Stone Monuments g. Fuwa-Fuwa Island 4. Magic Powers 5. Ending 1. Introduction I never even heard of this game until a couple of days ago. I've never even played Super Adventure I. Out of the blue I decided to buy this and I was NOT disappointed. This game. I really wanted some nice art for this F.A.Q. though. Just get it if you have a Super Nintendo. The music is very Hawaiian and graphics are splendid. Well, since that is out of the way, here's the story. 2. Story After a glorious wedding, Master Higgins and his luscious wife, Tina, were on their way to a romantic honeymoon. But from out of nowhere, a tropical cyclone broke through the seas and ripped the newlyweds apart. Tina survived but lay dazed on the island of Waku-Waku. Her memory had completely vanished. Master Higgins had an equally rough time, being bounced around and drifting aimlessly before finally landing on a deserted island. Master had lost his memory as well, his vision of Tina all but a grain of sand on the vast beach before him. But being a great warrior, he set out to recover his past. Tina was found and came to live on the island of Waku-Wku. The good king there soon fell in love with her and they decided to marry. But trouble was in the air! Just as the King was about to slip on the ring... From towering heights came a beastly buzzard. Swooping down, he stole Tina from the altar and carried her off. While Master Higgins was passing the castle, he heard the screaming Tina, not recognizing the voice of his lost, fair maiden. 3. After the story is finished, press up to talk to the king, he will give you 100 tokens. Leave then talk to the hotel guy and go to sleep. When you are sleeping your heart[s] are also rejuvenated. Tina will come in a dream and say find the Silver Sword. Now head to Poka-Poka and along the way are some mini- battles. * *Author's Note: If you are stupid enough not to save after every major event, this game will take a long, long time. a. Poka-Poka Forest As soon as you are here, get past the Flying foxes & Venus Flytraps. See that hole in the tree? Pass it for now and drop down the rope. Shimmy down it all the way to the bottom and go inside the hole to teach you about switches. As soon as your done go outside and stand on it. Then when the Light Stone switch is turned on, head left by jumping on the Light platforms and soon you'll finally lay your hands on, yes you read it here, the Silver Sword. Press X to change to the sword and start swiping away. After you have gone back to the rope, climb back up then stop when you reach the middle. Head right, then demolish the rock with one blow. Kill the pig and since you cannot jump high enough, sink into the vortex. Ride your leaf until you get to a rope. Climb up and kill the armadillo's. Jump on the bouncing platforms 3 times a piece to the next land area. Swipe the pig then note another chest. If you need rejuvenation, jump up to the hole & go in the water, otherwise keep jumping until you climb up yet another rope. Go all the way to the top and go left. Keep going until you reach the wilder part of the jungle and then fall down a rope to open the chest & receive, 1/2 of a heart! Now you have to work back until you get to before you fell down to get the 1/2 piece of heart. Jump over it now, climb up the rope and use the moving tree to your advantage. When you reach the strange looking door, open it to find CHIEFTAIN: MONSTER TREE (have a better name, e-mail me) How to win: First off, get one hit in before it does anything. Then jump out of the way of his long arms and hit him again. Now he reaches up and pulls an apple out of the trees. Dodge this then prepare to jump again or kill the little bark monster he drops out of his mouth. Be fast though, they run fast. Now he reaches up with both hands and shakes down a few apples on you. Quickly get out of the way of those and get some hits in. BTW, to hit him stand in between his arms and hack away. Move when his jaw drops. After 20+ hits he succumbs and you get the LIGHT STONE! Watch the cinema, Tina tells you that she's been imprisoned on Hiya-Hiya & that you are incredibly beautiful. b. Hiya-Hiya Glacier To get here, you must go inside the cave before Waku-Waku. Pull out your Light Stone in front of the Statue and watch as the Light Gates are submerged. Before you go inside of Boa-Boa though, go to the left and inside the cave. Read the stone tablet and jump to the right. Fight the big lizard and after about 10 hits you get the SUN STONE! Since you cannot go inside Boa-Boa Island or Fuwa-Fuwa, go to the cave surrounded by more gates and use the Sun Stone there. After the gates are gone, head all the way left then up then right. The cave there is a rejuvenation chamber so go into the whirlpool. Jump over the rock and talk to the old man. Pay him 100 coins and he'll reveal a secret of how to move boulders. Now you're a real earth-shaker. Leave and go to the cave beside Hiya-Hiya. Move the boulder and get the ICE-BELL! When inside HH stand on the pedestal and use the Ice-Bell. Since the door is open now enter the HH dungeon. Move the ice block then slice the snow- ball throwing bunnies and ice turtles. Head from cloud to cloud until you see a chest. You can make the jump just standing at the edge to get the FIRE SWORD! Equip it and break the ice pillar to head to another area. Head straight to the end and climb up the rope. Head left to find another rope then right to find another. After you've climbed it, head left to find some new enemies like bats & seals then climb up still another ice rope. Go right then climb up another rope. These ice cubes break with 2 hits so clear them + the enemies out. Open the chest to find FIRE-ARMOR! It works well in the cold! ;) In this get-up he looks pretty funky! Push the arrow marked <- and something in the dungeon shifts. Go right and climb up the newfound rope and drop at the first drop you see. Drop to the right and crouch on the star switch to turn it off. Now you can do a lot of stuff since the star blocks are turned off. Go to where the bats & seals were and open the chest to get 1/2 of a heart! Climb the rope again and since the switch is off push the lock all the way to the edge and hear the loud BOOM! Drop down and press left and since the Star blocks are deactivated you'll get a FIRE SHIELD! Equip it then move the ice block to the left to jump over the icicles. Keep doing this while avoiding the multitude of penguins. Soon enough you'll reach another strange door, which yields CHIEFTAIN: ICE MAMMOTH How to win: All it is, it's a mammoth covered in ice except for the trunk. If you face front your shield will absorb the snowballs. After a bit you will have sliced all the ice off now he repays the favor by ramming you. Swing your fire sword or jump to the left while he does it and you won't take any damage. When he's not ramming you jump over his trunk and hit him. You'll know if it connected if his eyes turn red. 14 hits like this will put the big guy away for good. A golden chest drops down to reveal the STAR STONE! After the cinema use the star stone to lower the star gates. c. Boa-Boa Volcano Go to the water whirlpool after the gates are down. Open the chest to get the MAGIC WAND! There are different types of magic for it. When you get green jars it builds it up. The first kind you receive is Feather. Read the tablet for some info on it. Next, head to the adjacent cave. Open the chest to get a SUN RING! If you want to go to Poka-Poka then in the wild part of the jungle crouch on the switch then go from branch to branch to get the DAGGER! If you see the rock push it down and get 500 coins and the rock tells you some info about magic. Then head to Boa-Boa Island, once inside stand on the pedestal and use the sun ring. Watch as the volcano erupts and now you have access to the Boa-Boa dungeon. Now go inside. Leap from cloud to cloud while hitting the baby dragons. Drop down the rope then quickly go from stone to stone. Run or jump down the ramp then cross the platforms fast. Keep hopping up, when you are at the top, go left. Hop up on the rock to receive the ICE ARMOR! Traverse back to the intersection and go right. Climb up the rope & hop across the clouds to the right to get a magic bottle. Hop across the clouds to the left to get an ICE SHIELD! Get back down the rope and go right. Kill the henchmen & flying puppies and when you get to the last rope, jump right to find the sun switch. Crouch down to turn it off, then use the wand to exit. Travel back to Poka-Poka Island and once inside, go all the way to where you have to use the bouncing platforms to jump. Once across them and on the rope in the middle, jump off then go right to get the ICE SWORD! Use the wand once again and get back to Boa-Boa. Now when you reach the switch drop down the rope. The first opening is a health pool. On the very bottom go inside and push the lever marked <- and hear the sound of something shifting. Get back to the top and get up the rope again. Head left and drop down the rope. Push all the levers in this area behind sun blocks but beware, as some are filled with dragons + centipedes. When you are done, get to the very bottom and drop down in the middle. Go right & take the rides on the moving ropes then head down the stone steps. After you get off the moving stones, head upward to another strange looking door, which holds CHIEFTAIN: ROCKET TURTLE How to win: With the Ice Sword this shouldn't be too much of a problem. When he first sticks his head out hit him then back up. He will shoot one turtle at you, kill it quickly then hit his head. After 4-5 hits he appears to be sleeping but will shoot out 3 turtles in a row right after another. If your quick kill them all but otherwise jump. Then he will blast away so just twiddle your thumbs during this spare time. He will spin around while dropping 1,2,3, or 4 baby brethren. After that he will lower down and stick his head out again. Just keep dicing him and he will end up extinct. When you are done, you will receive the AQUA STONE! Tina once again comments on how fine you are. d. Puka-Puka Beach* *Author's Note - This the most confusing stage in this game. If you get lost somewhere, my address is right up there! Go to the cave right next to Waku-Waku and use the Aqua Stone to make the gates descend. All the way to the right is a regenerating pool. Go upward and you'll reach a stone that says How Strong Are You? Jump to your right and proceed to fight the Big Bear. Always hit him in the head when he's on the ground. You get the POWER FAN for your hard work. Next, head directly left to go in the whirlpool. You get the SHOVEL! When you equip it, your shield, armor and sword will be taken off. Before you go inside the beach, go directly left. The old man there will teach you how to punch down with your sword. Now go right to enter Puka-Puka. Since you can't swim down, use the Power Fan on the pedestal. When the FMV (snicker) is done enter it to be sucked in a vortex. Now you are inside a maze of whirlpools. Ignore the one you just ascended out of & move up to go in another vortex. When you're done spinning around, go up again. Talk to the guy to go to a Casino! If you have lots of coins, exchange them for items like a shield or armor. This place is pretty fun you get to earn money but sometimes it takes a while. When you exit this place head up then left. When you get to the blocks pull out your trusty shovel & dig. Then proceed until you get to more dirt blocks, dig those too. Push all the way back where you came from, leave then go up then left. Head left then climb down the vine to the middle. Keep traveling along until you reach the <- -> platforms. Keep jumping until you reach a chest, which has the AQUA ARMOR! Head over past the clam and leave this whirlpool. You should be in the place with 3 side by side whirlpools. Move to the far right one, and travel through, killing the bomb birds and octopuses then leave out your exit. Move to the next pool, shovel the dirt & at the end, push the level marked ->. Cruise to the pool you were just in, and discover that there isn't any water. Smash + bash the octopuses and keep riding the platforms until you get to the end. Now you should be back in the 3 whirlpools region. Go to the one right next to you, or the middle one and the water is gone here too. Kill the starfish and spiked balls to get a magic bottle in a chest! Now you have tie, which freezes enemies. Go back the way you came and go to the last of the 3 whirlpools. Inside toward the right wall if you time your jump right you'll receive the THUNDER SWORD! Equip it and the armor if you haven't yet then leave the way you came. Of the 2 whirlpools at the front, go to the one near the right. At the end of it, finally turn off the Water Switch. Leave the way you came then go across to the whirlpool towards the left. Get back to those 3 whirlpools then see the 2 whirlpools above you? Advance to the right one then at the end you can shut off the aqua switch. Leave out of here then go to the middle of the 3 finger lakes. Just push through digging your way and soon you'll get 1/2 heart. Exit here then head across to another strange door. Inside is CHIEFTAIN: GIANT OCTOPUS How to win: They drop you off in a pool where your swimming about. Quickly move away from his tentacles. After a bit he surfaces then shoots balls at you while moving his tentacle around. When he descends back into the water move faster since his tentacles get even faster. Hit his tentacle while he's on the surface, then when his head moves up go over and hit it before it moves down, all while dodging the shooting balls. The most you can get at a time is probably 3, unless your controlling skills are excellent. 9-10 pokes will make him spurt out black ink but it really is futile. 15-16 more will send him aboard the SS Dead. You receive the MOON STONE! For your hard troubles, Tina is taken to another dungeon. I recommend after that go back to the casino if you haven't and win enough money to buy everything there at the exchange. e. Sala-Sala Pyramid As always, use the moon stone to get rid of the moon gates blocking your progress. Then enter the whirlpool before Sala-Sala. The old man will teach the 'block bluster (buster?) method'. Pay him 500 already and learn. After you have it down and have crushed the practice blocks, enter Sala-Sala. Goodness gracious, the background is really surreal. Walk all the way to the end while noticing a pyramid. Instead of climbing the chain go right. When the bouncing blocks are blue you get a little height, when yellow in the medium range, red will send you high to hit the spikes so jump quickly to avoid that color. Climb the chain all the way to the top then go left to get away from the golden heads. Climb up another chain then at the bottom of this new chain, jump to get a magic bottle. Climb up this new chain to find the crescent switch. Turn it on then get back to where the moon blocks where. At the bottom of the gyve leap then enter the hole. This part took me a little while but I made it easy for you FAQ readers. Ignore the first set of blocks to dig and proceed to the middle. Shovel your way down then hit the right cave instead of the left to see a chest. You get a 1/2 heart. There are more color bouncers. At the end of this area you receive a magic bottle. This attack is actually decent! You use a blizzard attack. Fare back to the place where you have to dig. Go to the third set of blocks then near the left one. Drop down then enter another hole. Keep on mounting the chains until you get to a cavern. Enter that one, then the next and the next. Push the block left first and get 2000 coins for your troubles. Keep pushing left until it falls in the groove. Leap in the groove then push the lever so you have a shortcut to Puka-Puka. Do the process all over again since the block is in its former position. Move to the top of the pyramid then back down again. Enter the hole then another then drop down. Next to the color blocks is a health pool. Scale the pyramid steps. If all the switchs from the previous levels are on you keep springing to the top and you'll procure AQUA SHIELD! That's why it wasn't in Puka-Puka. Equip it then travel all the way down then left. Ride the little red tiles until the last one goes in the slot. Bolt down to enter the cavern. Leap to the block, push it down then push the arrow so you hear a rumbling. Now jump over the blue block to reach the golden tile. At the top there is an opening. After you chalk up the LEGENDARY AX, go to the peculiar door to find CHIEFTAIN: THE MUMMY How to win: While he is floating around, he drops a hand on you. Move expeditiously then hit the hand a couple of times. When he does this with the other, get that one too. You cannot use the blizzard attack here. If you can't avoid the hands, use tie, you can get like 5 or 6 hits in a hand at once. Use recovery when low on health. More than 12 hits each with the boomerang square both the hands away. Don't disregard the long patch, as that can hurt you too. Now all that is left is the body. Switch to the ax, leap while throwing them at his body. After like 14 hits his body disintegrates, now his head is left. Throw axes while avoiding the silver stars he spits out. Approximately 15 hits will wrap him back up. You gain the ELVEN FLUTE! You & Tina have your memory back now, but it still isn't over until you rescue her. f. Stone Monuments You know those places with the pedestal that you can't do anything in? You have to visit all five of those. I went to Boa-Boa since it is the closest, so let's head there. Boa-Boa Volcano From the start, dash through the baby dragons and the clouds. Leap from stone to stone, then bound down the hill away from the giant boulder. Hop up to the top, then head right. Go all the way right and leap inside the switch place. Turn it off then go back to where you were. Shoot up the first rope you see, then go inside the cavern to the pedestal. Jump on it, then whip out the Elven Flute. Leave, then advance right to a new area. Skip across the clouds to get a new magic bottle. I won't spoil you by telling what it does. Descend down the rope, and at the very bottom is the SUN SPELL! Once you acquire it, use the feather magic to leave this place. Hiya-Hiya Glacier Equip the fire shield, armor and sword. Head down the hills, break the ice then keep going. Once you get to the ice block and the rope, leap over it then leap over the hole to reach the monument. Head inside the play the flute. Head right then escalate the rope. Hop from rope to rope left and receive 1/2 heart. Now go to the right while dodging the spinning penguins. Once your on the pink weights, jump so it goes up. Go from weight then jump to the rope. Now go from cloud to cloud gain the STAR SPELL! Use the feather magic to leave. Poka-Poka Forest Equip the silver sword, just for old times' sake. Drop down the first rope but stop in the middle. After the vortex scene, climb up the rope then pass the centipedes. Get 500 coins if you already haven't. Jump on the bouncing blue then scale the rope to the top. Head right to see the place then use the elven flute inside. Climb up the rope then crouch down on the yellow switch. Hurdle from branch to branch then escalate the rope. Kill most of this multitude of enemies to keep your health up. At the end is the LIGHT SPELL! Drop down the rope to gain 1000 coins, a nifty bonus. You should know the drill by know. Use the feather to leap out of here. There is a cave right next to here in case you are hurting. Puka-Puka Beach Put on your aqua armor and sword. Now that you have the shield put that on too. Push on left, cutting the bladder fish. Advance to the top, then to the left whirlpool. Slit the crabs and bomb birds then find a green rope area. Proceed to the middle, then exercise the boomerang/sword on the multiple enemies. Go to the next whirlpool. At the bottom right of this area you can use the upward slash to get a magic bottle. You can savor it yourself if you've gotten this far. After you've exited out of this area, approach the left of the 3 finger lakes. Go directly left, then jump your way up to the exit. Go down into the whirlpool. Now you've finally found the monument. Pull out the flute already, then leave to discover a crack in the ground with bubbles. Once inside a bubble, go up then keep going, neglecting the enemies and spikes. Hitch another bubble ride to descend down. Acquire the magic bottle, then ride the bubble all the way to the top then go up left to obtain 1000 coins. Catch this next bubble then progress left. Make it to the top to claim the AQUA SPELL! Quickly leave. Now. Sala-Sala Pyramid Journey straightforward to the digging place. Dig the middle then use the down punch with the sword to break the rock. Enter it, open the treasure box to get the CRYSTAL SWORD! It's stronger than mere metal. This next part took me 2 days to find. Keep pressing on until you have to scale the pyramid steps. When you are off of them and see the colored bouncers, head right. Bounce fast unless you have all of the switches on. OH FINALLY HERE IS THE STONE MONUMENT. Operate the Elven Flute for the very last time, then fare right. When you make the drop, hold the pad right so you can get a magic bottle after breaking through 4 rocks. Whenever a red tile ends, spring quickly to the next one. Do this while either dissevering the golden heads or just overlooking them. At the end, after you obtain the MOON SPELL!, out of an orifice, hastily save. g. Fuwa-Fuwa Island Before you head here, if your heart and magic are low go to the hotel on Waku-Waku. Then go to Poka-Poka and after a couple of plants dig down to receive one half of a heart. Now that that is taken care of, move posthaste to Fuwa-Fuwa to save your wife Tina. By now, you should have 4 & one half hearts. If you do not, I suggest you acquire them. Also make sure all the switchs from the previous islands are activated. On to Fuwa-Fuwa. Enter with perfect health. Now that you have all five magic spells, the barrier is gone. Approach it then go inside. I personally think this is a excellent looking level. But looks aren't everything. Waft through here while incising the various enemies. Leave here then at the end gash a cactus. Leap from cloud to cloud rapidly as some fall to advance. Jump across more clouds then disregard the blocks, so maneuver up the vine. Every time you land on a leafy pad, those green pumpkins spring up. So go left to right, then up then you'll see a chest. Once you get past the cactus guarding it you find it holds 5000 coins. Not bad. Leap really high but overlook the opening as it is a fake. Fall down immediately then fare across the logs. Pierce the 4 baby dragons then move up the vine, to discover more green pumpkins. First, jump on the first one, then move right then up. Keep hopping to eventually leave. The bottom outlet on the right is a healing pool. Go from cloud to cloud while dissecting the ghosts. At the top are some bubbles (remember these?) so you can push on across the sharp trees. Find an upgraded type of Flying Fox then keep pressing on to leave. Don't stand on these logs for too long or they'll shrink. At about the middle, wait for the logs to shrink and drop down. Dig left and you'll chalk up the last MAGIC BOTTLE! Then dig back and if the Poka-Poka switch is off, you can read a tablet for a little bit of help. Climb the vine now, keep going then when you reach the dead end dig down to enter a crevice. Leap from cloud to cloud, but when you see the first weight jump right to a higher cloud. When you see the treasure box, open it to find the POWER SWORD! It's the most powerful. Put the feather to work. When you are at the start of the level keep traveling until you reach the blocks. Break the first ones you see then break the upward ones. After that's done slice the rock to gain one half of a heart. Now you should have five. Now go back to the weights, if you don't know how to operate them I suggest you see Hiya-Hiya Stone Monument. After that is done with, head up the vine. This blue block seems to be blocking your way. To remedy that, smash it with the POWER SWORD! Inside the hole is an herbal pool. Go inside the first weird door you see, as there are two. Finally you come face to face with CHIEFTAIN: FLYING EAGLE How to win: This is the crum bum that stole your wife and probably caused the tidal wave too! You are not worthy to fight him yet it seems, so you have to battle his 5 progeny. Don't bother using blizzard or blaze as it will just waste magic. When they put up a shield, jump because right after that they will shoot a projectile at you. After each of his children dies, he swoops down on you, so crouch down when he does this. Roughly 10 hits each will send them to an early grave. After his kids are dead, he will come down and try to attack you. Hit him 2-3 each swipe then crouch. When crouching he cannot touch you. Each time you slash him it makes a thunderous noise. Remember if your low on health use cure to get all of it back. Approximately 18+ will kill him. Open the treasure box to secure the SKY BELL! View the weird cinema to find out it still is not over. The King + Tina are abducted. So lace up your boots and prepare to fight! Make sure your health and magic are at full strength then warp back to the second regenerating pool at Fuwa-Fuwa. Bound all the way to the top, then enter the last strange door of the game. Stand on the pedestal and exercise the sky bell to fly high in the sky. FINAL CHIEFTAIN: Evil Phantom How to win: First of all, equip the cure so when your health is low. You can only thrash him when he is just forming the red circles. You can hit his body about 4 or 5 times before skipping back. When he sends out the diamond power beam, don't jump so you won't get sizzled. Those circle like power balls he makes keep extending so move speedily in between them. When the first set are at the edge, he'll make a second set & he will keep doing this until you defeat him. After 10+ hits he will rise up out of the body & float around. Now the body can disappear then reappear. Don't let this confuse you or the circles will hit you. When he sends out the diamond crouch now the body is shorter. Approximately 25 more hits will make kill the body off. Now you must use caution. The phantom will drop down and shoot energy balls at you. Jump over them to hit him 2 or 3 times. Roughly 14 swipes at him then his form will dissipate. Now you are transported to where the phantom has morphed into a scorpion and is on top of the planet. Each claw will shoot out energy balls. If you move or are in a certain spot the balls won't hurt you. The claws will also try to pinch you. 25+ each will make the arms fall off. Now the scorpion comes down to you, it will grow legs and a stinger. All it does is run around trying to hurt you and try to sting you with the stinger. When it nears you, jump over it then employ the boomerang as you do not want to be close to it. After lots of hits the tail will fall off, and the evil phantom will finally be defeated. 4. Magic Powers Feather - Will warp you to the beginning of the stage. Pretty useful when at the stone monuments. Requires: 1 Magic Bottle Recovery - Gives back about 1/2 of a heart. It's OK . . . Requires: 2 Magic Bottles Tie - Slows down any type of enemy. Great when fighting chieftains. Requires: 3 Magic Bottles Wing - Warps you to the island of your choice. Good when you don't feel like crossing a lot of water. Requires: 4 Magic Bottles Blizzard - Creates two pillars of snow that destroy all enemies on screen. N/A at chieftains. Requires: 5 Magic Bottles Power Boost - No enemies can injure you. Only bad side is amount of time it lasts. Requires: 6 Magic Bottles Blaze - Makes a fire attack that kills all enemies on screen. N/A at chieftains. Requires: 7 Magic Bottles Cure - Puts you back at full health. Down side is amount of bottles used up. Requires: 8 Magic Bottles All other bottles after this just increase your capacity for magic. 5. Ending HAH! You have been tricked again. Beat the evil phantom and watch the cinema after it. It is pretty nice though. Version 0.9 (c) 2001 J.T. All Rights Reserved.
