General Explanation «««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««« Magical Drop II is a puzzle game where the object is to pop colored balloons by arranging them in sets of 3 or more vertically. When that happens, all balloons of that color that are touching the original 3. To do that, use these controls: ***** Controls ***** Left/Right: Move your clown across the board. Down 2x: Bring down a new layer of ballons. A: Grab the balloon(s) above your clown. B: Release the balloon(s) your clown has. C & D: NOT USED! ***** Popping Balloons ***** Here is an example of popping balloons. Take the scenario above. Once you've gotten here: |R R | |R | | | | | | | | | | | | C | (Clown has Nothing) ---------- Run quickly to the Red ones, grab them, then release them onto the last balloon. If done fast enough, this will make a Chain. There are several types of balloons in MD2, which include: ***** Balloon Types ***** Normal Balloons(Grabable, Throwable) These balloons come in 4 colors: Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green. When put in groups of 3 vertically, they disappear. Super Balloons(Grabable, Throwable) These balloons look like the normal ones, but have the "shell" cut off, revealing the inner design. When popped, they take out ALL balloons of that color. Ice Block(Grabable, Throwable) These chunks of ice can't be eliminated, unless you pop a set of balloons next to them. When that happens, ALL ice blocks on screen turn into balloons of that color. Frozen Balloons(Grabbable, Throwable) These blocks of ice are actually balloons that are frozen. When any balloons are popped near these, they will turn into a balloon of whatever color shown in the ice. Crystal(Grabable, Throwable) This block is akin to the Super Balloon, but instead of being for one color, this will work for ANY color. When put against 2 balloons of a color, they will pop and ALL balloons of that color will vanish. Water Balloon(Not Grabable, Not Throwable) This is a balloon meant to be in your way. It will not vanish until you throw a balloon against it. This will count as a balloon, and if one goes below the bottom of the screen, you die... Arrow Balloons(Grabbable, Throwable) These balloons function somewhat like the crystals. But, rather than taking out a color of balloons, these take out ALL balloons in the direction that they point. This will set off the arrow. The arrow will hit the crystal, which will eliminate Reds, which was what set it off. Game Modes «««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««« Magical Drop 2 has 3 modes, 2 Single-Player modes and a 2 Player Vs. Mode. ***** 1P Mode: Puzzle ***** In this mode, you play either as the High Priestess or the Devil. Your goal is to keep yourself alive as long as possible. As you play longer, the game gets progressively harder, throwing in Ice Chunks, and giving you less Crystals and Super Balloons. I've lasted until Level 27 on High Priestess(Hard) Mode with a score of 48981. On Devil(Medium) Mode, I scored 42302 and lasted to Level 15. (Devil starts on 1, HP on 20.) ***** 1P Mode: Vs. CPU ***** In this mode, you choose one of the characters, and battle against the other characters, controlled by the CPU. I have finally finished this mode! The trail you take through the enemies is: Fool ---> Star ---> Devil ---> Chariot ---> High Priestess ---> Justice ---> Magician ---> World ---> Strength ---> Emperess ***** 2P Vs. Mode ***** In this mode, you and the second player go at it head to head. Each player selects a character to use, and then try to take each other out. You can force extra lines to your opponent by making chains or clearing a LARGE amount of balloons at once.
