------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------[ VIDEOCART 3: VIDEO BLACKJACK]--------------------- ---------------------------------[by Ice Queen Zero]--------------------------- ------------------------------------[Channel F]-------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- o---------------------o INTRODUCTION o---------------------o I've already done a couple of FAQs for Blackjack on two different systems. Now I'll be doing another FAQ for the Channel F since I do have personal plans to FAQ every game for the Channel F. Unlike the previous two videocarts, Video Blackjack is only a single game cartridge. If you are playing this using the MESS emulator and you don't know the actual controls of the system, I will tell you the buttons to press on the emulator. As you can see, I've contributed a lot of screenshots to the system itself with the MESS. I'm playing this on the actual console itself. o---------------------o DISCLAIMER o---------------------o Videocart 3: Blackjack and its characters are trademarks of Fairchild and all copyrights belong to them. This FAQ is the sole copyright of Andrea "Azul Fria" Castillo aka Ice Queen Zero and cannot be put on other sites or posted without my given permission nor can it be reproduced without proper consent. For my other guides: http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/recognition/74803.html o---------------------o OVERVIEW o---------------------o It is you (and another player if chosen) against the dealer to try to get a better hand than the dealer without going over 21. Up to two players compete against the dealer and not each other. It's not that tough of a game to master but it has been watered down from the way it is supposed to be played. o---------------------o CONTROLS o---------------------o Console and Controller 1 - Video Blackjack At the start of the game: 3: settings M1: Left Player vs Dealer M2: Both Players vs Dealer M3: Right Player vs Dealer Plunge Down = Hit/Next Hand Pull Up = Stand/Bet/Cut Cards Twist Left = Increase bet (tens) Twist Right = Increase bet (ones) MESS EMULATOR 1 - Video Blackjack At the start of the game: Button 6 (3): settings M1: Left Player vs Dealer M2: Both Players vs Dealer M3: Right Player vs Dealer Button 1 (Plunge Down) = Hit/Next Hand Button 2 (Pull Up) = Stand/Bet/Cut Cards\Deal Cards Button 4 (Twist Left) = Increase bet (tens) Button 3 (Twist Right) = Increase bet (ones) o---------------------o GAMEPLAY o---------------------o Choose which of the game settings that you want to use as listed above. Then Pull Up to cut the cards. Now Plunge Down to get ready to make the bets. Twist Right to increase the bet by 1 and Twist Left to raise the bet by 10. Plunge Down to deal out the cards. You are then given two cards face up. After all players are dealt their cards, the dealer will deal out its own cards one up and one down. Plunge Down to take a hit if you are feeling lucky or Pull Up to Stand and stay with the cards you currently have. You can also Double Down to take only one hit. You have a chance the double your winnings or loses depending on whether you won or lost. There is no Splitting in this game. The player will win the hand automatically if they get 21 on the first two cards. A bonus card will appear but I'm not sure what the bonus is as I didn't have the manual during the making of this FAQ. If the dealer gets a Blackjack, whoever doesn't have Blackjack themselves will automatically lose otherwise it's a tie. Take note that: - Players will start gameplay with 500 points. The maximum they can bet is 99 points (or 198 if they decide to double down). - All Face Cards (King, Queen, Jack) are worth 10. - Aces are worth 1 or 11. - Other cards are worth their face value. - Dealer must hit on 16 or below. - Dealer must stay on 17 or higher. - There is no insurance. If the dealer's face up card is an Ace, play is as-is. - There is also no splitting. Duplicate cards in the hand leave play as-is. - It is possible to double-down. Doing so will deal the player just one extra card. - Whoever goes over 21 first will bust and lose. - The game is over when all chips (points) are gone. But you apparently, you can get a 100 point loan from the CPU. o---------------------o CREDITS o---------------------o Fairchild for making the game.
