In this shooter you fly a helicopter which needs to fire missiles to blow up tanks, missiles and UFOs. Clearly Super Cobra won't win any prizes in the originality department, but it is a fun game and this FAQ will introduce the object of the game, the enemies, the controls and some basic strategy so anyone can finish the game. It isn't a detailed walkthrough, but a FAQ to introduce the mechanics to make sure everyone can play it like it is meant to be. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= 2- Gameplay [A200] =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =============================================================================== 2.1- Object of the game [A201] =============================================================================== The goal of the game is to score as many points as possible while controlling a helicopter. In each level you are confronted by different enemies and different terrain elements which can destroy your helicopter. Luckily you can use bombs and missiles to destroy them and gain points. After gaining 10.000 Points you receive an extra life on top of the ones you started with. The number of lives can be chosen at the start of the game. You can choose between 3, 4 or 5. If you don't make a choice, you'll receive unlimited lives, but you won't gain any points. This however is ideal to learn the layout of the different levels. In all the game contains ten levels, with the last one ending with an attack on the secret enemy base. If you manage to beat that level, you'll start again at level 1 but with your score intact. During the game you'll need to pay attention to enemy attacks and the obstacles of the level itself. The rough terrain presents a bigger challenge than the missiles as you can't destroy the terrain. This means it is important to pay attention at all time and learn to maneuver quickly around the level. You also need to pay attention to unexpected missiles as not all missile pods are in plain sight. The destruction of these will require careful bomb placements. If you are going for the high score, it is always smart to try the unlimited lives mode first to learn the feel of the game as the terrain and enemy placements don't change. =============================================================================== 2.2- Controls [A202] =============================================================================== The Entex Adventure Vision has six different input buttons, but not all buttons are needed to play the game so don't be surprised when you push a button and nothing happens (Button 4) or the Sound is turned off (Sound Button). Only the following buttons have a significant function within the game. _______________________________________________________________________________ | Joystick | You use the joystick to move your helicopter. Pressing up or down | controls the height of your Super Cobra, while left and right are | used to temporarily go faster or slower. _________|_____________________________________________________________________ | Button 1 | You drop a bomb by pressing Button 1. You can only drop one bomb at | a time so it is important to careful with them. _________|_____________________________________________________________________ | Button 3 | Button 3 is used to fire missiles that fly in a straight line ahead. | You also use this button to reset the game when you lose all lives. _________|_____________________________________________________________________ =============================================================================== 2.3- Enemies [A203] =============================================================================== The game contains seven types of enemies, which are worth 30 to 100 points when killed. For every 10.000 points you score, you receive a new life. So you'll need to kill at least 100 enemies to get a new life, which means it is better to avoid dying. The following list shows the value of all enemies. _______________________________________________________________________________ | Ground Missile | 30 Points Air Missile | 100 Points Fuel Tank | 50 Points Stalactite | 50 Points Star | 100 Points UFO | 100 Points Tank | 50 Points ________________|______________________________________________________________
