------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------[ VIDEOCART 13: Robot War/Torpedo Alley ]----------------- ---------------------------------[by Ice Queen Zero]--------------------------- ------------------------------------[Channel F]-------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- o---------------------o INTRODUCTION o---------------------o This is one of the games that today I would say it is a little on the meh side as you are just playing a game that is so simple, you can easily code it if you knew any languages like C++, Flash, Javascript, etc. I don't feel like rambling off a bunch of example source code. I'll just get on with the FAQ. o---------------------o DISCLAIMER o---------------------o Videocart 13: Robot War/Torpedo Alley and its characters are trademarks of Fairchild and all copyrights belong to them. Below is a small dialog of what the buttons will do. 1 - Robot War 2 - Torpedo Alley +---------------------+ | Robot War | +---------------------+ M? 1 - slow speed robots 2 - medium speed robots 3 - fast speed robots 4 - super speed robots You play as the man and you are going against four robots. The man is green, the robots are red and the electronic fields are blue. The object of this game is to control the man and lure the robots into magnetic fields. Destroying all four will score you one point. If a robot catches you, an electronic field will disappear. If caught four times, the robots score a point. It is possible for you and the robots to wrap around the screen. Just remember, you can also move diagonally while the robots can't unless... In a two player game, player two has the ability to control the robots at once and also gains the ability to move diagonal as well. If the player stops moving the robots for a period of time, the computer will take over, and the player will regain control by pressing any cardinal direction. There is no end to this game, you just go for 99 points. +---------------------+ | Torpedo Alley | +---------------------+ T? 1 - 2:00 2 - 5:00 3 - 10:00 4 - 20:00 Press 4 on the console to start the game when S? is on the screen. M? will determine the speed. You (and another player if you choose) shoot at ships that are zipping by the screen on the top in three levels. The top ship is worth five points, the ship in the middle level is worth three points and the bottom ships are worth one point a piece. Yes I'm aware that the player ships look like middle fingers but heck almost all early games look like people could make characters before they learned how to speak or walk. You can twist left or right to change the angle of the cannos to that direction and you also have to shoot past some barriers that protect the upper ships and middle ones too. Your goal is to reach 99 or have the most points at the end of time. o---------------------o CREDITS o---------------------o Fairchild for making the game.
