see some pipes. Some bird robots will peek out and fire a missile. Jump and punch the robots before they get the missile off. Each enemy killed leaves a small Japanese power up. As you collect them, a larger Japanese character will form in the bottom right corner of your status bar. The more you collect, the more your strange, robot lifemate will appear and drop you health bonuses. After jumping a few more pipes, you're done with stage 1. ========== Stage 2 ========== Robotcorps this is the first operation Bravoman it's Stage 2! Take out the swaying yellow bots on the ground, and punch the flying bots out of the air. As you move forward you'll see a red robot throwing fire. Use the diagonal kick to take him out easy. At this point your companion should come and drop you some health. The next rapid fire robot has projectiles that can be destroyed, so just punch rapidly. For a laugh, examine the telephone booth. After the red house you will begin to climb a steplike skyscraper. Kill the bird robots as they appear as you ascend. At the top of the building you will see clouds in the shape of platforms. Jump on the first one and work your way to the right. The final jump is a big one and you will have to do it blind, but you'll land on another token. Jump off the cloud to the right and you will find your first boss battle: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: UNBAB ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Its a three tiered totem pole. When you first approach do not get under the wings, they are about to come crashing down. As soon as they do drop, start jumping and attacking the top, green totem. When you've hit it several times it will rear back, this is your clue to duck, because it flies across the screen in your direction. Once it's gone, crouch and ground attack the lower, purple totem, when it rears back, prepare to jump. Now the middle section with wings will just sit there, ground attack it and you've beat the first boss! Collect your tokens and walk forwards to the...bus stop..and get more health from your Robobuddy. ========== Stage 3 ========== Twin Squrain Defeat him Bravoman its Stage 3! This is an underwater level. As explained at the beginning of the FAQ, the controls have new functions. II will fire missiles straight and I will drop bombs downward at an angle in the direction you're moving. Be careful to stay towards the middle of the screen. Stay too far back and you usually will pick up a lot of fire, and then there's the squids that zoom down the screen! You first encounter Shrimpbots, then some octopus that fire and retreat, and then some eel looking fish. Take them all out with missiles while dodging the squids that shoot up and down the screen. As soon as you see the first sea anemone (plant thing that shoots projectiles) start dropping your bombs. It's important you destroy these things as fast as possible, because if not, the screen will get crowded fast! Stay back, take out the anemone with bombs, go high for the other and then back low with missiles for the third. Get back to the middle of the screen and rapid fire on the octopus. For this next part drop as many bombs on anemones as possible and dodge the projectiles as well as you can. You will soon realize their projectiles pass right through the rocks you hide behind. As you climb the stone stairs rapid fire the group of crustacean bots that fly onto the screen. Time for a tougher boss fight: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Twin Squran ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This boss is a double headed sea serpent pulling a rider. The serpents move up and down and shoot energy balls at you. The rider also shoots a ball, making three shots at a time. The key here is to get into a rhythm with your movements that has all the balls being shot in the same direction. Both heads will shoot at the same time, but the rider will sometimes alter his firing rate. You should wait at either the top or bottom at the back of the screen and wait for the heads to fire, when they do, move either up or down from where you're at, and fire like mad. Pause where your at, wait for the heads to fire, and move and shoot. It will take a while but try to concentrate on one of the heads. Once one is dead, the fight is simple. You only have to dodge one head's projectiles and the rider's shots. Take out the second head and the battle is done. ========== Stage 4 ========== Vanquish him with Jutzu of Shinobi Bravoman its Stage 4! The first enemies will come at you from the top right corner of the screen. They're giant green robots. When you get close enough they'll dive at you. Walk towards them and when they start to dive retreat back and attack them. You can kick them out of the air if you time it right. If you let them get too close, they'll begin jumping again. After a few rounds with those guys, you will begin to descend into a cave. Walk down the steps and when you reach the bottom turn around and kill the welding bot, then turn back and kill the next welding bot coming at you down the stairs. If you've been collecting tokens pretty consistently your lottery bot should show up and drop you some help. The snakes need to be killed as soon as you see them. It only takes one hit to kill them. If you don't, they will run right through you. Climb the stairs out of the underground and prepare for another boss. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Benjamin ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Benjamin likes to throw batons at you and jump around, as well as float a bit. When you walk up he'll throw 2 rounds of 3 batons at you. If you continue crouching they'll miss you. He will then jump over you and throw one baton, which can be easily jumped. He'll then jump back to the right side of the screen. As he jumps back to the left again, he'll sprinkle you with more batons 1 or 2 times and then repeat his sequence. The best way to take him out is to crouch and punch at the beginning. When he releases the single shot, kick him in the air. When he floats and drops the batons on you, just run to the side of the screen with the most room. He shouldn't be too hard to beat. The lottery bot will give you some bonus at the end. ========== Stage 5 ========== Enough of you. This will be the end. Bravoman it's Stage 5 Take out the small bots as usual. The orange jumping bots will not stop attacking, so kick them out of the air as they get close. The next armored bot that fires missiles can be punched, just punch rapidly to take out the missiles he is shooting. Continue on until you reach the rising platform. When it reaches the top jump in front or over the hawk head robot. Crouch in front of it and wait for it to shoot its electricity. When it's done stand and punch the head of the robot till it's dead. The next electric tower has 2 hawk bots. Ride the platform up and ignore the first hawk bot you pass. Jump off at the top and take out this hawk the same away as you did the last few. At the next tower, take one of the two platforms up. When you're crouching at the base of the hawk head robot begin punching so as to stop the missiles from the robot behind the hawk. Take both robots out and continue to till you see a cloud platform. Your choice is to jump up and go over or you can crawl underneath through the small passage. On the other side your buddy from the Planet Alfa will appear and say "Is he our enemy our...?" Walk forward for the boss. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: B. Bravoman ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This boss is actually easier than the last few bosses you've been up against. For a doppelganger fight, it's actually pretty easy. The black Bravoman has all your same attacks. If you try to punch normal, he'll crouch. He'll do the same if you try to jump and punch or kick. The easiest way to defeat him is just crouch and punch. This will make your enemy flip out and he'll begin jumping from one side to the other. While staying crouched, face left and right while punching. Black Bravoman will eventually creep towards you so just scoot away when he gets closer. Continue this until Black Bravoman is done. ========== Stage 6 ========== Zortan my righthand. I'll leave it to you. Bravoman it's Stage 6. Jump over the light posts and take out the Flame Thrower bot. Now you have a choice. You can navigate the clouds, which are full of FT bots and balloon bots that drop black mines, or you can continue to the right. If you climb the clouds you can reach an extra powerup at the top. Either way you'll make your way to the right. Ascend the stairs taking out the FT bots and balloons as you go. At this point you can take cloud platforms up again if you like. Climb the next set of stairs up and kill the FT bot and jump over the mine. At the top of this platform jump up the alternating cloud platforms. Kill the balloon bot and get the power up. Fall down to the right and Planet Alfa will show up and tell you: "Attack when he lets down his shield." Head right, boss time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Zortan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zortan is a half horse half robot creature. Hit him one or two times for him to jump back on his cloud platform and start the real battle. He will come at you from the right with a flashing shield. Do not attack constantly. He lets off a shot before he brings his shield down. When he does, jump to avoid the shot and punch while his shield is down, repeat. The timing is tricky to get down, but he's really not that hard. In fact, if you have full strength you can actually just go toe to toe with him and win without dying. Just stand in the bottom left corner and kick forward rapidly. Of course this is a waste of energy and you will need it for the next level. ========== Stage 7 ========== A drowning man will grab at a straw. Bravoman it's Stage 7. We're underwater again. This level is fast and furious. You will have to shoot constantly and dodge carefully to get through. Shoot down the first three waves of shrimpbots. The first rock you see can be destroyed. Take out the green frogmen and stay high. Stay as far away from the yellowish orange blobs. If they grab you they will suck your energy down. to get them off, tap left and right quickly. Speed up and weave through the stone while bombing the shrimpbots that are trying to rise up into you. The last boulder in your way can be destroyed. The next section will have three waves of shell bots three wide. You need to dodge low, then high, then low again. The next area has a bunch of frogmen that are easily taken out with missiles. Stay high as possible to avoid the orange lifesuckers in the next area. When the cave exit appears stay back and high because a group of shell bots will come flying through. Keep going and you will run into the next boss. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Overlord of Atlantis ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This boss is a giant fat guy surrounded by four frogmen rotating around him. Unfortunately, these frogmen are not as easy as the ones scattered throughout the level. Use a similar approach to this boss as you did the first underwater boss you encountered. I like to stay either high or low and draw the groups fire out. When they all fire, quickly move from the top to the bottom, firing on a frogman as you go. Don't worry about the Overlord himself. The battle here is the frogmen. The more you kill the easier it gets. Another decent strategy is to use bombs from high while your waiting for them to fire. The angle the bombs drop is perfect to land on the counter-clockwise swirling frogmen if you are in the right range. ========== Stage 8 ========== Pistol Lord show your skill Bravoman it's Stage 8! This is a maze of a level. You will start off outside and immediately walk into a Japanese building. In such, there are screen doors that open and enemies everywhere. If you choose to run around in different directions, you run the risk of ending up in a dead-end or at a place you can't jump to. I have tried to plot out the simplest way for you. Head up the first stairs you see when you enter the dojo. At the top of the stairs head left and grab a scroll. Head back to the right, jump the stairs you just came up and try to attack the mushroom fan things hanging from the ceiling. If you don't, they will fall down on you. Head right for another scroll and two health powerups. Jump the next gap you see and immediately ground attack the snake and other enemy that are waiting for you. Jump up and punch the annoying butterfly bot out of the air. Jump the next gap and you will land on some stairs that head up and to the right. Kill the enemies in this area and take those first stairs you see right above you. Head all the way to the left in the direction you walked up the stairs until it dead-ends. Jump up the stairs that head to the right. In this area jump over the spikes when they go down. Let any enemies, like the little welder bots, come to you. Jump over the next gap and proceed to jump over the spikes in the next area. Be careful of the mushroom fan things falling from the ceiling. Head forward, because it's boss time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Pistol Lord ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This boss is not fast and has an easy enough pattern to get down. When you see him you'll say the same thing I did: "Yep, that's a guy with a gun glued to his head." He'll shoot a couple of shots that can be destroyed by your attacks. This is where you need to hammer him, when he's on the ground. His aerial attack is next. He'll slowly jump over you and sprinkle down four or five white shots down on you. Just run the direction your enemy was standing and you should dodge these fairly easy. Continue with this back and forth, until the Pistol Lord stops and begs you to stop. If you hit him or not, he'll jump up and start the attacks all over again. After some more damage he'll fall and beg you to stop hitting him again. Whether you stop or not, he'll jump up and attack again. Give him some more damage, and he'll finally run off. ========== Stage 9 ========== My hairstyle is modern also. Bravoman it's Stage 9. The stage starts with some small flying bots and an armored bot. Take them out and jump the first set of pipes stacked on one another. Take the platform up and negotiate the mines. When you get to the pipe robots, give them a kick and the first two should be dead. Jump down into a clearing where two strange bots will zoom towards you and start rotating around you. Every two rotations they will stop and electrocute you. You need to kick out when there's one in front of you. When one is killed the other one will explode as well. Punch the two orange, jumping bots and take the two platforms over the tall pipe to the right. On the other side another electrocution duo will appear. Take them out as well as the armored bots on the ground. Walk forward a little further and you will see another set of two pipes stacked on one another. Crawl forward into the bottom tube, and you will find and extra life. Warning: If you take the extra life and are using the infinite continue cheat, you will lose it! Continue on and time your jump over the mine. Once on the high pole you have a choice, jump down and attack a bunch of enemies and end at a dead end, or do a blind jump to the cloud on the right. Jump through the clouds to the right. Pass through the next two pipe structures, clearing the enemies as you go. Your pal from Planet Alfa will drop by and give you some scholarly advice: "His weak point is his head. Attack there." Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: G-7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you see this enemy, you'll realize this long necked bird needs to be attacked at the head. The bird will swing his head from top to bottom. At the high and low point of each swing he'll shoot off two shots in the direction of your location. Kind of like a Squrain with tweice the shots released. Draw his fire when his head is low and jump with him to dodge the shots. As you rise, his head should be rising. Attack in the air once or twice. Attacking twice and three times a swivel usually ends in getting hit. You will have to be patient with this boss, because it will take a while. Phase 2: Once the head is destroyed, the body will take on a life of its own. The body will let off two shots to start with and then chase you around. That's it, no other attack. The body will try to constantly run into you to take your health out. This guy is fast too! Jump over to the stone platform and draw him towards you, when he's about to jump up to you, jump over him and rush to the left, turn and try to get in a punch before he's on you again. He is very fast, so you will probably only get one ground punch off. Repeat this process to take him out. Continue on to the next level. ========== Stage 10 ========== Can you beat this? Bravoman it's Stage 10 This level has a lot of enemies crammed into a lot of small spaces. The first you will encounter will be a stone golem. Kick him in the air as much as possible. If he gets to the ground backtrack and try to punch faster. Take the platforms up taking out the enemies as you go. Jump over the mine and you'll be facing a wall. Your next jump will be to the left then up. When you do you'll run into about three helmet enemies, a stone golem, and a butterfly. Try to split the helmets as they fall down and take out the stone golem. Take out the butterfly next. Try to fall down the other side as fast as possible to minimize your damage. Head across, jump through the mines and take the platform lift up. Head right to the next boss. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Waya Princess ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do you see that small area to the fall left that's lower than the stage the boss is standing on? Get there! Waya's first attack is a huge group of batons across at you. If your standing in the little depression, just crouch. Her next attack will be to jump at you and back, at you and back again. While she does this she will be releasing one of two shots at your location. Jump these shots. On her third jump the Princess will land on the stage right in front of you. Stand up and let lose with the punches, you will have the chance to hit her quite a few times at this point. She'll go back into a jumping tirade, including some batons you'll have to dodge, and then she'll start the cycle over again. As long as you nail her for all its worth when she lands in front of you, she should be easily defeated. ========== Stage 11 ========== I will give it to you I will.... Bravoman it's Stage 11 This is a bonus stage in the clouds. I'm not going to spend too much time on it. If you jump to the top towers the left, you will run into the large bot that keeps you going if you stand still too long. Evidently, he's guarding some superior prize. Get it if you like. Otherwise, grab as many powerups as possible and head on out. ========== Stage 12 ========== You will now see the great power of robots! Bravoman it's Stage 12 Take the three platform lifts up into the scaffolding. Cross the top and take the missile firing bot out. Drop down and head to the next building. Jump through the mine and take out the two FT bots you come across. Jump down and take the next platform lift up. There are two pipe bots that need taken care of. To the right is a high wall you can't jump over. Perform a Bravo Jump to get over (jump+punch+punch). The little extra jump will get you over the wall. Start jumping down the stairs, but careful for the FT bot that's waiting behind you on one of the steps. Jump over the red building, telephone booth and take out the tank and balloon bots. Do a Bravo Jump to the top of the electric tower in your way. See the cloud platform? Jump up there. Take out the FT bot and then Bravo Jump to the higher cloud platform above you. Start jumping to the right on the clouds for a power up and then jump off to the right to land on some more scaffolding. Walk along and you'll fall through a "trap". Keep walking to the right till you reach another wall you can't jump over. There is a cloud to your left. Jump onto the cloud and then back over the wall in your way. Crouch in front of each of the hawk head bots you'll encounter. Wait for the opportunity and hit them in the heads to kill them. Jump carefully through the mines and take the low path at the split. Continue slowly through the zig zag area, taking out the many bots on the second level. Keep heading right, jump off the platform, and run into your buddy from the Planet Alfa. "Watch out for V-9s missile attack." Thanks again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: V-9 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Strangely, I think this is the easiest boss in the game. The V-9 has two attacks. A lower battery of missiles that will fire into your face if you try to punch forward, and a battery of higher missiles. The higher set of missiles will fly over your head, and are used to keep you from jumping. Problem here is you have a kick. Start kicking V-9 in the head. He'll fire his high group of missiles and they'll fly over your head. When he moves towards you, jump over him and repeat. ========== Stage 13 ========== You will be tortured little by little. Bravoman it's Stage 13 You start this level with a new enemy: little purple guys on pogo sticks. They take a few shots to take out, so backtrack if you have to. Continue over the platforms that light up and you'll reach a choice. The high road or the low road. The stairs up will greet you with many butterflies throwing batons, helmet bots and other chaos. The lower path has bats, welder bots, stone golems and two scrolls. Head the lower path and take it slow, you will be clearing a lot of enemies. This area is a straight path, no real strategy. Just a simple, systematic elimination of all the enemies that are thrown at you. When you get to the other side of the cave it's boss fight time already! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Kyosho ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The makers of this game decide that since the last boss was so simple, this one should be near impossible. When you approach, Kyosho will be standing there. When the battle begins, he turns into a 4 point star and begins to shoot around the screen in a fixed pattern. The pattern is two diamonds. He starts in one direction, will pause for a second and then retrace the path he just took back. The path he travels will always be the same, where it starts (height, distance) changes each time you knock him down. The object of this boss is to knock him out of the air with three hits. When you do, where ever he was at the third hit is where he will slowly fall to the ground. At this point you have a few seconds to hit him as many times as possible. You can usually hit him two times, but you need to hit him three times. This guy takes a lot of practice to get past without losing too much damage. Practicing in the boss arena will definitely help. ========== Stage 14 ========== The machinegun will soon get you. Bravoman it's Stage 14 We're underwater again. This level is fast and furious. Try to stay at the front of the screen, because there will be two opportunities for health, but you have to be far ahead in the screen to have any chance at getting them. Maneuver through the first area of stone and coral pillars. The screen scrolls fast, and if you get caught behind any of it, you will lose some drastic health. Head down into the cave and bomb the three sea anemone's you come across. The next clearing will have some easy shell bots to take out. Head for the bottom of the screen and try to head back into the cave where the health bonus is. As soon as you get the powerup, swim forward to dodge the octopus fire. In the next area watch for the snakes that fly up between the stone blocks. The next anemones are easily bombed and maneuver through the next set of stone barriers. The next area you will have to dodge a lot. The anemones are in stone boxes you can't penetrate. Navigate another set of stone barriers and float forward for a boss fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Black Submarine Bravoman ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's your doppelganger, and he's back in submarine form. Unlike your first meeting, he is faster than you and his bomb attack is much faster and deadlier. His pattern includes firing low for a while, in which he'll bob back and forth, then head high and drop a waterfall of shrapnel. As he heads back down to where he started he will fire some missiles. I like to stay in one of two areas. The first area is at the back against the stone outcropping. If you sit here and fire you can hit the top of your enemy when the mine moves out of your way. The mine serves to block his missiles coming at you too. You will have to split the mines when the Black Sub Bravoman moves to the top of the screen to shower you with his bomb attack. When he's done, split the mines and head low to avoid your enemies fire as he returns to his main firing spot. A similar strategy works if you stay near the top of the boulder at the top right of the screen. At this point you can drop bombs on the sub if you angle it right. Once he's dead, he'll say some "out of character" remarks and leave you some health. Float on..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Super Squran ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So it's another Squran, like from the third stage. Use a similar strategy. This boss is a little quicker, and the rider doesn't just throw one shot, it's a triple shot that spreads out like a cone, but always in the middle. This eliminates the middle part of the screen pretty much. Use the same strategy as before: draw the fire of the searpent heads high or low and when the projectiles are coming towards you move to the opposite pole of the screen. If you time it right each move should be done so you also dodge the triple shot coming across the screen. This fight is about timing and getting into a rhythm. Once one head is dead, the second will be easier to take down. ========== Stage 15 ========== HHAAAAAAHHHHHHHH PPPPOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWEEEEEERRRRRRR Bravoman it's Stage 15 The quickest way through this stage is to stay along the top. The top of the stage is full of those green monsters who dive down into you. You can tempt them to dive into you, double back, and then kill them with kicks or punches. Jump the next gap, kill the next three green things and the butterfly. Jump as far as you can at the next gap and you'll land down in the cave by some green spikes. Some rats will crawl along the ground. Ground attack the rats and time your walk across the spikes. On the other side, climb the stairs and you will be at the next boss. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Ikazuchi ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nothing like a big fat sumo guy with hair out of the 80's. He'll stomp his way onto the scene and try to sumo push you. That's all he does. He runs back and forth trying to push you, that's it. He's actually pretty fast for a big fat sumo guy. Just jump and hit him in the back, he can't be attacked in the front. You need to time your jump to start before he begins to run at you. You can also Bravo jump in the air to give you some extra time in the air. Hit him in the back a few times and he's done for. ========== Stage 16 ========== Temple Unbab you'll be turned to rock too Bravoman it's Stage 16 Remember Unbab, your first boss in this game? Yes, the totem pole guy. Well, turns out he has his own temple full of guys just like him. Everything in this stage reacts to being punched like he did. If you hit a block with a brain in it or any other colored block, it's going to rear back and then fly at you. So prepare for lots of jumping and crouching. The first thing you run into is your buddy from Planet Alfa, who tells you "Lottery Man has been captured in this temple". Walk forward and hit the first two blocks, and dodge as they fly towards you. Now attack all the brain blocks sitting on the stairs and make your way up. Jump over the first gap and get the powerup behind the blocks. Go back and fall down the gap you just jumped. There will be two totems down there and your buddy Lottery Man in a holding cell. Head to the right, take out the two blocks sitting on the purple pole. Now up above you should see a red block. Bravo jump up and knock it away. Then Bravo jump up onto the ledge. Turn and face Lottery Man's cell, and attack the walls. Jump over to him and he'll tell you to find him at his shop later and he'll give you a reward. Jump back down and head to the right. Hit the red blocks off the pole, and Bravo Jump up to the ledge. Jump to the right and Bravo Jump up and to the left to a ledge if you want a quick health fix. Jump back down and head to the right. Crawl underneath the stairs and fall down the first gap you find. Turn to your left and quickly destroy the blocks to get the health. Bravo jump out of this pit and head towards the right again. Before you get to the top of the stairs, look across and hit the two brain blocks sitting there. You should open a passage you can fall down that has three goodies and two totem blocks you need to take out. Climb back out, head right and down and crawl your way to the next area. Take out the totem and notice the red totem on the ledge above you. Take the totem out and Bravo jump up to that ledge. You will now be facing a huge wall, run from the left and Bravo Jump over the wall. Up here is Lottery Man's store, he'll give you a big health boost. Jump off to the right and prepare for the next boss! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Black Bravoman ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This boss fight is exactly the same as the first time you met this guy. He may be a little quicker, and his jumps and dives are a tad different. Other than that the best way to dispatch him is by crouching and punching. ========== Stage 17 ========== See the mighty force of under-sea corps Bravoman it's Stage 17 These underwater levels are always tough, but this one holds a little secret at the end. Take off and take out the first wave of octopi. Next, dodge the next four waves of shells that come across the screen. This is followed by some fish, frogmen and those annoying orange things that grapple onto you. Stay low at the split and then kill the baby dragon. The area gets tight here, but there's actually less enemies. One fish and a frogmen in the first area, and a few frogmen in the next couple. Most of the boulders in this area can be destroyed. Clear this area and your at the boss, why such a short level? HA! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Overlord of Atlantis ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The only difference with this fight from the first one is some speed of shots, and a stone block that impedes some of your maneuvering. All four frogmen shoot at the same time, and the Overlord gets off a shot at a lesser rate. I like to start at the top and move down with one frogman at a time, hitting him as many times as I can the way down. At the bottom, the group will get a shot off, so dodge back up high and start the cycle over again. Each frog killed makes it easier. If you have seriously depleted all the frogs pretty well, you can go to the top of the screen above the Overlord and rapid fire at the top of the circle the frogmen are rotating in. This usually kills all four in turn as they come around. Beat the Overlord and carry-on through the next cave. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Sea Ugo ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Didn't we just leave this party? Sea Ugo is a big helmet that shoots energy balls and has the same four shield of frogmen as the Overlord had. Use the same strategy of drawing the fire, dodging and shooting as you did in the last battle. The Sea Ugo does not fire at you like the Overlord. His shots are pretty fixed. Get the pattern for his shots down and worry about the four shots from the frogmen instead. Draw the frogmen's fire down on you, move up while you fire. Usually you would stay up high after moving from bottom to top, but Sea Ugo will hit you if you stay up there. To minimize your damage, move to the top from the bottom, and then head back down. The frogmen will fire off a round towards the top of the screen, and you should stay idle. When the frogmen fire back down on you, start the cycle over again. You get half as many shots off, but you will more than likely take less damage by not putting yourself out in the open as much. When the frogmen are all dead, Sea Ugo will draw back into the bottom right corner and start a new attack sequence. Phase 2: Sea Ugo will shoot off a triple shot in a straight line and then charge towards your location. If you stay in the bottom left corner, he will get right in front of you, but he won't touch you. The other safe spot is in the top of the screen at the edge of the rock outcropping. Sea Ugo will charge towards you up there and also stop short. Dodge his triple shot while moving to one of those two "safe" areas. While in transition fire away. This portion of the battle should not give you too much trouble. ========== Stage 18 ========== Your place to die has been decided. Bravoman it's Stage 18. The only things in this level are boss fights! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Benjamin x2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This boss fight is Benjamin from earlier, except there's two of them, and it is madness. The pattern is the same, just two of them doing it at the same time. Try to focus on one of them at a time. If you waste your energy attacking both alternatively, you will get worked, and lose much more energy then eliminating them one at a time. The good thing about this boss is, the batons they throw are destructible. You are going to have to stay towards the middle of the screen because of all the jumping from one side to the other. When they are on either side attack rapidly, the first time through strategy still applies. Crouch when they throw the first round of batons in the cycle, and they will fly over your head. Attack as they start to jump with punches and angle kicks. The place you will take the most damage is when they do the sprinkle move above you and drop the batons on your head. You have to move in the opposite direction they are heading to miss the majority of them. Even if you try to kick these out of the air as the approach you, the last one will still get you. Just like before the majority of your attack will be in the first half of the pattern when they throw the three mid batons, fly over you and release the one lone baton. After that you should be evading and jumping when you can. After the first one dies, you shouldn't have a problem taking out the second one by himself. Once you're finished, walk forward through the statues to the next arena. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Ikazuchi ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the same sumo from before. Just one of them also! He seems like he may be a little faster, because I was only able to get one shot in the back at a time. Just like the first time through, he can only be attacked from behind. Wait for him to turn and jump over him before he starts to run to the other side of the screen. He should be easy to take out. ========== Stage 20 ========== You will be amazed to be lost in a maze. Bravoman it's Stage 20. Dr. Bomb said it all, it's a maze. Take the lift up to the top of the level. The small opening in the walls are the areas you will be crawling out when you take a wrong turn in this maze, taking you back to the beginning. When you get to the top kill the enemy. You will have three choices, ie. three pits to fall down into. The first two will lead to the same place, out the side and back to the beginning. So dodge the mines and jump down the last pit. After a few drops you will end up in the first decision, there should be a mine in front of you and you should be facing right, with the choice of down or to the right. Fall down, the way to the right is a dead-end. Crawl under the next mine and take out the helmet bot. You should now be standing in front of three pits. The first one takes you back out to the beginning. The third one and second ones meet with one another. Jump down the second one and head left and then back to the right. You will reach a vertical chamber where you have to head up with a series of Bravo Jumps. There is a statue sitting at the bottom of this chamber, if you crouch and walk into it, you will be swept off to a different dimension with your friend from Planet Alfa. He will give you one of the two extra lives in the game (the other one was in level 9). WARNING: If you take this life, and you are playing with unlimited lives cheat, you will lose the cheat! Anyways, Bravo Jump up the chamber taking out pesky stone golems as you do. At the top, take the stairs above you for some health. Walk forward to an area with more pits. The further you go the better bonus you will fall into. At the bottom of your fall head to the right, it's time for a boss fight. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Waya Princess ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This boss is identical as the first fight. When she stops on either side, give her as many punches as you can. Her batons are destructible as well. Her jump pattern is the same, and she doesn't throw more than one baton at a time when she jumping around above you. Kick her in the air and pummel her when she stops to do her bigger attack. When she's gone, continue to the dojo... This is supposed to be a continuation of the maze, but the point is you can Bravo Jump to any stair and end up the same place. The first three floors are the same. Lots of enemies coming out of sliding doors including helmet bots, the girl under the mask and butterfly bots. On the third floor, head to the far right and take the stairs up to the left. The stairs should have some green spikes below them. Head to the left and you will run into some more green spikes and more enemies. At the far left of this floor if a whole in the ceiling to the next floor. Bravo Jump up into the next floor. As you head to the right, slowly take out the bats and the purple pogo stick guys. At the far right of the floor you will meet the next boss. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Pistol Load ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This fight is identical to the first one. The missiles are destructible. I like to crouch and rapidly attack when he's at either side firing. When he flies over to sprinkle the white bombs on you, make sure you pick two to jump between. If you just try to walk in between them you will take damage, even if you didn't get hit by them. He'll stop and pretend to be done twice, just like the first time you fought him. Take him out and continue on. ========== Stage 21 ========== This is the last place you can go back too. Bravoman it's Stage 21. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Black Bravoman ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow the same strategy as you have the last two times you've played this guy. This version likes to run into you a little more, so you may want to throw in some jumps. Be careful if you try to jump around a bit, Black Bravoman tries to stand in the place you will land so you will take damage. Take him out and continue on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Zortan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Use the same strategy as you did the first time around. Hold your attacks until he lets off an attack and drops his shield. Punch in the air of kick up into him. This battle should not give you too much trouble at this point. Once you beat Zortan Lottery Man comes and tells you this is the last time he can help you. He will give you another life. Once again, if you have the unlimited continue code in, you will lose that ability if you take the extra life. It's time for the final stage! ========== Stage 22 ========== Bravoman my fatal rival, let's fight! Bravoman it's Stage 22. The final stage, it's about time. The first group you will run into is yet another set of Double Benjamins. Take them out exactly as described in the Stage 18 description. The only different thing is you have that robot that has annoyed you this entire game hanging out shooting laser strikes at you while you fight. Once the Benjamins are dead you will have to fight him. Unlike in the middle of a game, your robot enemy will hang back in the air and just fire lasers beams at you. Do a Bravo Jump over the beam to get in one or two punches as you go. He really has no other attack but sitting there and the lasers. Your rage from having him bother you the entire game every time you wanted to rest for half a second should be enough to take him down. Next, you will run into Black Bravoman for the last time. This fight is the same as the other THREE times you have played him in this game. If you're lucky, there is a glitch where Black Bravoman will turn at the right side of the screen and punch off screen. If this happens you can drill him in the back a bunch of times without being in any danger. If not, just crouch and punch like you have historically. After you defeat him Black Bravoman tells you that he came to improve you, and you're now stronger. He'll give you your last health powerup and it's on to Dr. Bomb. Notice the interesting portraits on the wall behind him.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss: Dr. Bomb ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Phase 1: When you first approach Dr. Bomb will appear and start attacking with two different shots. His head is at perfect height for angle kicks. To get them off though, you will have to draw his fire up. When you land, try to get a kick off. You have to kick him in the hair, if you kick him anywhere else he'll say something silly like "Go To Noting" and continue to fire missiles out of his robe. The missiles coming out of his robe can be destroyed. When you start kicking his hair he will shoot a laser from there. Jump over it, and land and continue to kick him in the hair. Your kicks should be able to take out the oncoming missiles as well. Once you take his health down he'll exchange some more ludicrous dialogue and it's time for ... Phase 2: His head has now detached from him body and will float around the room. It will stop and fire off two or three laser strikes. To defeat this Phase you will just need to Bravo Jump. Jump to his head and attack and then continue the Bravo Jump over him. If the maneuver worked, you should hit him once and fly over him free of the laser beams. He will move to a different location. Repeat the process until he's done. Congratulations, you have beaten Bravoman! Your friend from Planet Alfa gives you some kind words and then enlightens you to the fact that you're some normal citizen, so run home and get your family, and say goodbye.
