Introduction -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= BS Zelda: Inishie no Sekiban is the second Zelda game available for play on the Super Famicom's Bandai Satellaview unit online. Like the first BS Zelda game, this one is also timed, and it takes place in the world of A Link to the Past. The game is split into four weeks, with each week providing different challenges and goals. Aside from the obvious time constraint, there are a lot of new and interesting things to do in this game. It is finally available in a playable state, since the original was broken up and broadcast live with voice actors, so go check it out! ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 3. Controls -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Start: Start game, bring up inventory menu during game Control Pad: Move character X: View map Y: Use current item A: Talk, read signs, open chests, dash (with Pegasus Boots, hold A) B: Attack with sword R: View inventory information, view the current week's goals (while on inventory screen) ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 4. Overview -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =============== About This Game =============== BS Zelda: Inishie no Sekiban was the second BS Zelda game, both of which were originally playable on the Bandai Satellaview (BS-X) system. This game was based on the world of A Link to the Past, but with a number of differences which you will discover as you play. You also don't play as Link, but as a male or female "Hero of Light" (the BS-X characters). Being that the game contained live voice acting, the game could only be played at specific times and days, for one hour at a time. The original schedule is as follows: Week # Start Date End Date ------ ---------- -------- Week 1 MAR 30 1997 APR 5 1997 Week 2 APR 6 1997 APR 12 1997 Week 3 APR 13 1997 APR 19 1997 Week 4 APR 20 1997 APR 26 1997 The game was broadcast for only one hour each day, presumably at around 18:00 Japan time. You can only complete that week's objectives and explore a restricted portion of the overworld in that week; you can not skip ahead if you finish the current week early. This game was only rebroadcast once, but up until recently it had faded into an unplayable obscurity. Since the BS-X is no longer available, the only way to play this game is through other means (don't ask). All four weeks are now playable in sequence, one at a time, with save data carrying over from one week to the next if you know what you're doing. The main draw of this game was the voice acting which was performed live as you played the game on the network. This is why the game was not available to be played outside of that one-hour window. Those voices were not recorded or saved, so they are not available. Otherwise, the game is fully intact today. A neat addition to this game is a "Today's Goals" section, accessible by pressing R when on the inventory menu. It basically scrolls over a screen of what your inventory should look like at the end of the current week, thus your goal. It's useful in determining what you might be missing before the week ends and you miss out. ========= The Timer ========= On the gameplay screen, you will see a large timer (18:xx). The week begins at 18:06, and ends at 18:56 (cutscenes before/after those times). If you don't complete that week's objectives (clearing both dungeons), then you are out of luck there. During the course of the 50 playable minutes each week, special events may occur at certain times (see the Timed Events section later in the guide). ====== Points ====== Since this was a game played live on a network, you were presumably playing against other people around Japan. Depending on how much you achieved in your game, you will have a higher/lower score. You can find your score at the bottom of the screen when you open the inventory window (press Start during the game). Here is some information on how to gain points in the game: Event Points ----- ------ Open treasure chest 500 Get a Key 1000 Get a Piece of Heart 1000 Get the dungeon item 1000 Get Heart Container 5000 Get a special item 5000 Talk to the Mole 10000 (once each week) Rescue Zelda 10000 (Week #1 only) Rescue Dwarf 10000 (Week #2 only) Rescue Priest 10000 (Week #3 only) Get the Master Sword 5000 (Week #4 only) Get a Stone Tablet 40000 (-500 for each minute of gameplay prior) Defeat Ganon 30000 At the end of each week, you will see a results screen which keeps a tally of the points you've earned each week to date. It also shows how many rupees you have, and how many times you died, but you don't gain/lose points for that. For the Stone Tablets, the base value is set at 40000, but you lose 500 points for every minute it takes you to receive the tablet (including the six-minute cutscene at the start). Also, the difference between dungeon items and special items are purely in how you obtain them. Dungeon items are in the big chests, and special items are found in regular chests (like the Sword in Week #1). ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 5. Walkthrough -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ============= Week #1 Begin ============= You start the first week of the game in bed, in a room near the Eastern Palace. You will awaken and the wise man Sahasrahla will talk to you. He will also give you the Big Bag, which contains the following: Bug-Catching Net, Ocarina, Lantern, and a Bottle (the Bottle has a Golden Bee inside). When you are set, Sahasrahla will send you off to the Eastern Palace, so exit the building. ========= Overworld ========= Out here, since you don't have a Sword yet, your best means of attacking is by releasing the Golden Bee from its Bottle. It will attack any nearby enemies for you; just make sure you recapture it with the Bug-Catching Net before entering a building! Anyway, head up the steps to the north, and head east and south. Go southeast and jump down to the lower area, then go north. You will spot your first enemy: an Armos Statue. Get past it and go up the steps, defeat the Octorok, and head northeast into the Eastern Palace, also known as Dungeon #1. ========== Dungeon #1 ========== In here, release the Golden Bee (it makes clearing enemy-filled rooms go much quicker, which is essential for a timed game). Head northwest and lift the pots, then enter that room. Defeat the enemies here and lift the northwest pot to find a Key. Under the southeast pot is a switch to open the door, or you can use the Ocarina to quickly warp back to the entrance. Back in the first area, enter the northeast room this time. Defeat the four enemies here and unlock the door to reach the next room. There, open the chest to receive the LV1 Sword (your default attack by pressing B)! Now that you have a real weapon, you can put the Golden Bee away. Strike the crystal switch to lower the blocks, and enter the eastern room. In there, lift up the northwest pot to get a Key. Open the chest to find 10 Bombs, then enter the room to the east. Open the chest to receive the Map, then bomb the northern wall to reveal a hidden room. Enter it and open the chests to find 40 rupees, then exit the room. Go west to the next room, and bomb the northern wall in there as well. Go into that hidden room and collect a total of 60 rupees. Now, go south and west to the crystal switch room again. This time, bomb the west wall and continue onward. In this room, open the chest to find the Small Shield. Then, unlock the door ahead with your Key and enter that room. Defeat the enemies here and open the chest to receive the Compass. Bomb the western wall and enter that room to find 40 rupees in two chests. Return to the previous room and head north. Defeat the Pink Stalfos (throwing a pot at it is the easiest way), but before you proceed, bomb the western wall again and enter that room to find 40 rupees! Go east two rooms from here and you will be in a larger room. There isn't really anything for you to do in here, so go down the stairs to floor B1. Down there, go west and defeat two enemies, then bomb the west wall and enter that room. Open the chests to find 40 rupees, then exit the room and go all the way eastward (if you need Bombs, they are hidden under the pots here). Enter the eastern room and defeat the enemies to open the door ahead. In the next room, lift up the nearby pots to uncover a Key. Take it and climb down to the lower area, and enter the southern room. In here, go west and climb up the ladder to the higher ledge. Lift up the pot to reveal a floor switch; step on it to make a chest appear. Open it to receive the Big Key. Continue into the next room. Defeat the enemies and climb down the middle ladder to the area below. Open the big chest now that you have the Big Key, and you will get the Bow! Now, climb back up and head west to a locked door. Unlock it and go into the next area. Defeat the Pink Stalfos in this next room if you want, otherwise continue into the room ahead. There, defeat the green cyclops enemy (it is only vulnerable when its eye is open, so move in close to trigger it). Throwing a pot or using the Bow and Arrows will be the quickest approach. Take the Key it leaves behind, and enter the northern room. You will meet two more of these enemies in the next room, so dispatch them in the same manner. Then, unlock the boss door behind them and enter that room. In this room, you will be faced with green and red cyclops enemies. The red one can only be killed with arrows (two of them). Defeat these enemies, then bomb the eastern wall and enter it to find two chests containing 40 rupees. After that, go back to the previous room and continue onward to the north. Defeat the two simpler enemies here, then lift the pots on the west side to find a Key. Clear the eastern pots and open the chest to find Pegasus Boots, which enable you to run/dash! If you want, you can enter the room to the east. There will be a thief in there, who you can pay 50 rupees to carry 10 extra arrows. Do so if you wish, otherwise unlock the northern door and enter the boss room. You will face six Armos Knights in here; read the Bosses section if you need help defeating them. When they are defeated, collect the Heart Container and the first Stone Tablet! You will then leave the palace. ========= Overworld ========= Back outside, make your way back to Sahasrahla's building and go inside. You can bomb the northern wall in there, and enter a hidden room with four chests. They contain 60 rupees and a Piece of Heart. Now, talk to Sahasrahla and the strange wizard if you want, then exit the building. If you head up the steps, then dash southward from the house, you can drop down to a lower area to the east. Bomb the cracked wall and open four chests to get 80 rupees, and talk to the thief to receive an additional 300 rupees. Continue south from here to the grassy area, then go east to find a Piece of Heart surrounded by pits. Dash into the northern wall to cross the pits and collect it. Then, drop into the pits to reach a mini-game room (it will be available later), and exit to the south. From here, you can continue to the southeast area. There will be a cracked wall you can bomb open (contains 80 rupees). There is also an open cave containing fairies, 80 rupees (bomb the northern wall), and a Golden Bee (if you don't have one, dash into the right fairy statue). There is also a small shop here if you want a Red Potion or Arrows. Otherwise, head all the way west to the arches and go south to exit the eastern region of the map. Out here, enter the nearby cave and bomb the east wall to reach a chest containing 100 rupees. Exit the cave and bomb the wall next to it, and you can enter to find another 20 rupees. Continue westward and you will see a bridge leading southward, but you can't cross it for now. Dash into the pile of rocks to uncover a hidden room containing a Piece of Heart. Head north to the next screen and follow the eastern wall to find a cracked section. Bomb it and enter the room to find another Piece of Heart. Now, continue heading all the way north and east across the map, and you will reach the Witch's Hut, which acts as a potion shop inside. Buy a potion if you want, otherwise continue to the east. Dash through the rock pile to proceed, and follow the path to reach a building further ahead. This is the Rental Shop, where you can pay to rent the LV2 Sword or a Shovel for 10 minutes. If you rent the Shovel, a mark will appear in one of four locations on your map; go to that location and dig to uncover a Piece of Heart! Behind the Rental Shop is a cracked wall, but you need another item to progress in that cave, so we will return later. Continue to the northeast and follow the path to the watery area. Dash into the rock pile you find and enter the cave below. Collect a fairy if needed, then bomb the northern wall and talk to the thief there to receive 300 rupees. You can't jump into deep water yet, so follow the path to the northeast area. Head to the east along the shallows, defeating the Zoras along the way. At the end of the path in the northeast, talk to King Zora and pay 300 rupees to buy the Flippers (NOTE: If the timer is at 18:25, the price will be 150 rupees instead!). Now you can swim in the deep water! Now, go back to the previous area and jump into the water to the west. Swim behind the waterfall and you will enter the second dungeon. ========== Dungeon #2 ========== Starting off here, go forward and push one block forward and the other to the side. Go up the hallway to reach two unlit lanterns. Use your Lantern to light them, opening the doors here. First, enter the northeast room. There, climb down to the lower area and enter the room to the north. Open the chest to receive the Compass. Exit this room, then go east two rooms. Lift the pots to find a Key, then defeat the enemies to open the door. Return to the first room with the two unlit lanterns. This time, go west and unlock the door, and enter that room. Defeat the Stalfos in here, and open the chest to receive the Map. Then, continue northward. Ignore the enemies, and head all the way eastward into the next room. In there, defeat the enemies to open the doors. Before you proceed, bomb the eastern wall and go into that room. Push the northeast block to make a chest appear containing 100 rupees. Then, exit the room and head southward for two rooms. In the room with the ladder leading downward, bomb the east wall if you want to find 40 rupees. Otherwise, climb down to the lower area. Go across and climb up at the other side, then lift the southeast pot to find the floor switch. Step on it and enter the eastern room. Open the chest in there to get the Big Key, then lift the pot next to it and hit the floor switch to exit the room. Now, climb down the first ladder and enter the room to the west. Open the big chest to receive the Boomerang! Continue westward into the next room from here. In here, enter the western room to get 20 rupees if you like. Go north past the statue heads shooting projectiles at you, and climb the ladder. Bomb the western wall and enter that room to get another 20 rupees. Then, unlock the boss door and enter the next area. In here, lift the pots in your way and you will see a Key across to the right. Use the Boomerang to retrieve it, and unlock the door leading into the next room. There, bomb the southern wall and go into that room to find a thief willing to let you carry 10 more Bombs, for 50 rupees. If you want to, pay him, then exit the room and head upstairs to 2F. You will arrive in a darkened room, with only your Lantern providing light. Defeat the bats you see, and bomb the eastern wall to reach a chest in the next room containing 20 rupees. Then, go back to the previous room and head south. In the next room, avoid the Anti-Fairy enemy (it hurts you and docks your magic meter). Run around the room, lifting the pots in the corners and moving ahead of the enemy, and hit the floor switch on the west side. Get to the east side and enter the room, then simply continue through to the north room. Defeat the two Stalfos (the regular one has the Key), then go into the next room. Before you go on to the boss room, you can bomb the southern wall and enter that room. Collect 70 rupees and enter the west room to find a chest containing 20 rupees. Go back to the previous room and bomb the southern wall, then follow the passage into another room at the end. Lift the pots to find 20 rupees, and pull the statue's tongue to reveal a chest with 100 rupees! When you are ready to proceed, go back a few rooms and unlock the northern door to enter the boss room. You will face the classic Moldorm boss; read the Bosses section if you need help here. When it's over, collect the Heart Container and your second Stone Tablet! You will then emerge back outside. ========= Overworld ========= Back outside, if the timer is at 18:34, you will find a Piece of Heart in front of you. You can now go back to that hidden cave behind the Rental Shop and use the Boomerang to reach another Piece of Heart. If you haven't yet, rent a Shovel and dig up yet another heart piece at the spot marked on your map, too. Finally, head to the Witch's Hut and go west to the next screen. Head north and jump into the water, and swim behind the waterfall to find a hidden room. Collect the fairies if you want, then bomb the north cracked wall to find the Piece of Heart. At this point, you have pretty much completed all of the week's objectives, so whatever time you have left until 18:56 is free time! Check out the Timed Events section if you are interested in extra rupees and points (though points are meaningless if you are playing this game now). Otherwise, wait until 18:56 and the first week will end. ============= Week #2 Begin ============= The second week will begin in Kakariko Village, in the large house to the north. Talk to Sahasrahla and you will receive the Big Bag, which contains all of the items you had previously. You will also have the same amount of rupees, bombs/arrows, and heart containers as you did at the end of Week 1. When you are ready, exit the house. ========= Overworld ========= Outside in the village, there are plenty of places to check out for extra goodies. In the small grass-roofed house next door, there are four chests in the basement with 80 rupees. Bomb the north wall down there to find a hidden room with extra items. Go back outside and head west to see a hole in the ground. Jump into it from the ledge above, and open the chest in the second room to find a Piece of Heart. Exit the cave and head to the center of town, where you will find the running man and a woman sweeping outside of her house. Enter that house and bomb the eastern cracked wall to enter a hidden room, where a chest containing 100 rupees is hiding. Next, go east to the house next door, and enter the southern building via the back entrance. Open the chest there to find another Piece of Heart. Now, head to the southwest area of the village, where you will find a building with no doors. Bomb the southern wall and enter the house to find pots, as well as chests containing 20 rupees and yet another Piece of Heart. There is nothing else to do in the village, so head to the northeast and follow the only available path out of here. In the next screen, you can dash into a nearby rock pile and enter a cave full of fairies. If you bomb the northern wall, you can find two chests with 100 rupees inside. Go outside and make your way to the northeast area. Clear another rock pile and go down the steps to enter the third dungeon. ========== Dungeon #3 ========== Starting off here, ignore the crystal switch and go into the eastern room. Open the chests to find 20 rupees and the Map. If you bomb the eastern wall, you can enter a hidden room and open two more chests for 40 rupees. Head back to the starting room, and hit the crystal switch to lower the blue blocks. Then, enter the northwest room. Dash into the left torch to knock down a Key, and use it to unlock the door leading forward. Dash your way northward along the conveyor belts, dashing through the enemies along the way, and enter the northeast room. Use the Boomerang to grab the Key across the room, then hit the crystal switch to lower the orange blocks, and unlock the southern room. In there, clear the pots and open the chest to get the Compass. Go into the east room next, and hit the crystal switch with the Boomerang to lower the blue blocks again. Lift the northeast pot to find a Key, then unlock and enter the room to the north. In this next room, defeat the two Helmasaur enemies (attack from the side), then light the two torches with your Lantern. Open the chest that appears to get the Big Key, but before you proceed, bomb the west wall. Go through the opening to that room, and open the chest to receive the Blue Clothes. You will now take less damage than before! Now, go back a room and head down the steps to B1. When you arrive, kill the two Stalfos if you want, otherwise go west. In the large room, go west and south to find the big chest. Open it to receive the Magic Hammer. With your new item, return to the dungeon's entrance (use the Ocarina). This time around, enter the western room. Use the Magic Hammer to crush the peg heads in your way, and collect a total of 210 rupees! Go back to the first room, then hit the crystal switch to lower the blue blocks in the way. Go north twice to reach the conveyor belt room again. Get to the northwest area and use the Magic Hammer to enter the western room. Defeat the Stalfos here if you want, then bomb the west wall to enter the first hidden room. Open two chests for 100 rupees, then bomb the south wall and collect another 100 rupees in there. Bomb the eastern wall to reach a third room, where you can pay a thief 100 rupees to carry an additional 10 Bombs. Do so if you want, then go back a couple of rooms and head downstairs to B1 again. Down here, defeat the shelled enemies using the Magic Hammer, and lift the western pots to find a Key. If you bomb the west wall, you can enter a room and collect 100 rupees from two chests (avoid the laser statue). Then, go east to a new room. Clear the pegs to the south and there will be a couple of optional places to visit. If you bomb the southwest wall, you can find a room with 100 rupees. If you bomb the southeast wall, there is a room with 300 rupees. Also, if you drop off the southern ledges into the large vases, you will fall into a room with fairies if you need them (the teleporter returns you to the same room, no worries). When you are ready to proceed, unlock the northwest door and head down to B2. Go down the hall into the next room, where you will find pots containing Bombs if needed. If you are ready for the boss, go into the northeast room. You will meet the Helmasaur King; read the Bosses section if you need help here. After you win, collect the Heart Container and the third Stone Tablet! You will then be returned outside, as usual. ========= Overworld ========= Back outside, make your way back west to Kakariko Village. This time, head to the far northwest area and go northward into the Lost Woods. Shortly after entering the woods, you will find a Mushroom, so grab it! There are two paths you can take, both blocked by pegs. For now, only take the northern path. Go north and west to find a lost dwarf standing in the corner. Talk to him and agree to take him back to his partner. Head back to the village and go all the way southeast. Take the eastern path to the next screen, and head up the steps to enter the Blacksmith's shop. The dwarves will be reunited again! Talk to them and let them temper your sword, and you will receive the LV2 Sword as thanks! Go back outside and use the Ocarina to warp to the Magic Shop. Give the Mushroom to the witch outside and she will give you a bag of Magic Powder. Now, return to the Blacksmith's house and smash the peg outside, then fall into the well. Enter the northern room when you land and sprinkle some Magic Powder into the red pot. The Mad Batter will emerge and halves your magic meter, which effectively gives you twice as much magic! Exit the cave and return to the village once again, then head southward. Enter the Library to the west and dash into the bookcase to get a Piece of Heart. Go outside and head southeast to find the Rental Shop. Behind it, bomb the cracked wall and enter a cave. Open the chests to get 40 rupees, then light the unlit torches with the Lantern to reach the second room. Use the Boomerang to hit the crystal switch, then open the chest for another Piece of Heart. From here, go outside and head southwest to the next screen (stay on the lower level). At the end, bomb another cracked wall and enter that cave. Use the Magic Hammer to clear the pegs, then bomb the north wall inside and enter the second room to find another Piece of Heart. Head outside yet again and rent a Shovel from the Rental Shop if you want to find another final Piece of Heart right now (I would recommend waiting until after the next dungeon). Anyway, head back to Kakariko Village. If it is 18:28 on the timer, you can buy a Bottle from the man on the carpet in the northwest area for 100 rupees. After that, head north into the Lost Woods again. This time, take the eastern path (crush the pegs in the way) and go through the second log tunnel to the northeast. At the other end, go east and you will find a tree stump with an opening in it. Cut down the bushes behind it and drop down the hole you expose. When you land, you will find a mini-game that becomes available later on. Go into the adjacent room and collect a Piece of Heart. Drop to the lower area and enter the side room to find two chests with 40 rupees total. Exit the cave and head northeast, and you will find another cave. Go down the steps and collect the fairies, then bomb the north wall and use the Magic Hammer to reach the chests containing 100 rupees. After that, exit the cave and head westward. You will see two log tunnels; go through them to the north and continue to the northeast, where you will find the fourth dungeon's entrance. ========== Dungeon #4 ========== When you enter this dungeon, go forward into the second room. There, go northeast and through another doorway to the third room. In the third room, go north and lift the two pots along the west wall, then bomb the wall to reveal a hidden room. In there, open the chest to get 50 rupees, and throw a Bomb onto the conveyor to trigger the crystal switch. Exit the room and enter the southwest door, and walk across to retrieve the Map from the chest. Go back to the large room and head all the way to the north side. Bomb the northwest wall to reveal another hidden room. In there, use the Magic Hammer to access a chest with 300 rupees inside! After that, go back to the main room and jump into the hole in front of the boss door. When you land on B2, defeat the bomb-dropping enemies to open the door, and head south. Go down the ladder and continue into the following room. In this conveyor belt room, dash to the far end and enter the southwest room. In here, lift the pots to reveal a floor switch in the northwest corner. Push the statue onto the switch to open the door, and enter that room. Open the chests to receive the Compass and the Large (red) Shield! Now, go back to the conveyor belt room, and enter the northwest door this time. Go through to the second room, and light the two torches on the upper level to make a chest appear below. Open it to get a Key, then unlock the door and go into the north room. Get across this room with the Blade Traps, and head up to B1. Carefully cross the room while avoiding the cannonballs, and hit the floor switch under the southwest pot to open the door. In the next room, go into the southern room for now. Trigger the large Blade Trap, standing in the doorway to avoid it. When it retreats, go into the west room. Pull the left statue's tongue and open the chest that appears to get the Big Key. With the Big Key in hand, go back two rooms. This time, head north by using the Magic Hammer. At the other side, open the big chest to get the Hookshot! Next, go back to the south end of the room, and enter the east door. Defeat the enemies if you want, then bomb the north wall and enter that room if you want to carry additional arrows for 100 rupees. Continue into the east room, and use the Hookshot to move across the high ledges to reach the northern area. Then, go upstairs to 1F. Back upstairs, use the Boomerang to grab the Key on the southern ledge. Go around the corner and unlock the door, then enter the new room. In this spike-filled room, you need to use the Hookshot on the pots to safely navigate the room. If you get to the east side, bomb the wall and enter the opening to find a chest containing 100 rupees. Then, make your way west of the spike room, and you will be back by the dungeon entrance. This time, head all the way northward and unlock the boss door. In the next room, you will find a large area full of ledges and pots on each of them. You need to cross the room with the Hookshot, one ledge at a time. From where you start, move to the following ledges in order: north, west, west, south, north, and north again. You will land in front of the final boss door. When you are ready, open it and enter to meet Arrghus. Visit the Bosses section if you need help defeating this creature. Once the battle is over, collect the Heart Container and the fourth Stone Tablet. You will then be sent back outside. ========= Overworld ========= Back outside, your objectives for the week are pretty much complete. If you have not found all of this week's Pieces of Heart, go ahead and do so now. Also, be sure to find the mole at 18:47. When the timer hits 18:56, the week will end. ============= Week #3 Begin ============= You will start off the third week inside of the house (Link's house) south of Hyrule Castle. Talk to Sahasrahla upon jumping out of bed, and you will be given the Big Bag again, which contains everything you had from the previous week. Open the chest in the corner and you will also receive the Worn-Out Gloves. These allow you to lift the light gray stones, but only one per screen! Anyway, leave the house and head west to find the mini-game for later, as well as the Rental Shop. For now, head south and west a screen, then get to the southwest corner of the area. You will see some steps surrounded by stones; lift one and go into that cave. Run through to the back of the room and use the Hookshot to cross the gap, then open the chest for your first Piece of Heart. Exit the cave and head back to the starting point (use the Ocarina). This time, lift a stone and head south to the next screen. Go east and bomb the cracked wall to enter another cave. Push the blocks around and open the chests to receive 150 rupees and another Piece of Heart. From there, go south and dash into a pile of rocks to uncover another cave. Bomb your way into the second room and open the chest to find 100 rupees. Exit the cave and go west to find a small pond area. Lift a stone and dash into the rock pile, then go inside to reach Dungeon #5. ========== Dungeon #5 ========== Starting off in the fifth dungoen, enter the room to the west. Defeat the Helmasaur, then use the Hookshot on the pots across the pit to get over there. Clear the pegs with the Magic Hammer, then enter the north room. Open the chest there to get the Map, then collect the Key with the Boomerang. Return to the dungeon entrance (use the Ocarina), then unlock the north door and enter that room. Clear the pots in your way and head down to B1. Down here, go around the corner and bomb the southern wall in the southeast area (between the torch on the northwest wall and the eastern wall). Enter that new room and open the chests to find the Compass and 50 rupees, then bomb the western wall and go in there. Open the chest at the end of this corridor to find another 100 rupees. Now, go back to the first room with the Stalfos and continue west and north into the following area. In this room, you will have to get through a block maze of sorts. You can do this by pushing the pairs of blocks in the middle area (push one forward and one to the side, then repeat ahead). At the far side of the room, bomb the east wall and enter that area to find 100 rupees in two chests. Back in the block room, light the four torches among the blocks, then enter the west room. Defeat the enemies here and open the chest to find a Key. Before you exit, bomb the south wall and go into that room to find 100 rupees. From there, bomb the west wall and enter another room for an additional 100 rupees. Now, go back to the block maze room and unlock the northern door. Then, head upstairs to 1F. Defeat the four Wizzrobes when you arrive in this room. You can bomb the east wall to reach a thief who will let you carry an extra 10 Bombs for 200 rupees. Do so if you want, otherwise go into the west room. You will find a hole in the floor, and four blocks around it. Push the southwest block into the hole, then jump into it as well. When you land, clear the pot and push the block onto the floor switch, opening the north door. Enter that new room. Defeat some more enemies in this room, and open the chest to find a Key. Bomb the west wall and go into that room. Open the chests to get 100 rupees, then light the four torches and enter the next room to find two more chests with 200 rupees! Next, go back two rooms and continue eastward. In that room, go north and light the four torches to make a chest appear. Hookshot over to it and collect the Big Key inside. After that, go upstairs to 1F. Up here again, follow the path leading to the south and east. Hit the crystal switch to lower the blue blocks, and climb the ladder ahead. Bomb the east wall and go in to find a massive 415 rupees scattered about! Go back to the previous room and open the big chest to find the Power Glove, which lets you lift as many gray stones as you want! Now, toss a bomb at the crystal switch below to trigger it, then go west into the next room. In this new room, hit the crystal switch to lower the blue blocks again. First, go north and Hookshot across the gap to reach a chest containing the LV3 Sword (or LV2 if you missed the first upgrade last week)! Hookshot back across, then take the southern path and grab a Key from the other chest. Use it to unlock the west door, and enter that room. There, get across the room and hit the crystal switch with the Boomerang, then open the chest for a Key. Unlock the north door and proceed onward. Here, lift the large block now that you can, and light the four torches with your Lantern. This will open the northern door, so quickly get through to the following room. Drop into the pit when you are ready (the pots have hearts if you are low on health), then when you land, enter the room ahead. You will be faced with three Lanmolas as the dungeon's bosses. View the Bosses section if you have trouble beating them. After the battle, collect the usual Heart Container and the fifth Stone Tablet! You will then end up outside of the dungeon. ========= Overworld ========= Outside once again, dash through the rock pile and lift the stones to exit the dungeon area. For now, head north back to the starting point for this week (Link's house). From there, go east one screen, then south a screen (lift the stones in your way). You will be next to a very much truncated Lake Hylia. Enter the eastern cave and recover with the fairy, then bomb the wall behind her to reach a room with 300 rupees. Exit the cave, and go southwest to the Fortune Teller's place. Stand at the edge of the cliff to the right, and Hookshot across to a small island with a Piece of Heart on it. Then, jump into the water and swim southeast to the main island in the middle of the lake. Enter that cave and talk to the thief to receive 300 rupees. Bomb the north wall and enter the second room to find ANOTHER 300 rupees! Head back outside and jump into the water once more. Swim to the north and follow the narrow river to the north and west. When you reach the bridge, swim under it to find a man resting in the shade. Talk to him to receive a Bottle. Now, swim back to the east and down the river to the main lake again. If it is 18:24 on the timer, a priest will be in the water; talk to him and agree to bring him back to the castle. Head to the main entrance of Hyrule Castle, and actually go inside the castle. Go straight ahead to the throne room on 2F, and you will reunite the priest with Zelda. Unfortunately, you don't receive a reward aside from points. Exit the castle and use the Ocarina to return to Link's house (your starting point for the week). Now, go south a screen and return to where Dungeon #5 is. From there, head west to the next screen. Make your way around the path, lifting a bunch of stones in the way. Dash into the rock pile ahead and enter the cave below. Bomb the northern wall inside and enter the second room to find a Piece of Heart. Exit the cave and go northwest to reach another cave. Inside, talk to the thief to receive 300 rupees. Bomb the wall behind him and you will find another room. Hit the crystal switch to lower the blocks, then cross the line and hit the switch again. Dash into the raised blocks to bounce across the pit, then collect the next Piece of Heart. Drop into the pit to return to the doorway, then exit the cave. From here, continue south and west to enter the desert region. Head directly northward along the east side to find another cave. Inside, collect some fairies if you want, then bomb the north wall. In that second room, light the four torches and open the chest that appears for another Piece of Heart. Now, exit the cave and go westward some more. Head north (check your map) and enter Dungeon #6. ========== Dungeon #6 ========== From the start, avoid the enemies and bomb the north wall to find a hidden room. Light the four torches to make a chest appear; open it for 300 rupees. Return to the previous room and head west into the next area (either path is fine). Open the chest there to get the Map, then go south to end up back outside. As a note, this dungeon has multiple entrances/exits, each leading to different parts of the overall dungeon. My guide will show you the quickest route, being that this is a timed game, so explore other paths at your own risk. Anyway, to the north there are three caves. If you want to find the Compass and a treasure trove of 790 rupees, enter the middle cave. Otherwise, enter the western cave and follow along with this guide. When you arrive, go directly into the west room. There, defeat the enemy with the large sand trap to receive a Key. Use it to go into the next room. In here, light the first two torches, then quickly throw a bomb to trigger the crystal switch below, and light the other two torches. Go through the door that opens ahead. Go north and clear the pegs in your way, then follow the path all the way north, east, and down a ladder at the end. Follow the path south and east into the next room. In the next room, go northeast and clear the pegs in your way. Climb the ladder and enter the east room. There, defeat the enemies and head north. In that room, defeat the two Wizzrobes, then bomb the west wall. Collect 100 rupees from the chests in there, then lift the southwest pot to reveal a floor switch. Push the northeast statue onto the switch to open the door, then go north. Open two more chests for 100 rupees, then go back two rooms. Go south one room, then lift the southwest pot and step on the floor switch to open all of the doors. Then, go into the east room. Here, avoid the enemies and bomb the eastern wall directly across from you. Pay the thief 200 rupees if you want to hold more Arrows. Exit the room and head south some more, then bomb the southeast wall and enter that room. Open the chest at the end to find 100 rupees, and bomb the southern wall to find another hidden chamber. Use the Magic Hammer to gain access to the chests containing another 200 rupees total. Next, go back to the enemy-filled area, then go west one room and north one. You will be back in the room with the Wizzrobes. This time, go down the stairs to reach the B1 level. There, defeat the Stalfos and head into the southwest room. Here, go all the way to the south end, lifting the pots to get some hearts back. Climb the west ladder and open the two chests there to receive 20 rupees and more importantly, the Red Clothes! Head to the east side this time and climb up the other ladder, then enter the east room. In there, avoid the laser statue and step on the floor switch under the northeast pot, opening the doors. In the following room, open the chest in the middle to get the Big Key. Use it to unlock the door and enter the room ahead. Open the chest ahead of you to get 50 rupees, then go west along the narrow path. You will see a pink Stalfos on a small platform across a wide gap. Shoot an arrow to kill it, then collect the Key with the Boomerang. Use it to unlock the western door. In the next room, open the first chest to get 20 rupees, then Hookshot over to the second chest and get 20 more rupees. Enter the room to the north, and open the big chest to receive the Fire Rod! Now, enter the room to the north. Follow the path around and you will see a fiery barrier rotating around the area, and four unlit torches. Walk clockwise behind the barrier, using the Fire Rod to light each torch from a distance. When the door is open, go into the next room. There, lift the pots to get some hearts before heading onward. In the final room, all you need to do is jump into the hole. When you land, you will meet Mothula, the boss of this dungeon. Read the Bosses section if you need help winning here. Once it's over, collect your Heart Container and the sixth Stone Tablet! You will then end up outside. ========= Overworld ========= Back outside, you will now have completed this week's objectives! If you were really curious about the other entrances of the dungeon you just completed, feel free to explore them. You can also visit the Rental Shop (west of your starting point) and rent the Shovel so you can dig up another Piece of Heart marked on your map. If you have enough time remaining, you can also check out the mini-game at 18:45 and other events for the week. Otherwise, wait until 18:56 and the third week will end. ============= Week #4 Begin ============= The fourth and final week will begin at the Sanctuary, where Sahasrahla will give you the Big Bag containing your inventory from the previous week. Before you leave, Princess Zelda will enter the room and decides to accompany you on the rest of your journey. She will follow you around, but luckily she won't take damage and you can go anywhere without restriction. With that settled, head outside. ========= Overworld ========= Out here, go forward to the main path and go east to the next screen. Enter the cemetery and go to the northwest tombstone (move the gray stones in front of it away). Push the tombstone and you will fall into a hidden cave. Follow the path to reach two chests containing 100 rupees and the last Bottle! Go down and exit the cave, then jump off the high ledge. Get to the northeast area of the cemetery and you will find another tombstone with a sign in front of it. Clear the stones out of the way, then dash into the front of the tomb to open up the passageway below it. Go down those steps to enter Dungeon #7. ========== Dungeon #7 ========== From the start, light the two torches with the Fire Rod to open the door. Enter the north room and open the chest to receive the Map, then collect the Key by using the Boomerang. Leave this room and head west, using the Magic Hammer to pound the pegs. Use the Hookshot on the chest to get across the gap, then open it to find the Compass. Unlock the door ahead and enter that room. In there, go all the way north and open the chest to get 100 rupees. This will also cause the path behind you to fall out, revealing holes. Drop into the hole to reach B2. When you land below, go south and you will find two statues. Pull the tongue out of the left statue and continue into the next room. There, defeat the jellyfish enemies and bomb the western wall. In that room, open the chests to get 100 rupees, then pound the pegs and pull the tongue on the statue to open the west door. If you proceed into that room, you can pay the thief 400 rupees to upgrade your Bomb-carrying capacity once more. Do so if you wish, then go back to the icy room. Then, head downstairs to B3. Down here, you will have to deal with another icy surface, complete with those enemies that cause you to ricochet backward if you attack them. Dash directly across the ice, knocking away/killing those enemies. Then, go through the center doorway. In that small room, open the chest to find the Powerful Gloves, which allow you to lift the darker stones! Also, be sure to hit the crystal switch to lower the blue blocks. Go back to the icy room and head down the northeast stairs to level B4. On the bottom level now, defeat all of the enemies to open the west door. In that next room, go across the ice (you can use the Hookshot on the blocks if you want to take the safer route). At the other side, open the northeast chest to get a Key. Go into the east room for now. Use the Hookshot to cross the spikes, then carefully maneuver around on the ice and open the chest to get the Big Key. Get back across the spikes, using the Hookshot on the block when the fire barrier is moving away, then leave the room. Now, use the Key to unlock the northern door and go back upstairs. There, go east and open the big chest to find the Cane of Somaria. With it, you can form platforms by using it on the small "?" blocks over pits. Use it to get across the eastern pit, then unlock the boss door and enter that room. Collect the fairies if needed, then when you are ready, jump into the final pit. When you land, you will face Kholdstare, the dungeon boss. Visit the Bosses section if you need help winning. After the battle, take the Heart Container and the seventh Stone Tablet, and exit this dungeon! ========= Overworld ========= Back outside, exit the cemetery and head west of the Sanctuary. Go north and east to the ledge west of Sanctuary, and dash into the rock pile to reveal a cave. Enter the cave and recover with the fairy, then bomb the north wall. Use the Cane of Somaria to trigger the crystal switch (make a block and toss it to the north, then use the cane again), then open the chest to find a Piece of Heart. Exit that cave and go west some more to find a small pond. Southwest of it, you will spot another Piece of Heart, so grab it! If you continue west to another screen, you will find the Fortune Teller's place. To the west of it, dash into the rock pile and enter the cave below. Use the Hookshot to cross over the groups of spikes, then open the chest at the end to find yet another heart piece. Now, head into the Lost Woods (use location #4 with the Ocarina). When you arrive, go west to where you found the dwarf in the second week, then continue north and west through the log tunnels. When you reach the far northwestern area, go through the last tunnel to reach the sacred grove. Go forward and take the Master Sword (LV4 Sword) from its pedestal. This sword will allow you to shoot beams at full health, plus you can kill the electrical enemies without taking damage! Make your way back out to the woods, and use the Ocarina to return to Sanctuary. From there, go west and north a few screens, going around the trees and defeating the crows along the way. You will pass the Rental Shop building as well. In the far north, you will see the lumberjacks trying to cut down a tree. Northeast of that, enter the cave behind their house. Use the Fire Rod and Hookshot to light all four torches and cross the gap, then enter the second room. Clear the pegs with the Magic Hammer and open the chest to get another Piece of Heart. Exit the cave, then head south and east along the side of the mountain. Lift the dark stone and enter the cave, which is Dungeon #8. ========== Dungeon #8 ========== Starting off, bomb the cracked eastern wall and enter that room. Pay the thief 400 rupees if you want to carry more arrows, then go back. Climb down the ladder and head north through the room, defeating the jellyfish enemies, then pull the statue's tongue and enter the northeast room. Go up the steps here and through the west door at the top. There, light two torches to make a chest appear on the floor below. So, go back around and open that chest to get a Key. From here, go east for two rooms. Since the blue blocks are in the way, go south and hit the crystal switch in the adjacent room. Return to the previous room and cross the lowered blue blocks, and unlock the door to proceed onward. Defeat the Stalfos and go around the corner to find a chest. Use the Magic Hammer to clear the pegs, and open the chest to get another Key. Head into the northern room and defeat the enemies on the catwalk, then unlock the door leading forward. In the next room, light the four torches to make a chest containing a Key appear. Take it, then hit the crystal switch to lower the orange blocks. Now, go back a couple of rooms, then head east into the room that was blocked by the orange blocks previously. In there, place a bomb next to the crystal switch and quickly head south between the orange and blue blocks before it explodes. After that, go south and unlock the door leading into the next room. There, open the chest to get the Map, then head upstairs into the darkened 2F. Upstairs, go south and lift the pots to find a floor switch. Step on it to open the west door, then go into that room. There, defeat the bomb-dropping enemies and walk along the edge of the pit in the middle area. You can Hookshot to a chest in the southwest corner, which contains 100 rupees (get back across via the block in the northwest corner). Then, go north. In that room, go east and Hookshot across the spike pit. Go north and defeat the Stalfos, then head east at the intersection. Hookshot across the gap and open the chest to receive the Compass. Get back across the gap, and head through the door in the northwest area. In there, go west and Hookshot across the first gap to find a chest. Open it to obtain the Mirror Shield, which is larger and can deflect beams! Hookshot across the second gap and head eastward, killing the Keese along the way, and enter the east room. First, go north and stand next to the block, then Hookshot eastward to reach a chest containing 100 rupees. Get back across in the same manner, then go south and bomb the middle of the western wall (you'll see the cracked wall markings). Enter that hidden room to get another 100 rupees. Finally, in the previous room, get to the southeast area and open a third chest to get the last set of 100 rupees. After you're done here, defeat the enemies and enter the east room. Defeat the blue enemies, then light the four torches to make a chest appear. Open it to get a Key, and use it to unlock the way into the next room. There, make your way northward through this maze-like room, defeating the enemies along the way (if the torches in the last room are still lit, you will be able to see better here). At the north end, simply go upstairs to 3F. Here, go directly into the southern room. There, defeat the Helmasaurs and Hookshot across the northern gap. Bomb the wall and enter the hidden room, and open the chest to get 100 rupees. Return to the previous room and continue into the northwest room. Dash to the north past the red bumper enemy and continue to the next room. In that room, bomb the southeast wall to reveal another hidden room. Knock down the pegs and open the chest to find 100 rupees. Then, bomb the north wall and enter a second room to find 300 more rupees! From here, go back two rooms, then go south one room for now (this will reset the crumbling floor room). Go into the northern room again, then quickly lift the pots and dash northward across the crumbling floor. Defeat the Helmasaurs at the far end and clear the pots to get across safely, then go upstairs to 4F. Up there, start by going through the nearby doorway. Open the chest there to get the Big Key, then exit the room. Make your way southward through this room now by using the Cane of Somaria. Open the southwest chest to find 100 rupees, then defeat the Wizzrobes and head into the southeast room. Defeat the enemies and Hookshot across the gap, and bomb the eastern wall to find a hidden room. Go in there and open the chests to find 200 rupees, then lift the northwest pot and hit the floor switch to reach the east room. Open two more chests there to find another 200 rupees, then go back to the room where you bombed the wall. This time, defeat the enemies and use the Fire Rod to light the four torches in order to open the north door. In that room, open the big chest to get the Ice Rod! Bomb the east wall and enter that room to find 200 rupees in two chests. Then, go back to the chest room and unlock the boss door to proceed onward. In the next room, make your way northward while blocking the beams with your Mirror Shield (it helps to face northward while holding B, so your sword is always facing the right and blocking the beams). At the north end of this room, go next to the pots and dash/turn to bounce off them and cross the gap. Bomb the west wall and enter the first hidden room. Open two chests there to get 100 rupees, then pull the statue's tongue and head into the south room. Open two more chests there to get a whopping 600 rupees! Now, head back two rooms and Hookshot across the gap, then go into the east room. There, collect the fairies floating around, then when you are set to go, enter the north room to meet Trinexx, the dungeon boss. Read the Bosses section if you need help beating it. Once the battle is over, collect the Heart Container and the final Stone Tablet! After that, the back of the room will open up, so continue ahead to 5F. Up there, simply go south and exit the dungeon. ========= Overworld ========= You will emerge on the summit of Death Mountain. Head east and north to find a bridge. Cross it and you will find a large tablet statue at the other end. Zelda will stay there, and she will call you back telepathically when she is ready for you. That will occur at 18:48, so until then you have free reign on where you go in the world. This is your chance to collect the rest of the Pieces of Heart for the week, play the mini-game, visit the mole, and check out anything else you may have missed before. Near the bridge you just crossed, go down the steps into a fairy cave. Bomb the north wall and enter the second room. Use the Cane of Somaria to place a block to the left, then shatter it to trigger the crystal switch. Hookshot across and open the chest for a Piece of Heart. Exit this cave and return to the main overworld by using the Ocarina. At 18:34, if you go east and south from the Sanctuary, you will find the mole near a bridge. His hole will appear on the Death Mountain summit, and contains a total of 1400 rupees! If you go to the west of where Dungeon #8's entrance is, you can visit the Rental Shop and rent a Shovel to find a Piece of Heart (you can have a maximum of six Pieces of Heart up to this point in the week). When you are done exploring, wait for 18:48 to come, then Zelda will call to you. At that point, use the Ocarina and fly to the triangular target atop Death Mountain immediately! Up there, talk to Zelda and you will receive the Silver Arrows. The statue will also crumble, revealing a warp tile. Step into it and enter the Dark World. When you emerge, dash into the rock pile to the left and enter the cave there. Recover with the fairy and enter the second room, using the Hookshot to cross the spikes, and collect the Piece of Heart in the chest at the end. Exit the cave in the same manner, and go to the northeast corner behind the tower. You will find the final Piece of Heart there. Now that you are done exploring out here, go to the tower and use your sword to cut through the electrical barrier. Then, enter the tower. ============= Ganon's Tower ============= Inside the tower, simply dash up the long staircases to the top level. Then, go right and you will find a hole at the end of the path. If you are ready for the final battle, jump in and you will face Ganon. View the Bosses section if you need help defeating this boss. After the final battle, you will exit the tower. ========= Overworld ========= Back outside for the final time, step into the red warp tile and return to the Light World. Go south and talk to Zelda at the cliff's edge, then just wait for 18:56 to end the week. If you completed all of your objectives, congratulations on beating this game! You will receive the good ending. If you fell short, as in missing Stone Tablets, you will receive the bad ending. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 6. Bosses -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Armos Knights (x6) Found: Dungeon #1 (Week #1) Strategy: There are six Armos Knights you face here, and they bounce around the room in a circular pattern. They will briefly move to the center area before lining up along the northern wall. The quickest way to kill them is by using your Bow. Two arrows will kill each one (you can use your sword but it will take longer). When only one knight is left, it will turn red and attempt to crush you from above. Move around to avoid it, then quickly turn and shoot an arrow to cause damage. Three more shots will kill the final knight. Moldorm Found: Dungeon #2 (Week #1) Strategy: This armored worm is the second boss you will face. It is only vulnerable on the spinner at the tip of its tail. If you strike it with your sword, it will temporarily move around the room at high speed, so be careful! Three hits from your sword will defeat it. Helmasaur King Found: Dungeon #3 (Week #2) Strategy: For this battle, there are two parts of it. The first part is where the Helmasaur King has a large armored mask, which you can break apart by using the Magic Hammer. The boss will move back and forth, periodically shooting out three fireballs that will each shoot into three directions. Once the mask is gone, a large green crystal will be exposed on the boss's head. The boss will also move around much more quickly, shooting fireballs at a faster pace as well. You can only damage it with arrows, though. Eight arrows will destroy this creature. Arrghus Found: Dungeon #4 (Week #2) Strategy: When you meet this boss, it will be surrounded by many small balls. Stand at a distance and use the Hookshot to pull them away one at a time, turning them blue, and use the Sword to destroy them. Arrghus will periodically stop moving, and those balls will spread out and spin at high speed, so get away to avoid taking damage. When all of the balls are gone, Arrghus will attack by trying to crush you from above before dashing around the room. Attack with your sword and it will launch itself in the air to repeat the pattern. Five hits from your LV2 Sword will be enough to win. Lanmolas (x3) Found: Dungeon #5 (Week #3) Strategy: For this fight, you are faced with three Lanmolas. They will dig out of the sand (you will see where they are about to appear), then emerge and move across the room before burrowing into the ground again. When they appear, rocks will be shot in the four diagonal directions, so watch out for that. The weak spot on each of these worms is the head, so attack that with your sword. It should take around 5 hits to kill each of them. When all three are defeated, you will have won the battle. Mothula Found: Dungeon #6 (Week #3) Strategy: This giant moth creature floats around in a room where the floor moves and the perimeter is lined with spikes. The Blade Traps also slide across the room periodically, adding to the danger. Mothula flies around, stopping every now and then to shoot fiery rings in three directions (forward and the two diagonals). Your best bet is to use the Fire Rod to attack Mothula from a distance. It will only take four hits to kill it if you use the Fire Rod, or you can attack with your sword (with an added risk of taking lots of damage yourself). Kholdstare Found: Dungeon #7 (Week #4) Strategy: When you arrive in the room, the boss will be encased in a block of ice. All the while, small ice chunks will fall from the ceiling and break into four smaller pieces, all of which can damage you. Use the Fire Rod to melt the large block of ice, releasing the three parts of the boss. The parts will simply move around the room while ice falls from above. Attack the parts with your sword, or hit them from a distance with the Fire Rod. With the Fire Rod, it takes four hits to kill each of them, and a bit more with even the LV3 sword. Trinexx Found: Dungeon #8 (Week #4) Strategy: This giant turtle boss has three heads to start the battle. The left is fire-based and the right is ice-based. The main head will extend to attack you every now and then (its tail will move quickly before this happens). The key is to attack the fire and ice heads with the appropriate rods. Use the Fire Rod to hit the ice side once, then hit the stunned head with your sword to kill it. Repeat this with the Ice Rod on the opposing head, then the main shell will break open. The boss will then move around the room at high speed, while its middle section will be flashing. This is its weak point, so lead the boss around the room and attack the flashing point with your sword. It will only take three hits to kill it. Ganon Found: Ganon's Tower (Week #4) Strategy: For the final battle, Ganon will begin by warping around the room. He will stop periodically to summon a ring of fire that will expand outward before turning into fiery bats to attack you. All you can do is attack Ganon with your sword when he is standing in one place. Attack repeatedly with your sword, since you have a limited time to win here. After you cause enough damage, Ganon will start warping around more before causing a larger ring of fire to expand outward (step back to avoid this). Keep attacking and Ganon will taunt you, then the two torches will burn out, causing the room to go dark. You need to then light the torches quickly with the Fire Rod, since if the room is dark, Ganon is invisible and will attack you with fiery bats. When both torches are lit, Ganon will freeze in place briefly, so quickly hit him once with your sword to turn Ganon blue. At that point, shoot a Silver Arrow at him to cause damage. Repeat this three times to win! ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 7. Items -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ============== Main Equipment ============== Clothing: When you start the game, you will have the standard green clothes. During the course of the game, you will receive stronger (blue and red) outfits to increase your standard defenses. Shield: The shield enables you to block certain types of projectiles and other attacks. There are three types of shields (Small Shield, Large Shield, and Mirror Shield), with each one able to deflect more types of projectiles. Sword: This is your most basic type of weapon, used by pressing B. You can attack enemies with it, and charge a spinning attack by holding B for a couple of seconds. There are four types of swords in the game, each more powerful than the last (LV1, LV2, LV3, and finally the Master Sword). ============ Action Items ============ Flippers: These flippers are required for you to swim in deeper water. If you don't have them, you can not swim and you will take damage if you fall into the water! Pegasus Boots: With these, you can dash in any direction (press/hold A) with your sword drawn straight ahead. You can knock down weak walls and knock items out of trees or other obstacles. You can also change direction when dashing by using the Control Pad! Power Glove: This glove allows you to lift the light gray stones in the overworld, as well as larger blocks. Unlike the Worn-Out Gloves, you can lift as many stones as you want on the same screen! Powerful Gloves: These gloves will allow you to lift the darker stones in the overworld, so they are an upgrade from the Power Glove. Worn-Out Gloves: With this weathered glove, you can lift the light gray stones in the overworld, but only one on each screen. This means you need to plan what you lift, or else you will waste your time! ============ Usable Items ============ Bomb: The standard bombs, used to blow open cracked walls and damage enemies. Boomerang: This handy items allows you to retrieve items from a distance, and can also temporarily stun many enemies. Bottle: These special bottles can be used to store bees, fairies, and any of the special potions safely. You can use the bottle at any time to consume/release its contents. There are four Bottles in the game, and this is a quick list of where each one is located: 1. You start Week #1 with this one. 2. Buy this Bottle from the man in the northwest area of Kakariko Village in Week #2 for 100 rupees. 3. In Week #3, swim along the river to the north of Lake Hylia, and go under the bridge. Talk to the man resting there to receive this one for free. 4. In Week #4, fall into the northwest tombstone in the cemetery. In the cave below, one of the chests will contain this Bottle. Bow and Arrows: With the Bow, you will be able to shoot arrows to attack certain enemies and activate various targets. There are two types of arrows, the regular Wooden Arrows, and the Silver Arrows. The Silver Arrows are required to defeat the final boss, and are much more powerful. Bug-Catching Net: This standard net can be used to capture Bees and small Fairies found throughout the game. If you catch something with this net, you can store it in an empty Bottle. Cane of Somaria: This strange cane can be used to create small blocks to weigh down switches, or large platforms on "?" tiles to help you cross gaps. Only one block can be active at a time, so if you use the cane again, the first block will shatter (this shattering can be used as a projectile, too). Fire Rod: This magical rod allows you to shoot flames to damage enemies and light torches from a distance, at the cost of some magic. Hookshot: This metal hook allows you to pull distant objects closer to you. You can also pull yourself to sturdier objects, such as statues and pots. You are invulnerable to enemy attacks while the Hookshot is extended, so keep that in mind. Ice Rod: This magical rod allows you to shoot icy crystals to freeze enemies in their tracks, at the cost of some magic. Lantern: This basic lamp allows you to light unlit torches directly in front of you. It also automatically illuminates the path for you in dark rooms. When used as an item, it consumes a small amount of magic. Magic Hammer: This special hammer allows you to knock down pegs and stakes in your way. It can also flip over and/or damage certain armored enemies. Mushroom/Magic Powder: In the Lost Woods, you will find a Mushroom. Bring it to the witch outside of the Magic Shop to receive Magic Powder. This special powder can transform certain enemies, but is primarily used to get the expanded magic meter. Ocarina: When used inside of dungeons, you can return to the entrance. If used on the overworld, a bird will swoop down and carry you to certain marked locations on the map (dungeon entrances you've been to, and other key locations). Shovel: Use this item to dig in the earth and recover potentially hidden items. In this game, you only have the Shovel for a limited time through the Rental Shop, so use it wisely! ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 8. Mini-Games -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ============================ Pot Smashing Store (Week #1) ============================ At 18:45, go to the area southeast of Sahasrahla's house (where Piece of Heart #2 can be found). Drop into the holes and you will fall into a room with a thief, who runs a pot-smashing game. Pay 50 rupees for 15 seconds, and pots will scroll up and down along the sides of the room. You will be given a Hammer, used by pressing Y. There are two types of pots: regular skulls which give nothing, and the flashing pots that give rupees. The key is to hit the flashing pots consecutively to gain more rupees (1 > 5 > 20 > 50 rupees). If you hit a skull pot, the flashing pots reset back to 1 rupee. ============================ Bomb-Throwing Game (Week #2) ============================ At 18:45, go into the Lost Woods and fall into the hole in the bushes behind the tree stump cave. Talk to the thief and you can play a mini-game where you throw Bombs into a pot moving back and forth below. It costs 20 rupees and you get five Bombs, one at a time. If you throw the Bomb into the pot, you will get rupees. The prizes become progressively higher if you make consecutive shots in (8 > 16 > 32 > 64 > 300 rupees). If you miss, the prize goes back to 8 rupees. ======================== Shooting Range (Week #3) ======================== At 18:45, enter the left door of the building with two doors, found just west of your starting point for the week. You can pay 20 rupees, and you will get five arrows. The objective is to hit the targets moving in the back row while avoiding the hands that move in the opposite direction in the front. For each target you hit successfully, you will win some rupees. Consecutive shots earn you more rupees (4 > 8 > 16 > 32 > 64 rupees). If you miss, the prize goes back down to 4 rupees. =============== Slots (Week #4) =============== At 18:35, enter the building next to the Fortune Teller's place (west of Sanctuary). There are three open slots ahead of you, with rupees and Octoroks moving around like slot reels. Pay 20 rupees and you can use the Boomerang to stop each slot by throwing it. If you get three of the same rupee value, you will win that amount. The white Octorok counts as a wild card, so for instance if you get two red rupees and an Octorok, you will win the 20 rupees. If you manage to get three Octoroks, you win 900 rupees! ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 10.
