Most useful against Deathstrike ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.4 - THE BADDIES ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elsie Dee - Your main worry in this game, on most levels. You're on an unseen timer, which becomes visible when she's very close to you. The more it ticks down, the closer she is, and if she catches up, you're dead. You can increase the timer by putting distance between you, but as you'll see when she finally reaches the same screen as you, she's much better at cutting corners. Guards: Standard Weapon X cannon fodder. Fairly heavily armed though with rifles. Guard Droids: Big metal boxes that dispense highly annoying smaller, flying robots at a rapid pace. The smaller robots can QUICKLY fill a screen full of lead and rip you to pieces. If the Droids are in range of an uppercut or a super jump claw, kill em. If not, avoid, it's too much trouble. And if too many bots arrive, scroll them off the screen, then return. Roof Cannons: Small bots that crawl the ceilings and shoot at an angle. Easy prey to one super jump claw. Destroyer Program: Also known as Shiva. Stands in place and fires a very large energy cannon at you. The Hand: Your typical ninja cannon fodder. Come in four varieties: Generics: They use chops and kicks. Later, they bust out a VERY annoying human tornado move. Swords: They swing swords (duh). Fireballers: Kamehameha. Can also teleport, and later use the tornado attack as well. Jetpack: Float about throwing fireballs, but not very well. Tri-Fusion: Three bosses, who can tag off to one another at will. They are: Marble: A very large, bald, generic strong type. Punches and shakes the ground. Shard: An overgrown crystal turtle. Shoots rather weak spikes, but his main weapon is his spine covered back. Touching it causes damage to you, and he makes a habit of forcing you to touch it. Also teleports along the ground. Shiken: A four armed....um, thing, with four blades. Runs back and forth attempting to cut you, occasionally tossing his arms off like a boomerang. Loses arms as he takes damage. Lady Deathstrike: Takes a whopping one damage per hit from your standard strikes. Also has EXTREMELY ranged claw strikes, as well as regular close range ones. Soldiers: Quite durable, they shoot rifles and bazookas. They can only do it when standing still though, so don't let them. Helicopter: Flies about dropping off Soldiers while a gunner hangs out of the window and fires at you. Avoid for a bit and he'll go away. Geist: A Nazi cyborg with a gun arm that can shoot in all directions. Also releases bomb robots that march across the ground, and is backed up by a helicopter and a steady stream of Soldiers. Bloodscream: A big ugly vampire that runs back and forth swiping you with oversized claws. Also has an extremely long range jump, and a swooping bite. Mini-Cyber: Little Cybers carrying big spiked clubs. Only vulnerable in the face. Deathstrike Birds: What they sound like, little Deathstrikes with wings and bird legs. They drop bombs on you. Stars: They fly around and blast the hell out of you with crystal shards. Kill before they get moving. Crystal Dragon: He's a big dragon made of crystal, only vulnerable in the jewel on his neck. Flies around slowly and shoots homing energy blasts. Cyber: Can only be hurt by knocking him into his own poison vats. Morphs into various things, such as giant bull heads, spiked balls and anvils, bashing into you. Also slashes with claws. Hellfire Club Mercs: They shoot rifles and hit you with the butts of them. Gunbots: They bounce and shoot. Black Queen: Totally invincible, Selene summons fists out of the floor, throws birds of flame, sets fire to the ceiling, throws chairs at your head and generally creates carnage. And she can suck out your life. But she's on a time limit, losing health the more attacks she uses. Fugue - Reeva Payge (not actually Benizar Kaur as her bio reads), she fires sonic blasts, morphs into a big moving claw, morphs into a pack of rats, flies and makes clones of herself. Her and the clone together can summon a fairly powerful lightning blast. Broodling: I have no idea why these things are underneath the Hellfire Club. Fast as all hell and can latch onto your back, draining your health. Great Beast: The big cheese of the Hand. Smacks you with a sword, sends shockwaves along the ground, coats the area with lightning from his sword, blows birds of flame in your general direction, splits into two skeletons with swords who you must dispose of to continue the fight. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.0 - WALKTHROUGH ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- "THE X-MEN MANSION HEADQUARTERS....HOME OF WOLVERINE Wolverine: One of us is going to have to give, computer! And it ain't gonna be me...! Monitor: Wolverine. Information regarding Weapon X program uncovered. Information relating directly to you. Meet me at the following coordinates, located in Canada. Come alone!" Weapon X Lab Baddies: Guard Droids, Roof Cannons, Guards, Destroyer Program No time to practice your moves, since Elsie Dee WILL come after you, even here at stage 1. Right, past two easily avoidable steam pipes. Jump into the wall, hit X to cling, scale it, right past two lasers, claw the door, through. Up the elevator, to your first Guard Droid. Get beneath, ignore any and all gunfire, duck and hammer A to uppercut it. If he's flashing white, you're hitting him, eight or so and he's gone. Kill the guards until your counter drops by one (the rest don't count), fall down the shaft, uppercut another Droid away, kill the guard. Get beneath the Roof Cannon on the ceiling, duck, super jump up, hit R to claw him. Over the hole in the floor, super jump claw another cannon. Over the hole, kill a guard for a power up. Super jump claw the Guard Droid above you (only takes 3). Scale the righthand wall, top out, head left a bit and claw another Droid. All the way left, claw through the wall, two easily killable guards and a full health. Head right, hopping back across the platforms. Through a small tunnel, work your way down. Two more Droids to kill, the first of which can be beaten easily by parking to his right, ducking and claw swiping, the second of which can be gotten beneath and uppercutted. This should reduce your counter to 2. Climb back up and head left to where you were with the platforms, fall to ground level, go left, fall down the hole. Past the lasers, skip the annoyingly placed Droid above you, kill a guard at the end. One more Droid to kill a bit above you. Grab the X, jump up through the previously sealed floor, right past another annoyingly placed Droid, claw the door, through. Right, claw the door, up the elevator. Right, kill a guard, ignore the Droid. Back left, down the elevator, ignore the Droid on the right (way too much effort to kill) and keep riding down. At the bottom, two easily killed Roof Cannons. Ignore another Droid, right, ignore the first hole in the ceiling but make note of it. Right, scale the wall, top out to the left, kill a Cannon. Right over the hole, kill a Guard and a Cannon to bring your counter down to 2. Right, scale the wall, left, (ignore the Droid), kill a Guard and a Cannon to 0 your counter. Now, the exit is directly to your right, but two permanent lasers are in the way. So backtrack a bit to that hole I told you to make a note of, scale it, to the left is a small computer which you must destroy to get rid of the lasers. Once you do, you have 30 seconds to make it back to the exit and through, or it's an instant game over (which is why you didn't want to destroy the thing until the counter was already at zero, lest the door be shut and you die). Make it, and you're at your first boss. And you get a password, which will function as checkpoints in case you die (just hit Start Game upon returning to the title screen, and you'll begin at your last one). DESTROYER PROGRAM Shiva's cake, really. Charge right past the first falling flame, wait out the second, get up in his face and slash away at his gun (but not too close, or you'll whiff). He has to stop to reload quite often, so he should die before you do. "Monitor: Attention Logan, the key to your past lies with Lady Deathstrike in Japan." Japan Baddies: The Hand (Generics, Fireballers, Swords, Jetpacks), Lady Deathstrike Right, where Generic, Fireball and Sword flavors of the Hand attack en masse. All are very easily killed with running claw swipes, and you can quickly get your kill counter down to 2 right here. Right, skip the two Jetpacks, up the hill to another wave of Generics. Kill two to bring your counter to 0, proceed right. All the way right, look out for a bamboo trap. Super jump over it, maim the Jetpack twins with uppercuts. Super jump over a few more traps, to find some Generic Hands standing atop narrow platforms. Easiest way to get them is to super jump up next to them, turn your back, hit L and knock em off with one backhand. Kill as many as you need to finish your counter, proceed right to your next boss. TRI-FUSION MUCH harder than the previous. You're actually fighting three interchangable bosses here, each with their own lifebar. Marble begins, and he's the easiest. Just use your running claw, don't let him punch you, and be careful of his random earth shaking, which can be avoided by jumping. Running kicks also work well, as they keep you off of the ground, where the quakes can't hurt you. After some damage, he'll tag out to Shard. Trick to him is you can't attack him from behind, and if you run into his back, you'll take heavy damage. So wait for him to turn to face you, hold your ground and slash his front to pieces. Soon he'll tag out to the hardest foe, Shiken. He's only vulnerable in the arms, and loses them as he takes damage. What you want to do is avoid him as best you can with super jumps, wait for him to chuck an arm, super jump it. Then hold your ground, slash away at his remaining arm to do heavy damage, and avoid the arm again on the return. He grows trickier towards the end, when he loses all of his arms save for the one he's throwing. Then you'll just have to resort to the running claw before he throws anything, hitting him in the limb until he dies. Next screen, hop to the right and avoid two hidden bamboo traps on the floor. Should you fall in, super jump out. To the right... Two Jetpacks. Kill em both with uppercuts and super claws jumps. Right... A Sword and a Fireball Hand. Kill both with running claws. All the way to the righthand wall, duck and hit X to dig. Left, avoid the two crushing pillars as best you can (I just ran past). Right, past another, past some dripping acid. Right, scale a wall, right, scale a wall all the way up until you latch on to the ceiling. Left straight over the pillars, super jump up to the ledge where the Hand are, kill em, proceed right. A Jetpack, a Sword and a Generic Hand. Kill all, proceed right. Kill the lone Fireballer before you eat too many arrows, grab the power up, dig through the center of the floor. Left, down, right, follow the path as it winds up and around, right. A Jetpack and a Fireballer. Kill both, right. Three Fireballers and a Sword. Running claws for all, right. Right, super jump claws for two Jetpacks. Right, kill a pair of Fireballers. Super jump your way up the window ledges of the building, turn and backhand a final Generic to zero the counter. To the left platform, kill another Generic. Now make a LONG superjump to the left from where the Generic was, landing on a small platform. A bit above you to the left is a door you'll need to head through. Up the righthand wall, all the way right past the traps, which can be avoided most easily by latching onto the roof and going over them. When you reach the end, dig through the floor. All the way to the left past more traps, dig through the floor, and you're at LADY DEATHSTRIKE She only takes one damage per hit, so standard attacks aren't going to work. Stand next to the buzzing electrical thingamabober on the left, duck, hit A and X at the same time. Wolverine sticks both claws to the left and the right, and if his right claw touches the electricity (that is, the claw to your left), power surges through him. Get Deathstrike to run into his other claw while this is happening, she gets nailed. Keep repeating it. If she decides to hang around above you, knock her down with a super jump claw. Also, don't stand around if she decides to get smart and pick you apart with ranged attacks. Just get away until she backs off, repeat the electric attack as she closes in. "Wolverine: Tell me about your father's adamantium bonding process! I know you hold the key to my past, Deathstrike! Deathstrike: You fool! You have been easily tricked into coming to Japan with tales of your past and you will surely meet your doom! Wolverine: Tricked by who? Tell me lady, or I'll finish you now! Deathstrike: No matter if I tell you for there is a contract out on your life. The name you require is Shaw....Shinobi Shaw! Wolverine: So Shinobi Shaw wants me dead! My guess is he's here in Japan, holed up in the Inner Circle's headquarters in Tokyo! Well here I come bub!" Tokyo Baddies: Soldiers, Helicopter, Geist, Bloodscream Right, where you'll meet up with the Soldiers, who all hit fairly hard, but have to hold still to fire their guns. The running claw makes short work of them. Kill three. Right, pin another to the wall and kill him too. Scale the wall. Right, and the Helicopter appears. Just dart back and forth, kill all the Soldiers, he'll go away soon enough. Mop up the remaining Soldiers for counter points. Right, down, four more Soldiers to kill. Right, scale up, kill another Soldier, super jump claw and pick apart another Soldier. Right and the Helicopter reappears, but just kill another couple of Soldiers and your counter should be at zero, meaning you can run straight past all the others to the end of the stage, which is at the top of a scalable wall. Try to kill the first couple of Soldiers here before the Helicopter appears yet again. After he does, just keep darting left and right swiping. Copter goes away eventually, mop up the Soldiers. I had 12 left on my counter here. Scale a small wall to your right, three more Soldiers. Now comes a wall you can't scale, so you'll have to platform hop across the neon signs. Goes without saying, don't stand on them while they're flashing. I wouldn't try to fight the Soldiers on them either. Just ignore them, head up, around and back to the right, to the top of the unscalable wall. Quickly knock the two Soldiers off the righthand side, follow them down. The copter can't reach down here, finish them up. By then it should go away. Scale the righthand wall, take advantage of the invincibility powerup here to dispatch three more Soldiers. Get the X powerup, fall down to your right, kill another Soldier to hopefully finish your counter (if not, more should respawn at the spot where the helicopter was). Scale to your right, off the screen to (thankfully) a password. Continue on when you're ready, and here's... GEIST Cowardly old Nazi has backup from a helicopter, and the usual steady stream of Soldiers that come with it. And no, you can't do anything about Bloodscream sitting in the window above you watching... Geist runs back and forth, stopping to blast you with his arm rifle and drop off bomb robots. Luckily, he can be bounced around by attacks, which is your best bet. Knock him into a corner, get him pinned, slash him to pieces as fast as you can, since there's no real way to avoid damage here. Alternately, the strategy vs the Soldiers seems to work, since he needs to hold still to use his weapons. Run back and forth with claw swipes, making him constantly turn around. Killing the Soldier may also buy you a reprieve from the onslaught, as unlike the rest of the level, the helicopter only seems to be able to drop off one at a time. As for the copter itself, it can only shoot from the right side, so try to stay on its left. Bloodscream hops down once Geist falls, and in a slight bit of comedy (at least for me), whatever Soldiers were left calmly run away. :P He then sucks Geist's blood, morphing into his monster form. What you want to do is book it for the top right wall. Scale it, go up as far as you can go, and Bloodscream can't touch you. That's right, you're invincible up here, as he tries to jump, but can't quite reach. Let your health restore, then jump down and take it to him (I've never seen Elsie appear here, though I suppose it's possible). Make sure you keep holding Up though, since you'll automatically disconnect from the wall if you don't. Once you're ready to fight him, just keep moving, since he'll eat you alive with his standing swipes. Smack him with running claws, and you should go right underneath his flying bites. If your health sinks, head back up the wall. Quite simple. ...except Cyber then appears and slices you with a handful of hallucinogenics. "Cyber: Let's see how you deal with a little hallucinogenic nightmare brought on by the poison I just slashed into you. Wolverine: AAAAAAAAGHHH! NOOO! NOOO!" Nightmare World Baddies: Mini-Cybers, Deathstrike Birds, Stars, Crystal Dragon, Cyber Welcome to the most annoying level in the game. The Mini-Cybers can only be hurt in the face, and they BADLY outreach you with their clubs. They also take forever to kill, leaving plenty of time for Elsie to show up and blow you to pieces. Add that to the randomly spawning vortexes that pull you in and generally get in your way at bad times, and this stage isn't very fun. Head right to start, dispatch the Cybers if you can, but don't take too long. A Deathstrike Bird is to your right, and they're usually easier to kill than Cybers. Do so. Super jump your way up, take advantage of an invincibility icon to pin a Cyber against a wall and maul him. Up, avoid or kill a Cyber, kill a Bird. Right, kill another Bird, get the invincibility, kill another Cyber. Left, fall down, kill more Cybers (they're much easier to get here, where you can uppercut them from below). Finish up your counter, head all the way right, super jump up, ignore the Birds and get the powerup. Go left, superjump to the left and up to the ledge. Into the warp. Straight above you is a Star. Super jump claw him before he can get moving. Right, past a vortex, kill another couple of Stars. Don't stand on the bones, or you'll get hurt. Up and to the left, past a rising spike, another Star to kill. Jump up, ignore the spinning devil heads, right, kill another Star as he swoops in to make your life miserable. Up the hill, ignoring more devil heads, right, a Star. Jump the chasm to the left, kill another Star to take yourself to 4. Back to the right, past a pair of rising spikes, watch out for a sudden gust of wind trying to throw you into them. Hop straight up the ledges, kill a Star. Fall back down, right up the hill, kill a Star at the pile of bones. Stand on the bones briefly to draw out the last two Stars, kill them both to zero your counter. Hop up, around to the right, down, past some vortexes, get the invincibility on the right. While it lasts, book it to the far left, fall down to the big row of bones, book it to the right, keep running right past all the various Stars, and out of this area to... CRYSTAL DRAGON Not terribly hard. Super jump to avoid his fireballs, land on his back. Keep throwing out standing R swipes. Seems like he can only be hurt in the tiny red jewel on his neck, but even that's sort of random...only real worry is you're probably worse for wear after going through the past two stages, you're probably short on time with Elsie, and if you lose due to either, you're going back through both stages again. Once you manage to land a hit, run like hell and avoid the fireballs. Just have to outlast him, and he'll crumble. Super jump your way up to the top, into the warp for a much deserved password checkpoint. Back into crystal hell. Go left to get off of the bones you start on, kill a Star. Left, jump up next to the vortex, kill a Star as he rises. Left, past the ring of devil heads. Stand a bit to the left on the bones so they can't get you, kill a Star. Left, same thing, kill a Star. Left, fall on to more steady ground, kill a Star. Right, down the hill, wait for the Star to come in, kill. Fall off the ledge to the right, you should land next to a rising spike. Kill a Star. Jump to the left, kill a Star right above you. Fall to the left, down, kill another one on the right next to the wall. Little to the left, another next to the vortex. Fall left, go right, stop at the water, kill Star as it moves in. Super jump over the water, one more Star to kill and your counter should be zero. Head to the right if you so wish for a 100 health powerup, then all the way left and up for the warp. Lovely, more Cybers. You also have to kill an obscene amount before Elsie finds you... First one you can pin to a wall fairly easily and kill. Super jump claw the one above to knock him down, pin and kill, get the X powerup. Up, super jump claw the Cyber above to death. Up, same to another one. Up, claw to death, get invincibility. Up, again, along with a Bird that gets close. Drop down and try to super jump claw the next Cyber from below. Drop, pin, quickly kill another Cyber to reduce your chances of death by explosive little girl. Two Birds float in. Kill both. Drop, hold right to land on the ledge, keep holding right to avoid being knocked off by a gust of wind. Stand on the right hand side of the ledge, use normal claw swipes to finish another Cyber and zero your counter. Now carefully jump to the right across the ledges (the nearest may scroll below the camera, but you'll know it's there by the vortex). Drop down to the right, get invincibility. While it's in effect start super jumping up and left as far as you can go, then head all the way right to the portal. Phew. CYBER No checkpoint for you, because this stage sucks. Anyway, Cyber's not so tough. You can forget about hurting him with any regular attacks. Only thing that puts a dent in him are those ridiculously large canisters with the skull and crossbones on them. Wait for Cyber to get near them, hit him while he's standing next to one. This damages him. As for his attacks, walking back and forth will keep you safe from his claws. The bull charge is very hard to dodge. Best bet is to be on the opposite side of the screen from it and duck. Thankfully, the rest of the attacks are easily dodgeable. His spiked wrecking ball form bounces off the walls in an easy to recognize pattern. After he's done with that, he falls in as an anvil to the location where you're standing. Avoid that, he's back to walking back and forth. It is possible to get lucky and pin him against one of the vats, countering each of his claw swipes with one of your own. "Wolverine: Let's see how you like a dose of your own medicine! Cyber: Aagh! No! Get it away from me! Get it away from me! Wolverine: Here I am, Shaw - let's see how tough you really are!" Hellfire Club: Baddies: Hellfire Club Mercs, Gunbots, Black Queen, Floating Bots, Fugue You start off with a couple of Hellfire goons and bots in your face. Run and claw swipe, taking your kill tally down to 4. To the right, another group. Kill the rest, sit a bit to regain your health, right. ...well that was a short level. BLACK QUEEN Selene shows off her pyrotechnics right off the bat, setting the ceiling on fire. You can't actually hurt her, so don't bother. Only goal here is to survive long enough for her to drain herself. Her life runs down the more stuff she throws at you, and she can only regain it by touching you. SO STAY AWAY FROM HER. Keep moving, as most of her attacks come from the front, so you can avoid them by jumping over her head and getting behind her. Then your only worry is the Barca Lounger of Death, which makes a nuisance of itself by tracking your location. Luckily, you can temporarily halt it with a well placed claw. As long as you can keep that damned thing on the ground, and you start out with decent health, she'll drop before you do. Start out the next section by clawing the hell out of the Hellfire Merc and the floating bot. Scale the elevator, and at the top, stand your ground and swat the Gunbots, ducking their fire. Grab the X. Fall to the bottom, kill the Mercs and Bots. Scale the righthand wall to the platform, taking advantage of the cramped quarters to slaughter another Merc and Bot, zeroing the counter. Now head left to the big blue bubble, jump into it and teleport to the next section. Fall to the bottom of the shaft and mop up the enemies. Scale the right wall a bit, go right, kill another Merc and Bot. Up the righthand brick wall, to a whole legion of enemies. Run through em and butcher with running claws. If you need a breather, fall back down to where you came from. When they're all through, rest to regain your strength, then head right. Get moving and clawing, as you begin here in very close quarters with a Bot and a Merc. Kill them both, make sure you didn't hit the switch during the fight (it closes the gate directly above you) and head up. Left, kill the Bot, either kill the Merc or just knock him off the ledge, since there's no counter to worry about in this stage. Hit the 2 in the right branching path above you. Climb up, hit the 1. Drop down the first pit in this tunnel, claw through the floor. Right, hit the 9, claw the door. Drop down, hit the 6, climb back up, hit the 5 to the right. Keep going right, drop down. Left, hit the 7 and 3. Right, hit the 8 and climb up. Left, hit the 11 to clear your path, head up and hit the 3. Back the way you came, hitting the 12 and 11 (these should leave the passages you can see to your left heading vertical, not horizontal). Drop down the passage next to the 11 switch, head all the way left, hit the 4. Continue to backtrack, to the 7 switch, hit it to clear your way up. Climb up. At the junction next to the 5 switch, climb up. The 4 should be open, the 3 should be open. All the way left, and if you did it right, all the vertical passages should be open as well, letting you fall clear to the bottom. Ignore the 6, jump up past the floor, and teleport out of this awful maze. Yeesh. Dig through the floor, drop down, pin the bot against the corner and kill him, hit the 10. All the way up and left, where you can zero your counter by running claw swiping everyone dead. If you need health, go up at the 10 passage, right and around, hitting the 10 switch to clear your way to an X powerup. When you're ready, head back to the 10 junction, go right this time, and you're at... SHINOBI ...well, no, Shinobi just sort of says "go get em!" to Fugue and phases through the floor. FUGUE She sucker punches you with a hallucinatory high note before the fight, so just like Cyber, you get to deal with a bunch of powers she wouldn't normally have. Yay. She's not so tough, though. Just run and flying kick her. When she morphs into a claw, you can either dodge it or knock her out of it. When she morphs into rats, stand your ground and claw swipe them as they jump, one by one. When she makes a clone, check to see which one is taking damage, then focus on that one and ignore the other. Hopefully you'll get her before she and her clone get around to making the sonic storm cloud, which is VERY annoying, but can be broken up by hitting either one. It'll take a while, since you can only get in one hit at a time on her generally, but avoid damage and you'll get her to around 6%. Then she pulls the rug out from under you. Under the Hellfire Club Baddies: Hand (Generic, Fireballer, Jetpack), Fugue Follow Fugue to the right. Super jump claw the Hand above you, but watch out for their new tornado move. Right, kill a Jetpack Hand. At the top of the hill here, Super jump up and claw the Sword Hand. Hop up to where he was. Up and right, where another Sword waits to die. Right, another Jetpack and a Fireballer who'll likely tornado himself right off the screen. Grab the X. Continue killing ninjas while making your way to the very bottom right (For some reason, it seems getting enemies near the collapsing bridge will instantly kill them, even if they don't fall into the fire). When your counter is empty, you can claw the righthand wall here to open a secret passage. Sit a while to let your health restore, and it's... FUGUE Same fight as before. If you get low on health, just wait for her to turn into rats, kill off any clones she may have flying around, then kill all the rats but one. From there you can just avoid the last rat, or climb either wall out of her jumping range until you're restored. Easy enough. Once she's dead, the rug gets pulled out from under you again. Further Under the Hellfire Club Baddies: Broodlings, Hand (Generic, Sword, Fireballer, Jetpack), Great Beast Down and right, kill your first Broodling by pinning him against a wall (if they latch onto you, duck to break it up). All the way down, dig through the discolored skull floor. Loads and loads of Hand here, dispatch them with running claws, but don't head too far left or you'll face a Broodling too, who is no fun to fight while being occupied by ninjas. After they're finished, all the way right, scaling the wall up to three Broodlings and an X powerup. After that, back down, all the way left, take the Broodling with standing claw swipes as he jumps in. Dig through the floor on the left, all the way down, kill a Tornado and a Jetpacker next to the flame pit. Claw the wall to your left, kill a Broodling. Claw the wall to your left, a bit down is another easy to kill Broodling. Carefully make your way down the platforms (there's a flame pit at the bottom you don't want to jump in). The Fireballer down here should helpfully march his way right into it. Claw the righthand wall. All the way to the right is another Broodling. Kill it, then backtrack to the left, up the platforms again. Slightly to your right is a skull floor to dig through. Kill the Broodling down here, get the X. Back up, right to the flame pit. Hop the pits to find a ninja to kill. Go back, scale the leftmost wall next to the flames to a slashable door, where you can kill two Broodlings and a Jetpack. Scale the left wall. There's a Sword up here to kill, and you can slash the wall for an X if you need it. Up and left takes you to two Fireballers and a Generic. Continuing left nets you two more ninjas and a Jetpack. Hop up the platforms, hop right, kill a pair of ninjas. Heading right, kill another. Further right gets you a Jetpacker, which should zero your counter. Head right, to your final confrontation. "Wolverine: So you're the brains behind this two-bit outfit? Great Beast: I am the Great Beast, leader of the Hand. You have fought well, defeating the best of my warriors, but now you must deal with me! Wolverine: Yeah, I heard that before, and from a lot better than you, bub! Let's see what you got!" GREAT BEAST Believe it or not, he's not quite as tough as those generic Hands before him. Run and claw swipe to begin, which avoids all of his attacks but the lightning barrage, which he telegraphs by charging his sword, and can be avoided by super jumping and latching on to the roof. Keep up the attack and he should never even get off the flame birds or the skeleton summoning. Now sit back and watch the godawful ending. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.0 - PASSWORDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- At Shiva - Iceman, Storm, Psylocke, Storm Beginning of Japan - Psylocke, Cyclops, Storm, Iceman After Trifusion - Xavier, Colossus, Psylocke, Psylocke Beginning of Tokyo - Bishop, Bishop, Colossus, Storm At Geist - Iceman, Cyclops, Psylocke, Colossus Beginning of Cyber's Nightmare - Colossus, Xavier, Psylocke, Iceman After Crystal Dragon - Xavier, Storm, Iceman, Psylocke Beginning of Hellfire Club - Nightcrawler, Colossus, Storm, Psylocke After Black Queen - Colossus, Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Storm After Fugue - Storm, Colossus, Bishop, Xavier Final Stage - Nightcrawler, Xavier, Cyclops, Colossus ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.0 - CREDITS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks to CJayC for the site, Marvel for my favorite character of all time, and whoever else I can't think of right now.
