Superman: System: Sega Genesis Developer/publisher: Sunsoft Released in: 1992 (this FAQ was written by Michael Purnell. If you want to use it for anything, like a website or something (I highly doubt it), just ask me. Introduction: Superman for the Sega Genesis is not a very well liked game. Why you might ask? Because the game is so unbelievably hard and tough that most people would turn it off after about five minutes and after they break their controller. It's understandable. You go through, in my opinion, one of the toughest games on the planet, and after a few excruciatingly tough levels, you get the "ending," which, if you were getting mad at the game before, will make you destroy your house. But to me, this is a fun game with cool box-art and cool graphics, but just too tough for it's own good. Since there's no FAQs posted (probably because no one beat it), I decided to give one, because I'm bored. So here it is, read it, and enjoy: Contents: 1. Controls/various powers 2. Items 3. Level 1 3A: Level 1, area 1 3B: Level 1 boss 4. Level 2 4A: Level 2 sub-boss 4B: Level 2, area 2 (train) 4C: Level 2 Boss 5. Controls: --------------- A button: Super Move (press when meter's full) B button: Regular Punch C button: Jump Star button: Pause Forward + Forward: Run Up + C button: High Jump. -------- Powers: -------- 1. Super punch (basic super power) 2. Heat vision (for flying) 3. Spin (to drill through grounds) ------------ 2. Items: ------------ Silver Superman logo: Restores your super power meter. Red and yellow Superman logo: Restores health. Blue Superman logo: Gives you a different ability. ----------------------- 3. Level 1: Rooftops ----------------------- In Level 1, you start off on some rooftops. Immediately when you start, there'll be a droid moving around. He's not really too much of a threat; each time he shifts to a different spot, he stops for a moment, and then fires a laser. You can easily take him out with a normal punch, and simply move right under him and jump. He'll instantly explode. Proceed right (obviously), and you'll encounter a running man who will charge at you.If you're not quick enough to hit him, he'll stop, hit you, and then run away. Just hit him, and again, proceed to the right, where you'll encounter another running man and another droid. After you've destroyed those, another, different, human-like droid will float around you. This guy's somewhat hard to hit, but again, if he hits you once, he'll just run away. Hit him, and proceed further right where you'll encounter THREE robot ball things that move around in a circular motion (you can easily avoid them by standing in one spot and not moving; they'll just leave on their own without trying to attack) In front of you is a force-field type thing. Two more running men will charge at you, but just simply punch them away. You can't move through the force-field without getting hurt, so just crouch and keep punching it until it explodes. Keep going right, where you'll encounter circular robot thing that floats around in the air. This guy takes about three or four hits to do the job. I suggest simply moving under him and jumping in the air. It's a good way to hurt him and avoid his laser attack. Jump onto the next building, where there's a silver Superman logo that completely restores your super power. Keep going right, and destroy another force-field. As you proceed further, you can either avoid or destroy the various enemies. There's some more running men, a few floating druids, and three more robot ball things. If you what the points, kill them, but if you want to get out quick and somewhat easy, just run. When you get to the bulky moving robot (the one that takes a few hits to destroy), look up, and there's another Super power power-up. Get it, and destroy the force-field that's in clear view. Proceed further, and pick up the health power-up (you'll probably need it). The pesky bulky droid will keep following you until you destroy it. So, destroy it, and all the other enemies that come in your way. Again, as you proceed further, more enemies will gang up on you. Do away with them, and pick up the super power power-up. Keep going further, destroy the enemies, and pick up another super power power-up. You know you're reaching the end of the area when you see another HEALTH POWER up on top of the brown building. Keep going right, and eventually, you'll get to a huge skyscraper. Superman will jump in the air, and bring you to area 2 out level 1....... --------------------- 3A: Level 1, area 2 --------------------- There's not much to this part of the level. This time, you get to fly (only UP, though. Really, you're basically floating). Your super punch has been replaced with heat vision, and, like the super punch, when the meter's full, it means that the heat blast will be most powerful. You can continuously shoot without having the meter fill up, or you can just simply punch. It's up to you. In this area, the main things you have to watch out for are the constant enemies, and the idiots throwing boulders out of the windows. You can easily avoid the boulders (or destroy them with punches), and you can shoot the enemies with your heat vision from a distance. The heat vision, even when charged up, won't kill the enemies with one shot. You'll have to shoot them about 2 or 3 times. The toughest part of this area is the bulky droid that comes floating around. You can either take option A, which is just shooting him with heat from a distance (which will take longer), or you can take the alternative, just punching it over and over. If you take the former, it'll take longer, and it might be hard because of the other droids. If you go with the latter, it'll drop him faster, thus making this hard level end slightly faster. Do that until you get to the top of the skyscraper. You'll know you got to it when you hear the music, and when you see the red pillar which you'll fight on. ----------------- 3B: Level 1 BOSS ----------------- Now, I'm not too sure who this guy is. His attacks are the following: Attack 1:When he pulls his hat off, A BUNCH of small fireballs will shoot out the top and slowly rain down on you. When they hit the ground, they explode. These attacks are hard to avoid, because he repeats it over and over. Attack 2: He blow some kind of green bubble out of his mouth and float up. The bubble will disappear, and he'll just fall back down. I have no idea what the point of this is. Attack 3: He'll enclose himself in a huge green bubble and float around a little bit. If he hits you, it does minor damage. The best way to hit him is when you're directly under him: Simply jump up, and you'll hit him. Those are his main attacks. The only way to really beat him is avoid all those as best you can, and keep punching him with small punches until your super-punch meter fills up. When it does, time it carefully, as the green guy moves around a lot. If you land a punch, it does a good deal of damage. After his life depletes completely, that's it, you've beaten him. One level down, four more to go!! It may not seem like much, but trust me, it is. When you win, your points are added up, and you're treated to a picture of Superman holding the guy in the green tux and smiling for the cameras. When you press start, it fades into a newspaper headline that reads "Superman Saves Kids!" ------------ 4. Level 2: ------------ In this level, you start in a weird building. Like the previous level, simply keep going right. First, you'll encounter a small walking robot. Simply crouch down, and give the little punk a punch. Then, keep going right, where you'll encounter more of the little demons. Be careful, these things lob small bombs at you. Keep going right, and you'll find a BLUE Superman icon, which gives you the SPIN ability. You'll also encounter weird robots that simply jump up in the air, and fall back down in the same spot. Just give them a punch, and you'll be on your way. When you get to the end of the room, there'll be something that says SPIN HERE, and obviously, you know what to do. Just press C, and spin right there into the next room. After Supes spins through the ground, he'll drop in the next area, where there's a pesky robot moving up and down, shooting lasers. Get rid of him, and punch through the metal door. Walk through the opening, and some oddly small children will run towards you. A robot will hop towards you, shooting, but just hold UP and press A. You'll jump extra higher, and you can grab the power up. There's nothing up in this small area, so drop back down, and proceed LEFT. Super jump again up top to another floor, where there's a RED Superman icon. Grab it, and it'll give you your super punch back. Go left, where you'll encounter another metal door. If you want to save your super power meter, just keep doing basic punches. If you want to get through it quick, hit it once with a super punch. Go through the opening, destroy the two enemies in your path, go left, and drop down to the floor below. Keep going right, and grab the icon. It'll give you spin again, and again, there's a message that says SPIN HERE. Do that. You'll fall to the area below... Here, just keeping falling down and avoid the enemies. For God's sake though, as you fall down, move away from the middle, because there's a small toxic waste pool that'll hurt you if you fall in. When you finally reach the ground, go right, where there's another pool of toxic waste. Super jump up onto the platform above, and kill the hopping robot. Keep jumping above, but go all the way to the RIGHT where there's a platform high up in the corner. Above that platform is an all red Superman icon, and it gives you the super punch back, AGAIN. Go left again, and super jump up onto the floor above, where some floating robots things are ready to pounce. Kill them all, and walk towards the purpilish door. This door may seem to be extra sturdy, but it ain't, bruh. Just give it a good super punch, and walk through into the next room. Here, there's an opening right in the middle of the floor. Drop through, and you'll land on a platform. Simply walk off the platforms onto the ground below, and AVOID the rockets that will be shot at you. They don't home in on you, so avoiding them is pretty easy. Now, keep going left, where you'll see another opening. Drop down onto the ground below. To your right is another metal door. Destroy it, and destroy the two robots in this small room. There's another metal door, so just destroy it as well. Keep going right. Some more kids will run away, and there's a silver icon. Grab it, and go left, where three robots await you. Once they get into view, they'll hop into the air and float around. Kill them quick, and keep going left. Now, as you go left, please stop, because there's a huge moving thing that shoots lasers at you. Just duck when the lasers are shot. I'd opt NOT to use a super punch against. Though it may seem like a good idea, it's not, because it'll slow Supes down, and the big thing will move towards you, hurting you. Jumping over it isn't an option, because it's smart. When you jump, it quickly backs away. So, just keep doing small punches and immediately RUN in the opposite direction after each punch so it doesn't hit you. Eventually, it's life will deplete, and it'll explode. When it does, a blue icon appears. Grab it, and you'll be given the SPIN ability. Move to the left, and you'll see the SPIN HERE message. Spin there, please. You'll drop down to the next area, and land on a platform. Unfortunately, all the other platforms are electrified, so you have to be quick when you jump from platform to platform. Going to the bottom is a waste of time, so just keep jumping to the right, where you'll see a red icon. Grab it, and you'll have your SUPER PUNCH back. Punch through the metal door, and walk into the next area. Right when you walk in, some missiles will charge at you. Jump out of the way before they hit you. Keep dropping down from platform to platform. Be careful, because a narrow beam of green light will shoot upwards. Avoid those, and avoid the missiles that'll be shot at you. If you want, when you get the ground, you can go all the way to the right and grab a red and yellow Superman icon. If you're in need of health, jump past the bubbles that should the green light, and grab it. If you do that, proceed left, and avoid the enemies. You'll get to a small opening and a platform that's guarded by a small robot that shoots lasers. Destroy him, and jump through the opening. There, you'll be in the next room, and in it, is the SUB BOSS!! ------------------------- 4A: Level 2 Boss/sub boss ------------------------- I have no idea who this thing is, but, he does appear to be a robot. His attacks are: Attack 1: He'll simply leap at you. Just move out of the way. Attack 2: He'll shoot a laser out of his fist. Jump over it, but don't be deceived, the laser moves BACK into his wrist, so you'll have to jump TWICE to avoid it. Attack 3: He'll simply shoot a few small green orbs into the air. Just avoid them. Attack 4: He'll put his hands together, and a green shield will be shot at you. Jump over it. When he only has about a quarter of his life left, he'll blast through the floor, and fly away. Of course, Superman follows him, and flies onto a train, which is basically Area 2 of Level 2. And you thought he was the last boss for Level 2. -------------------------- 4B: Level 2, area 2: Train -------------------------- On the train, there's about 7 carts that you have to go through. Cart one only small robots that can easily be taken out. CART 2 has a bunch. There's the one's that leap up into the air for no reason, and there's this weird spider thing that crawls on the ceiling. It drops little robot spiders onto the ground, which are pests. The spider will run away, and so will all the little spider robots. These little babies, to my knowledge, can't be destroyed, so the only way to avoid them is to jump over them. So, if you get hit by them like I did, just proceed to the next cart. In CART 3, some idiot outside of the train throws a bomb inside through the window. As you try to avoid the bomb, some robots will literally fly at you (about three robots). I honestly have no idea how to get past these three robots, because they completely block your path from top to bottom. The best way to ensure not getting hit is to quickly crouch and punch the robot on the bottom. Proceed right, where another damn robot spider is on the cieling. It drops some more little terrors, which can only be avoided by jumping over (make sure when you jump over them, DO NOT hit the big spider on the ceiling). Then, proceed to Cart 4... In Cart 4, there's two hopping robots, some flying ones that fly directly at you (like in the previous cart), the idiot with the bombs, and another spider. Make sure you use ONLY quick punches, because super punches will slow you down. Punch every robot that comes your way. The big spider is easy to avoid. Just run past it before it drops it's little babies. Now, run to Cart 5. In CART 5, there's some more robots that jump directly up into the air (the ones that look like squids). But, before you approach them, the baby spiders from the previous cart will run in your direction. Jump over them, punch the squid-like robots, avoid the flying robots, and avoid the bombs that are thrown into the cart. If you can do this without getting killed, proceed right into Cart 6. In CART 6, there's only a spider. Jump over the baby ones, and proceed to Cart 7. In CART 7, you're greeted with hopping robots. Destroy them. After you've done that, three more flying robots will fly at you. To tell you the truth, I never destroyed them, because they were too quick and it's almost impossible to avoid them. So, just get hit by one, and proceed RIGHT, where you'll go into Cart 8, the final cart, and where the robot boss guy is. ---------------- 4C: Level 2 BOSS ---------------- The metal guy's attacks are the same as before. Just do what you did before. Sadly, his health is refilled. This battle will be a bit harder because the space is so confined, making it harder to avoid attacks. Just keep punching him with everything you got until the punk goes down. Remember, always keep your distance, and if you're closed in, get a punch in there, and run away, even if he hits you. Eventually, he'll die, and you'll be greeted with the points screen, and a picture of Superman punching the robot boss. If you got through this, good job, because it's a pain in the ass. Superman once again "Frees people." ----------- 5. Level 3 ----------- This level is very similar to another level in another superhero game, Captain America and The Avengers, where you're basically flying forward across the screen, shooting enemies as they come. This level may sound easy, but again, like the rest of the game, it's far from it. Swarms of enemies fill the screen, and avoiding them is absolute hell. The special power you're given is heat vision, which you're already familiar with. This part of the level is actually pretty fun, but once you start losing, you're gonna get annoyed. There's not much to this part. Just keep as far to the left of the screen as possible, and don't rush forward. Stay in the middle, because enemies come from top and bottom frequently. Most of the enemies can be killed with one shot of heat vision. You're gonna see a shark protruding from the surface of the ocean. Watch out, because this is really a guy just wearing a shark fin. He'll eventually come up, and shoot a bunch of little fish in the air. The fish will rain down, so make sure when the come down, you avoid them. A robot will come from the water, and he'll move around for a bit shooting lasers. He moves quick, so keep following his move and shoot. While he shoots at you, more minor enemies will start appearing, but they can be taken care of as long as you keep tapping the A button. Eventually, this part will end, and you'll fly onto a boat. Back to the normal gameplay... -------------------------- 5A: Level 3, area 2: Boat -------------------------- Immediately when you start, there'll be 3 small robots walking towards you, and you're super punch will be returned. Crouch and punch the 3 robots, and proceed to the right. Another robot will wheel itself towards you and launch four bombs in your direction. Avoid the bombs, crouch, and punch. Right near that robot is a small door thing on the boat that reaches up to Superman's waist. Crouch down, and punch it. A silver icon will fall out. Grab it. Proceed right, and destroy the force-field. Keep going right, and quickly punch the robot that flying towards you. Jumping over it is risky, so punch it before it hits you. Proceed right. There'll be about six more robots: Two small ones that hop towards you, and four squid-like ones that just jump up into the air. Kill em' all!Go right, and destroy another force-field. Not far to the right of that force-field are two more doors. The first one has nothing, but the second one has a silver icon in it. Punch the door, and grab it. Proceed right, again, and destroy thattwo(?) missiles that fly towards you. You won't be able to proceed just yet. Two slow robots will start rolling towards you: One to your right, and one to your left. They both shoot green fireballs at you. If you hadn't used your super punch, use it on one of them, and then start punching the other. Make sure you stop after each punch, because they'll shoot you. After you've destroyed BOTH, you'll start flying again. --------------------------- 5B: Level 3, Area 3: Flying --------------------------- Here it is again, flying. You get heat vision back, and again, there's a shark guy. He'll jump up, but you can't kill him, so all you can do is avoid the fish that rain down. There'll be about four red rockets flying towards you. Shooting them will be a waste of time and health, so just fly in between the rockets, and you'll be fine. Another set of rockets will charge at you, this time three, but just move between them. Some more enemies will come (a pretty good amount), so just keep avoiding them and keep tapping A as fast as you can to avoid being hit. After you've gotten through a wave of enemies, the screen will not scroll anymore. Three robots will appear, and they shoot green fireballs at you. They move around the screen, and are hard to avoid. You have two options against them: 1, you can shoot them with your heat vision (it'll take longer, but you have a better chance of surviving), or 2, you can press B and punch them. I recommend the heat vision, because it allows you to keep your distance. The punching does more damage, but it's harder to land one because they move so quickly. After you've defeated them, Superman will fly into a cave-type thing. -------------------------- 5C: Level 3, Area 4: Caves -------------------------- You're in some caves now. Right when you start, you'll see a blue icon. Grab it, and you'll be equipped with the SPIN ability. Immediately after you grab it, a message will appear that says SPIN HERE. Do that to drop to the next area. Right when you fall to the ground, some robots will hop towards you. Crouch and punch the first few, but be careful, because the ones behind them will lob bombs at you. Proceed RIGHT after you've destroyed them. Jump up in the higher area, but immediately STOP when you get to the highest ground. You'll see that there are 3 sharp drill things on the ceiling above you. Before moving forward, position yourself just out from under the drill. Jump up and punch them. This way, they won't fall down, and they're not a threat at all. You'll see the SPIN HERE message to the right of you. Do that, and you'll fall to the next area. When you fall to the grounds below, immediately, a gigantic robot will start flying back and forth. He may seem like a big menace, but he's really not. When he flies towards you, simply give him a basic punch and he'll move in the opposite direction. He'll come back at you, but just punch him again. Repeat this process until he explodes. When he does, a red Superman icon will appear in his place. Grab it to get the SUPER PUNCH back. Proceed right, where you'll see two "steps" (They're not steps, but they look like them). Jump on the first one, and you'll see something coming out of the ground. It's a little rock man who runs back and forth. Jump up the higher ground, crouch, and punch him. Proceed right, where another one will come from the ground. Kill him, proceed right, and on the higher ground, another will show up. Punch him, and proceed right, again. Now, another will come up, but be careful when trying to hit him, because a robot will launch some bombs at you. Avoid the bombs, destroy the rock dude, and the robot. Above you is a silver Superman icon. Jump up and catch it. Proceed right until you encounter a massive boulder that blocks your path. This boulder can only be destroyed with super punches; basic punches have no effect. Destroy the boulder, and proceed right. Jump down to the lower grounds, where some squid robots will be. Hitting them will be tricky, because you have to jump down. But, either way, destroy them, and when you get to the lowest ground, go right. You'll see some narrow green flames shooting from the ground, and between them, on the ceiling, are the sharp drill things again. When the flames go back into the ground, jump up (a normal jump will do), and punch the drill things in mid-air. Repeat this process until you get past this part. Go right, and destroy the rock creatures. Keep going right. Some robots will slide towards you. Punch them both. Another huge robot will start flying back and forth (like before). Jump to a higher ground, and when he moves towards you, punch him with little punches at first. Then, remember to time this right, give him a super punch. He'll explode, and a silver icon will appear in his place. Grab it, jump up towards the right, and go through the opening you see, where you'll encounter the boss, who is one frustrating bastard. ---------------- 5D: Level 3 BOSS ---------------- This boss is an aerial fight, which is kind of cool, but just makes it all the more hard. You're given heat vision again. His attacks are: Attack 1: He'll simply fly up and down, shooting small green sonic booms at you. Attack 2: After you've hit him a little, he'll fly above you and start throwing bombs down. Avoid these, please. The best method to use against him is the heat vision. What you do is this: He'll fly up and down the area. It's not good to shoot heat at him when he's moving up because for some reason, it's just harder. So, when he flies downward, just hold down, follow him, and keep shooting. When he moves to a different spot, simply avoid his attacks. Keep your distance too. I wouldn't recommend using PUNCH either, because it's too risky, given how fast this bastard is. Eventually, you'll destroy him, and then, you're off to level 4!! After you beat him, you'll see a picture of Superman holding his fist in the air, looking at a rocket or something, with the caption "Lois Lane Missing Again!" Then, you're treated to a newspaper articale that says "Superman Chases Rocket!" When you press start, the screen will turn to black with the text "Superman in Space." ----------------- 6. Level 4: Space ----------------- You start this level off flying, like before, and with heat vision. There's really no particularly hard enemies in this small part, nothing worth mentioning at least. But, after the first wave of enemies, the screen will stop scrolling (right when you see asteroids; they can't hurt you by the way). When the screen stops, four pesky ass robots will circle around you, shooting you with green rays or something like that. It's hard to hit them, because you can only shoot in one direction, and while you're following one, trying to shoot it, another one will shoot you from behind. So, take your time with this, and shoot whatever you can hit. Just avoid the energy balls. After you've defeated them, the screen will start scrolling, and you'll start flying again. Immediately when you start fighting the first waves of enemies, there's some greenish boxes floating around. Take cover, because they open up and shoot metal rods in all directions. You don't have to destroy them, just avoid them. Then, when they pass, another wave of easy enemies will come at you. Some asteroid will also be floating in the air. Avoid these, because they do hurt you. Or, just tap A extremely fast and shoot them to bits. Either way, move around so they don't hit you, and so the enemies don't either. Some asteroids break into three pieces when they're shot, so be sure to move in between them, because they move towards you. Eventually, you'll get to the boss. -------------------- 6A: Level 4 Boss -------------------- This boss is this big hulking thing that has four rocket launches on it, and one giant eye in the middle of it. Avoid or shoot the rockets, keep on shooting the launches on it's body, and keep on shooting the eye. It's best to shoot the launches to prevent him from firing at you. Boxes will continually drop down and shoot metal things from all it's side. The missiles that this thing fires at you are extremely hard to destroy, because you have to make sure you're in right position, and it takes a few hits of heat vision to destroythem. So, just avoid them. The big thing will also fire metal balls at you. I honestly don't know how Sunsoft thought that someone could feasibly get through this part of the game, because it's so ridiculous hard it's borderline impossible to beat. The entire screen is basically riddled with rockets and metal balls. It takes some serious finesse to avoid them all and manage to shoot the big thing. This thing takes an ass ton of damage. If you're lucky enough to destroy it, good for you. You're off to the next (and last) level of the game. Sadly, you're not treated to a picture. ---------- 7. Level 5 ---------- Here you are. The last level of the game, bruh. Instead of walking/running, you're flying. You're in this obstacle type thing, but it isn't hard. Just follow the path, and destroy the enemies you encounter (trying to avoid them is risky, because they fire projectiles). The enemies include: Two small things that are on the top and bottom of the walls. Between them is a narrow, electric wall thing that moves towards you. You can't hurt the wall, so just hurt one of them. When you destroy one, you destroy both. There's also a weird thing that's half of a circle, and it shoots at you. Just shoot back at them. Eventually, you'll make it to a screen where the main villain, some green dude, will appear and laugh. You'll be transported to the next area. ------------------- 7A: Level 5, Area 2 ------------------- Again, you're flying. Immediately when you start, there'll be those things that have the electric wall. They'll move towards you, so shoot them with heat vision. Some circular things will come out of the ceiling and ground, but they can easily be outrun, so don't worry about them. Since there's no very many enemies here, just fly through the route (there's no multiple routes, so it's pretty easy to navigate). Then, you know you've reached the end of the area when you encounter another screen, with the same villain, laughing at you. You are warped into the next area, which has multiple routes, so to speak. ------------------- 7B: Level 5, Area 3 ------------------- In this area, what you have to do is find some green monster enemies in different parts of the area, and destroy them. When you do that, the villain will appear on a screen in the background, and laugh again. These green monsters aren't particularly hard. Just avoid, and shoot with heat vision. The best method is to tap A like a madman. This way, their life depletes quickly. It's realtively easy to find your way through here, but just to make things slightly easier, here's a breakdown of where everything is: You start in the middle of this small maze-like spot. To the right and left of where you start are health powerups. If you need them, grab one. If you go UP from where you start, there's two routes: The left and the right. Both of them have the green bosses at each end. After you've defeated one, get a power up if necessary. Then defeat the other. Now, if you go DOWN from where you started, there's tow routes: Left and right. Both routes have the green bosses. When you've defeated all four bosses, go back to where you started, and you'll be warped to the next area. This part is tough, because there's enemies EVERYWHERE, and you only have two health powerups to sustain you, so be careful, bruh. ------------------- 7C: Level 5, Area 4 ------------------- You start off, again, kind of just "floating" in the air. Little missiles will be fired at you, and they're hard to hit because they're so small and quick. But, just shoot them or avoid them. The screen will keep scrolling until you get to the end. Luckily, this part isn't very hard or long. When you hear the music, that's it, you're at the last boss. ---------------------------- 7D: Level 5 Sub-boss ---------------------------- For the sub-boss, you fight the green guy that's on the back of the game case. Instead of facing you like a man, he hides in his pansy pod thing. His attacks are: Attack 1: He simply shoots narrow green rays at you. Easy to avoid. Attack 2: He charges at you with his pod thing. Those are all of his attacks. The dude really isn't that hard, surprisingly. Just keep moving around, and keep tapping A or C like a madman. Once you've defeated him, you'll feel relieved. But you thinks it's over? Hell no, it's not over! ------------------- 7E: Level 5, Area 6 ------------------- After he explodes, you start floating around again. Some minor enemies will fly at you, but do away with them. The green guy floats directly in front of you behind a protective force-field bubble. Proceed right (the direction that the screen is scrolling), and watch out for the crushers on the wall and on the ceiling. They can hurt you, as you might have guessed. Shooting this punk will do no good. Just keep following him. Eventually, a good amount of enemies will sow up. Shoot them all, and don't worry about the green dude. Just keep going right, avoiding the narrow crushers and the enemies. You know you're getting to the end when you fight to green monsters. They're not hard, just keep hittin' em' with heat vision until the crumble like puny pieces of salad. Finally, when you see that you're entering a purple room, you know you're fighting the boss. ---------------- 7F: Level 5 Boss ---------------- Here he is, the last boss of the game. Now, he doesn't have the pod thing, he fights you himself. Seriously, though, he's not that hard. He doesn't have very many attacks. His attacks are: Attack 1: He'll make FOUR clones of himself and all of them will move in a circular motion. Eventually, they'll all stop, but you have to figure out which is which. But, there's an easy way to do this: After they've all stopped moving, PAUSE the game, and the three fake ones will disappear. Unpause, and blast the punk with heat vision. If you pause and you can still see all four, unpause, then pause again. It should work fine. Also, another way to tell which is which, the real one WILL NOT shoot at you. Stay in the middle of the screen when he moves in the circular motion, too. Attack 2: Six green energy balls will launch out of his body. They're easy to avoid, but they do follow you (they're slow, though). Attack 3: Preferred method: Don't bother shooting him when he has his force-field, it does no good. When he clones himself, just do the method mentioned above. Just keep avoiding his attacks, and keep shooting him with heat vision (or you can be a damn showoff and use punches). If you beat him, congratulations. There you have it. You've beaten one of the hardest games in existence. For all your hard work and effort, you'll be treated with literally the worst ending in videogame history (considering how much crap you have to go through just to beat the game). Hopefully, this FAQ was helpful, for the (most likely) two people who've read it. ------------------- 8. Legal Stuff ------------------- Superman is owned by DC Comics. Every character in this game is owned by DC Comics, and so is Superman. This game was developed/published by Sunsoft. This FAQ was written by Michael Purnell and finished Friday, November 18th, 2005. If you want to use it for something (I doubt it), just ask me. The only connection I have with the game is the fact that I played through it, nothing more. This FAQ cannot be copied, or altered, unless I say so. I'm not making any kind of profit from this, either, just so you know.
