So I'm done updating until someone can tell me where/how to get to those missions. 0.8= Well, nothing new. I re-formatted it again, and hoped that it worked! I CANNOT find Missions 7-9; 13, or 14. I'm trying to beat Mission 15 without dying and going to prison camp. E-mail me at hailjh@hotmail.com. *****STORY***** (from manual) Listen up! You guys are greener than the corn in June! Just how old are you? ...Well, no matter. You've been briefed on the details of this mission, right? What? Hmm, judging by your apprehensive mugs, you aren't too clear on the fine points. Well, then, I'll fill you in again, and you better pray to the Almighty you don't forget this time. Your mission, and you have no choice whether to accept it, is to infiltrate the government force's materials storage facility and destroy it. Simultaneously, you must abduct the enemy leader. That's it. Piece of cake, huh? And don't worry about a shortage of enemies, because the government forces are lead by famous guerrilla Colonel Bildegaarn. And what's worse, the leader at the front lines is the expert hand-to-hand combat, Lieutenant Colonel McBarr. I'm expecting results, greenhorns, that do not bring shame to the Elite Special Forces Squad, the Peregrine Falcons. Don't let me down! *****CONTROLS***** Pretty simple, since there are only three buttons... A= Shoot Current Weapon B= Jump O= Switches to your second weapon and back again Control Stick= Moving All of these controls are the same for your character, the Slug Flyer and Metal Slug *****IMPORTANT CHARACTERS***** Player Character= You're a recruit that has applied to take part in this mission as a member of the Elite Special Forces Squad, the Peregrine Falcons. Will you be able to mow your way through this brutal battlefield as expected? Lieutenant Colonel McBarr= An expert at close combat, clad in special body armor. Able to cloud people's senses, this thug approaches his prey and strikes mercilessly, just like a wild animal. Colonel Bildegaarn= A master of guerilla warfare and the target of this mission. He is believed to be the ringleader of mysterious doings carried out by government forces, everything from gathering weapons in complete secrecy to involvement in the development of new weapons. The main goal here is go get from the right side of the level, to the left. This level gives you experience with all of the equipment. You get your first Machine Gun from the guard in the tower. When you come to the helicopters, use your bombs. Jump and throw. Then continue on and free your first hostage. Under the tank use bombs like the helicopter trick. Instead of taking the zip line, jump down and free the hostage there. Then jump over the first spike pit and then you can leap over the second. After you kill the next tank you go into the Metal Slug. One of the first guards will give you a cannon to use. Watch out for guards from windows. Use the cannon to kill the tanks. On the second tank (next to the wrench) jump and fire your cannon. Then jump up and then across to the wrench. Then I ususally go down past the hut. Then you come to a place where you have to stay and fight a flood of guards. Then you'll jump out of Metal Slug into Metal Flyer. Right off you get some missiles. You will face some homing missles then you can get a wrench. As you go down to ground level use your bombs (B) to get the targets below you. Then after you get the continue coin you face your first boss. To beat it, swich to your bombs. Then jump and throw the bombs at it. It will be an easy fight. Watch out for the predictable gunfire it spits out. ++Mission 1: Hurry On++ Just get all of the Missiles you can and just follow the level. ++Mission 2: Slicing Through the Jungle++ Here there are beehives. Try to take them out first. The first two guards at the campfires will give you a coin and a machine gun. Now here is a little fun. When you jump to infront of the beehives, shoot up and then switch to shooting forward. This will kill a guard and then you can kill the beehive without an interuption. Then jump up to where the guard was to get a Rocket Launcher. Then kill the other beehive, and then jump through the trees to get items. Then when you jump out of the trees shoot down to kill the guard and damage the tank. Then jump up and shoot down to kill the tank, and free the hostage. Then start to watch out for moving bushes and shoot those. The best way to go through the zip lines is to go down half way and jump the rest of the way. Shoot down to kill the guard with your Rocket Launcher. Then jump on the next zip line and jump to the safety from the tank, which is to duck down and then destroy the tank. Then when you see the tank after that is to get above it in the trees, wait for it to fire, and when it does, jump down and duck in front of it. Then you can safely destroy it. Then you can burn past the guards and dodge the missiles and then meet up with the guy at end of all the stages. ++Mission 3: Battle in the City++ If you decide to go in the first door, you can take a shortcut to Mission Ten. The hostage ahead gives you a Rocket Launcher to take out tanks easier. Continue past the tank above you. Then go into the door, down the moving pad, where is a door which leads to nothing, a guard, and two beds of spikes. You will see another hostage, and another outside near a boot. He will give you a shotgun, **WHICH YOU MUSTN'T LOOSE!**, you can easily blow past the three tanks with your shotgun. Then you will face another boss. A train. Here the best way is to have your shotgun is to unload it on the train, then followed by bombs if you don't stop it with the shotgun. If you don't have a shotgun, use your bombs until you run out and then just use your other gun further back. ++Mission 4: Underground Water Pass++ When you get down here, go to the left... to the right is another hallway.Go in the door and you pass a stationary gun. Contine to go down. In one hallway there is two rooms of hidden goodies. You will have to shoot up to get them. Watchout for guys falling from the roof. Then at the end of this hallway is that guy you meet at the end of the Missions. ++Mission 5: Pursuit of the Transport Train++ This is a good level to build up your military rank. If you build up your military rank then you get more life in the levels. Just ignore the guards on the train, and jump over those electric bars and collect all of the items you can. Then meet up with the guy in the blue car at the front of the train. This is a fun and easy level once you get here. ++Mission 6: Penatration of Front Base Go forward so you start the bomb flow and then follow the bombs to that first high up door. When you get close, jump on a bomb, then up to the door. In there you can get a shotgun. Next door is a hostage, but I'd keep the shotgun, because it's my favorite. :) After the tank is a hidden special shot, which you will need for the next boss. Up more before the tank is some life. Kill the tank and go through the door there. You will need to cross some platforms. Watch out because some open up and fall beneith you. Half way through is some Rockets. To beat the boss (Lieutenant Colonel McBarr) use your special shoot to kill him and then don't pick up the Machine Gun and use your Rocket Launcher after that. If you don't have Secret Shot, use your bombs to kill him. ++Mission 7: Discovery of the Front Base++ Go up the pads until you see a barrel to your left. Then get off and head to the door on the left. Then you will pass a tank and then you will have to jump over electrified poles. Then you will come to a door where men will spawn from it. After four more tanks go on and then down after some bazooka men and then you go up a pad and then down another pad, to the end of this Mission. ++Mission 8: Forced Escape++ The camera forces you to go fast. The blimp will fire at you from a distance, and it adds more pressure on you. I can't help much, just watch out for the blimp shooting at you and the tank shooting at you. First kill the tank, then cross the pit. Then there will be a pair of airplanes and then you will finish the mission. ++Mission 10: Night Flight++ You weave up and down this whole mission. Watch out for those crosshairs that shoot imetiatly. Also the guys who are in black, with jet packs. When you begin to see Alien Hatchers, get ready for a fight. You are fighting a blimp. Use your missiles then your Vulcan Cannon. You must dodge the heavy fire that the blimp gives out. While you fly over it you can get two bombs in on the blimp. While it is at a distance, you must hide in the right corner for the first shot, and then the left corner for the other two. That way you can start shooting at it as soon as you can. ++Mission 11: Fortress++ Keep your gaurd up. The first tank will give you a shotgun. Then you wade through a moat, while dodging fish, and crosshairs. At the end you have to blast a tank, which is easy with a shotgun. Go up through the flamethrower field. Go to the left in the next room and jump on the button. This next area just needs timing and practice. You only need to jump 6 times to cross. If you go to the left you can get more shotgun shot. Then go to the right, and after you blow up the tank, go through the door to get some hidden coins. With the shotgun you will need to jump and shoot to get the four coins. Then jump accros the moats. You will have to go down a step to jump on the bridge. The tank outside will give you a Rocket Launcher. Then face the flood of guards. Then at the end is that same guy. ++Mission 12: Weapons Dump++ Go in the first door and shoot up. Then exit that room. Then use your bombs totake out the spike-bomb throwers. One door has a full life re-filler. Go down until you get a Rocket Launcher and you will go on convayer belt dodging flamethrowers. Then go back until you get where you started on those flamethrowers. Go up to the top of the tower. Then go left until you see the "GO->" sign. Then jump up and over it to the other side. Then go in a door where there is a odd looking gun. Then work your way up to the top again. Then get to the highest you can and then over to the far right and fall down the pit to a door. Then you will face a tank and airplane then as you contine on you will face a man powered machine. Use your special shot (if not use bombs) and then your machine gun. Watch out for derbits falling from a crane. ++Mission 15: Breakthrough With Prejudice++ The first hostage will give you cannon fire. Then you have to shoot the helicopters. Next you will have to cross a ravine, and if you fall in you will have to go to prison camp. Watch out for those flying black guys and the tank at the end. Then you will see a "GO->" sign. In here you will need to work your way up to the top of the walkways. A landmark is a man with a Bazooka on a green platform. At the top, you will need to slide down a metal box. At the end, if you land in front of a tank, don't kill it, you should jump on top of it onto the platform above you. Then you will see a "GO->" sign. Here, the camara moves and you have to keep up. The only advice I'll give is to fire your cannon in the moat to kill those black guys that fly. Then you meet up with the guy at the end, and you contine on to Final Mission. ++Final Mission: Fierce Battle++ The hostage will give you a coin. In the first door work your way up to the top on those bricks. If you go past the first stationary gun you see (behind it to the right) you will start the final battles. You begin your first battle with Colonel Bildegaarn. The boxes hatch men and tanks for you to also shoot at. Jump and shoot at the machine he is in. Then he will run away. Jump on the box that is given to you and chase him. When you free the hostage he will give you a shotgun. Then you will face McBarr again. He is still easy to beat. Then Bildegaarn is on another machine. Use bombs for it and then still follow the guy.... then suddenly there is a self-destruct is issued. You should only use bombs to get to the top. Watch out because some jumps are hard to get up over. You will go up onto a blimp top. Dodge the homing missiles and use bombs as much as you can. If/when you run out, use your machine gun. Then after that, you are parachuting to saftey as the credits roll and the blimp goes down in flames. Then you are done!
